I genuinely enjoy when people create their own content to entertain the community—sometimes it's quirky, other times it's great. As Jump Festa approaches, there's a lot of content circulating that could be misleading, often intended to be humorous, like this particular one that's already making the rounds. There’s still no official information on it, but I'd love to know what’s going on here, maybe there's a hidden joke or something, so if someone knows the original source of this peace, please clarify. Anyway, thanks in advance!
I can only find it on this anonymous media-spoiler blog/board, so take it with a massive grain of salt. The Japanese all checks out though, and most posters on the board are questioning the content rather than the veracity. If it's a fake, it's a good one with a convincing aping of Toyotaro's style. It's the kind of premise that usually comes up in fan fake-outs like this though, and spots look a little wonky quality-wise, so who knows.

Something I could never quite figure out is how does the manga go about deciding what gets adapted and what doesn't? Battle of Gods got adapted, but Resurrection F was skipped because it got a separate tie-in manga, but Super Broly was skipped for unexplained reasons with a simple splash page referencing it, then Superhero gets a full extended manga adaptation that's, from what I can tell, longer than all the others.

While I can't give you the exact reason, I would definitely bet it's related to the incompetent, confused way the higher ups have dealt with this franchise for the past decade.

I'm excepting a new ongoing DBS arc after this one-shot

Nobody 'erased' GT either. This fanbase has too many internal wars for it's own good.

I am happy that Toyotaro will continue making new chapters for the manga. I actually enjoy the manga.
DBS anime on the other hand not so much, I don't like the writing.
However if DBS anime does improve, then I wouldn't mind if it returns the anime. If they don't have plans to improve, then they shouldn't return.

It's too late for this one-shot too happen, people have moved on from pretending to be fans of Goten and Trunks.

I am sure not everyone were pretending to be fans of Goten and Trunks. I am looking forward to the one shot.

I kind of wondered if when I saw the announcement if it was this one shot to pad out the page count for the last volume. and if they continue on with just him working on it there's at least sort of a clean break with the super hero saga in volume numbers with whatever toyotaro's next story is. or maybe a retitle and relaunch

One of the better things from Super was with Goten and Trunks. Don't say people pretend to like them.

That thought did occur to me too. Why, after radio silence ever since Toriyama's death, would they announce a
one shot rather than the start of a new arc? It actually makes me wonder if volume 24 will indeed be the final volume, and that either Super just ends here, or that as you just suggested Toyotaro continues the story under a new name.
Because yeah, we have three chapters following the end of volume 23. Assuming this one shot is the length of a standard chapter, that would fill out the page count.

Yeah I know. I don't know why it was quoted as you said it. I am not good at manually editing quoting tags.

The DBS Manga was always Toyotaro's work. The Moro arc in particular was pretty much written entirely by Toyotaro.
I don't understand why people think the DBS Manga will end without Toriyama.
I'm not surprised that Toyotaro is taking a long hiatus, and I find 3 main reasons for it:
1) Well-deserved rest because a mangaka's job is exhausting;
2) He needs to come up with a way to write the conflict with Black Freeza that is both logical (how can the Saiyans close the gap?) and original enough to not feel like a retread of RoF.
3) He wants to see what Daima is doing before continuing, and if he can adapt some storylines, characters, and lore drops from Daima in his manga.
At his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

Nobody 'erased' GT either. This fanbase has too many internal wars for it's own good.
I meant erased in terms of the fact that it’s not even important to even watch anymore, even though GT was always considered to not be canon because it wasn’t written by Toriyama and also featured movie villains which didn’t make sense in the anime continuity, with Super pretty much most new fans just completely ignore it nowadays except maybe watching some SSJ4 clips to see how it looks out of curiosity, before Super most people watched GT despite its negative reputation because well, it was the only major Dragon Ball media to watch after Z and the manga ended, now years later with Super and the new movies, manga and lately Daima, most people don’t give GT any attention !
