Daima Soundtrack + Other Digital Releases
Daima Soundtrack + Other Digital Releases
To preface my questions, I used to be a big collector of physical media for decades but I sold 95% of all my collectibles this summer as part of an attempt to downsize and move into the country to start a simpler life. I didn't just suddenly stop wanting to listen to animé themes, however, and as such I've moved towards supporting artists directly by purchasing their official digital releases.
One snag I've run into a lot lately is a struggle to find official releases of animé OPs and EDs and everything in between. It's not limited to older CDs, because even when I find an OP or ED I like for a show currently being broadcast I hit the old "this song is not available to be purchased in your country" road block. It's frustrating because I genuinely want to support this stuff without the burden of the physical media.
And now onto my questions:
1) Does anyone know how to officially purchase the digital releases of 'Jaka Jaan' and 'Nakama' from Daima? I really, really want them.
2) Does anyone have any leads on dependable, official resources to legally purchase animé music mp3s/[insert-filetype-here]? It's been a bit of a struggle even finding songs that are released by the JPop artists or bands that aren't region locked. How is this still a problem in 2024? (You don't have to answer that last question. I know why it's still a problem, I just don't like it. I hate the idea of begging someone to take my money.)
Thank you!

1) Do you use either Spotify or Apple Music (or both)? I don't use either of them but those are where you can legally listen to "Jaka Jaan" and "NAKAMA" if you have a subscription for either service. But right now, full versions of those songs are yet to be released.PeteyVX wrote: Mon Oct 21, 2024 7:14 pm To preface my questions, I used to be a big collector of physical media for decades but I sold 95% of all my collectibles this summer as part of an attempt to downsize and move into the country to start a simpler life. 2) Not really; therefore, I don't have a clear answer for this.

You posted this too early, but nevertheless:PeteyVX wrote: Mon Oct 21, 2024 7:14 pm 1) Does anyone know how to officially purchase the digital releases of 'Jaka Jaan' and 'Nakama' from Daima? I really, really want them.

Wait till they get released, but it depends on the label and whether or not they'll put it on a purchase (not streaming) service like Mora, OTOTOY, etc (and also if they set a region lock to it or not).
All you'll find is what's available, and a lot of times digital can tend to offer a lot less than physical editions. Along with the fact that it's usually the more recent material that gets put up for streaming, and even less for direct purchase (this seems to be changing slowly however). As far as DB media is concerned though, availability is rather spotty (although the newer it is, the better the chances of having something up).
Re: Daima Soundtrack + Other Digital Releases
Thanks to both for your replies. I was unaware of whether or not the full songs had been released, but I'm glad I asked cause now I know that they haven't. Regarding the streaming services, I appreciate the suggestions. I don't use any of them either. Not the biggest fan of them, but it's starting to look like it may be the only option for consistent access to animé music.

I don't use any streams for music, so I get your pain.
And I don't think I will. Although recently my samsung cellphone refused to play MP3s without connection to the internet. I do hiking at places without WIFI and even without cellphone signal, that is WHY I was using an MP3 pre downloaded file... the times we live in...
You could buy the CD soundtrack online. I have not done it myself, but I know that buying and importing collectables like small figurines and 1:64 cars is cheap since a couple of years ago. Maybe you can look up youtubers that can recommend a trusted website for it.
Just listening to the music from a device exclusively for playing a video of the opening and ending music while you do something else or use another device might be another idea you can try.

Re: Daima Soundtrack + Other Digital Releases
The opening is available on iTunes since early December, but it's only the short opening version (labeled as "anime version").
It's possible that they never made a full-length version. No other track is included in the package, just this one.
Search on Zedd's iTunes page and you'll quickly find it.
Since it's on iTunes, it's probably on Spotify too.

They actually did. The full version of Jaka☆Jaan was released two days ago.Cold Skin wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 12:02 am It's possible that they never made a full-length version.

I wondered why it took them so long, until I heard the lyrics and realized they're definitely going to use the second verse as the ending for the final episode.TechExpert2021 wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 10:25 pmThey actually did. Re: Daima Soundtrack + Other Digital Releases
It's a standard waiting period for most full anime soundtrack material (especially as the series hasn't even ended yet), but I suppose there's some that have come out earlier in a show's run.
Then again there's been more than one irregular aspect of the production when it comes to the music specifically.

Re: Daima Soundtrack + Other Digital Releases
I'm not one who's always checking for every major anime OP release, but the ones I have checked for, it's usually a couple months to get the full version, but not THIS late. I know there are some outliers, I think we got the full Dandadan OP very quickly, but this just felt weird and very late.GhostEmperorX wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2025 10:24 pmIt's a standard waiting period for most full anime soundtrack material (especially as the series hasn't even ended yet), but I suppose there's some that have come out earlier in a show's run.
