Managed to pick up these babies a few months back for a really good deal. Definitely been one of my DB grails for years so I'm super happy to finally have them! Maybe one day I'll get the little commemorative figures that came bundled with the DBoxes originally back in 03.

I found these on ebay. Got to my place pretty quickly and all the discs worked perfectly. They can get pretty pricey cause yknow limited release and all that, but if you look around enough you can find some for a deal. I managed to snag both sets for around 200 USD. That's usually the low end for how much the JP DBZ Dragon Boxes go for in my experience.Teddy_Beer wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 8:07 amWhere did you get them?CashMane wrote: Sat Jun 22, 2024 4:23 pm Managed to pick up these babies a few months back for a really good deal. This felt nice to get. I didn't need it at all, but for a crazy deal I couldn't pass it up. Seriously satisfying to own one of these after so many years and after having to emergency sell away the Funi Boxes. I finally understand what people used to mean by the package quality being so much better than the English Z sets too. Now I feel like I need the rest someday lol.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I had the entire Dragon Ball Z series on Blu Ray. Was pretty expensive so I told Amazon that there was a disc missing (there wasn't) and they refunded me the whole cost so I had it for free.
Then also sold the DVDs and made the money back on them too.

Yeah the JP Dragon Boxes are gorgeous, especially the one for OG Dragon Ball. It's kinda funny how the one we got in English was Z, which... Well I mean for one thing the English release was broken up into smaller boxes and was as such less fancy, but even in Japanese I feel like the Z box was a bit less fancy with the total lack of background and somewhat randomly scattered character art. All the others felt a bit more deliberate in their design.nathantheguitarist wrote: Tue Jul 16, 2024 1:08 am I finally understand what people used to mean by the package quality being so much better than the English Z sets too. Anyway, this is not so much my most recent purchase, singular, rather my last two years' worth of purchases or so, but I'm gonna count it anyway:

All of the DBS manga that's been released so far in Japanese and Norwegian. It's somewhat amusing to me that, despite the Norwegian release using "Vejita", Vegeta's surfboard on the volume 3 cover still says "Vegeta".

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Hello fellow DB brothers and amigos.
After some difficult financial issues (post pandemic
effects) and the suggestion of not posting my purchases of bootleg toys here due to the lack of payment to dragonball copyright holders, It feels as a personal triumph to finally be able to post something in this section of the forum.
Shamefully, I never learned to post images here so please accept my link to see the photographic evidence.
I bought the Reeses puff Dragon Ball cereal that everyone talks about. It is very delicious... although my rating might be biased because I love Reeses chocolate since I ever tried it in 2008. Btw if you are in Mexico do not buy it. They don't use the same chocolate recipe neither the same sugar ratio. This one is imported it is 1.5 kilos (uh,I am Mexican I don't know it in pounds... sorry?) and it would cost the equivalent to 20 american dollars.
I hope you all are well and may Sheng Long make your dreams come true, thank you for reading.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Most recent purchase was the blu-rays for Kai including the Final Chapters. I bailed on Kai during the Freeza Saga just because life was kinda busy for me at the time and just never circled back to it. I've been enjoying it, the dub is great and the pacing is nice. I'm at the part where Goku first starts fighting Freeza now, looking forward to getting to the Android Saga since I haven't watched those episodes and beyond for Kai yet.
I had to get the first 4 European season set BD's from Amazon because of the ridiculous price gouging on season 4, but to my surprise all the discs worked in my US PlayStation 5. So that was nice.

Been collecting the Dragon Ball VizBigs for a long time, I'm nearing the finish line and just got volume 7 of DBZ! This covers the end of the Cell Game and the first two volumes of the Boo arc! I'm really excited because having the whole series physically has been a big goal for me ever since I started collecting manga. Shame it doesn't have all the colored pages but, hey I'll take what I can get.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Resurrecting this thread after about two months to show off my latest Dragon Ball gets to ring in the new year, both of which are manga acquisitions this time around. I got Dragon Ball VizBig Volume 4 and Dragon Ball Super Volume 20 (They didn't have 19 which was the next one in line that i need) at my local Books-A-Million yesterday. I now have the full set of VizBig volumes covering the OG DB portion of the manga and still need to get the remaining six (Vol. 3, 5-9) i don't have to finish off the Z part of the original story.

DB collection related goals as of now:
1.) Find decent priced copy of Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 (Done)
2.) Collect rest of manga
3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Been trying to finish up a FUNi DVD singles collection that I started many years ago
Most recently, I bought the complete Saiyan Conflict and Namek DVD box sets by Pioneer for ~$88 total
Just need the Garlic Jr. saga box set and six Frieza saga DVD's and I'm all done
