What other countries published DB as a monthly comic?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

What other countries published DB as a monthly comic?

Been curious about this since the manga markets all over the world were vastly different to what they are now.
In the US we had the monthly issues Viz used to put out until 2003, did anyone else do that before Viz started publishing Dragon Ball?

I remember Hong Kong's Culturecom had to play catch-up by releasing a couple of tankoubon every other month or two. Viz was going at a snail's pace by doing it monthly by comparison.

I did some digging and there's not a whole lot of english language articles on anything outside of the viz release.

But I did find out that yeah, other countries did have a monthly Dragon Ball release.
This one is the Brazillian release, looks like they separated the story into Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z like we did.
This is the French monthly publication, they were just Dragon Ball the entire ways through the manga.

And then Italian! Star Comics is a name I recognize, they used to publish marvel stuff back in the 90's along with importing manga over. Their entire monthly publication of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was documented.

I'm kinda surprised that there isn't a part of the website that covers international publications, so many places have their own history with Dragon Ball being localized that we never really get to hear about.

This website focuses primarily on the Japanese version and the American localisations. The wiki will be an extension of that, but Hujio said pages for non-English territories is a possibility, but something that will be explored further down the line.

I would be all for seeing other territories documented. I've done extensive research for anything about Dragon Ball in the UK for anyone interested in learning more. To answer the thread title no we didn't get a monthly comic, just the regular manga volumes and 3-in-1s.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

I almost forgot when Hong Kong caught up, new chapters began syndication on a weekly manga anthology magazine called Ex-Am. I would rent a few issues from time to time but as I recall, they used better quality paper than Shonen Jump.

Taiwan had Formosa Youth for their fair share of weekly manga anthology magazines.
