Favourite "out of character" moments

Not "out of character" in the sense of being badly written or characterized, but just acting in a way that's not usually typical.

For me, it's Goku threatening Shin in the Boo arc, or Goku being a stern dad and showing tough love by calling Gohan and Goten pampered babies who can't defend the Earth by themselves in Bojack and Broly 2.

"I'm not a Saiyan, I'm an Earthling!"
"Yeah, fighting's good, but this ain't half bad."

Goku vowing to fight Moro as an Earthling, not a Galactic Patrol or Saiyan, in Super.

Goku telling Android 17 that, while he enjoys fighting, he cannot stand the thought of innocent people getting erased, and persuading 17 to join the Tournament of Power.

Also Goku working his ass off at the farm, finally getting a job and income to support his family and give Chi Chi and Goten much-needed financial stability. This happens in Super BTW.
At his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

Gokuu helping with the Hire Dragon stuff in Dragon Ball Movie #6 was a lot of fun. Gokuu is always at his best when he's not this inhuman thing, just so that Toriyama can pretend that he's writing some sort of important middle finger to the idea of a dad not being a piece of shit for once.

Also, he's just sexier that way.

Goku calling himself an earthling, not a saiyan, is the most Goku thing ever.
Vegeta calling himself an eartling in GT is different story, although that was more character development than out of character thing.

But Vegeta actually caring for others like getting mad at Yamcha making Bra cry was funny.

I personally enjoy out of character moments if they are made for the gag.
But the serious ones like Gohan SSJ2 toying with Cell i absolutely hate a lot of times.

I will admit though, Goku giving up his fight with Cell was very out of character for him and i actually enjoyed it. The same goes for Goku punching Gohan in face when he wanted to go save Piccolo from Cell.

The best out of character moment to me is probably Goku SSJ against Frieza. He acted nothing like himself but in a really good and fresh way that was also completley justified by plot.

Another favorite moment like that would be Goku brutally killing Naturon Shenron and actually enjoying it. That was so not like him, but gave so much satisfaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5BDtKc2CoE
"I will concede that your feelings are worthy of the mightiest of Saiyans. However, there is more to my power than just this. Before you die, I will show it to you. This is the difference in power, between the primitive Saiyans and the evolved Tsufruians." ~Baby Vegeta
