2 in 1 DB/DBZ Movie releases - with countries?

Post by coola » Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:09 pm

Philippines had DBZ Movie 5 and 6 released as single movie called The Greatest Rivals, and France/Europe had DBZ Movie 12 and 13 released as Dragon Ball Z: The Movie (In Polish case, we didn't have changed Movie 12 OST replaced with 13 https://x.com/Quebaz23/status/1777735591766941997) Did any other country had such 2 in 1 releases?

Yes. Here in Latin America, we had Dragon Ball Z III: Guerra en Los Dos Mundos (Dragon Ball Z III: War in the Two Worlds in English), which was a bizarre fusion (no pun intended) of movies 9 and 12.

Here's a trailer of it.

It was the third out of the Z movies premiered in Latin American cinemas back in late 90s. The first one was Movie 3 (renamed as Dragon Ball Z: La Película / Dragon Ball Z: The Movie in English) and the second one was Movie 8 (renamed as Dragon Ball Z II).
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

The Solar Entertainment dub, also released in the Philippines, which is Dragon Ball Z movies 10 and 11 combined into one feature.

Fans have questioned the legitimacy of this dub, the official release looks bootleg with TOEI being mentioned nowhere on the disc or packaging despite the Warner Brothers logo being there. I've also heard there were trailers on TV, and it was apparently released in theatres.

The cast and names are entirely different to the Creative Corp Products dub, so it seems to have been produced independent of them. The entire dub is just one big mystery.

There was also the Harmony Gold dub of Dragon Ball movies 1 and 3, which was broadcast on WGPR (now WWJ) channel 62 in Detroit, Michigan, and WGBS (now WPSG) channel 57 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which served as a sort of pilot for the series.
