Goku's New Form in Daima!

Ok, guys, I think I’m onto something here. What if they didn’t bring back the Power Pole just for nostalgia’s sake? What if it serves a much bigger purpose? Hear me out. I have a theory that in Dragon Ball Daima, Goku will unlock a new form through the Nyoibō (Power Pole) he used in the original series. I believe it could have origins in the Demon Realm, possibly enchanted with secret magic. Returning it to its original environment could trigger its true essence, unlocking a powerful new form for Goku.

But to back this up, think about the legendary Sun Wukong. He wielded a similar weapon, a magical staff called the Ruyi Jingu Bang, which granted him incredible powers. Given the strong parallels between Goku and Wukong, it’s possible Toriyama brought the Nyoibō back to give Goku a form influenced by Sun Wukong.

Not only does this make the form feel less like a fan-service asspull, but it also doesn’t contradict anything that happens later in Super, because we never see Goku with the Power Pole again. My guess? It’ll probably be destroyed by the end of the series, or Goku will simply leave it in the Demon Realm.

Also, the way I see the form, it’s going to be very similar to SSJ4, but not quite SSJ4. It will likely lean more towards Toriyama’s original design for Goku, combining elements of Sun Wukong with a hint of SSJ4.

I don't think these are there just because. Whenever I see feathers ominously flying through the screen, all I can think of is a Sailor Moon transformation sequence is about to happen.

Interesting theory for a later story, but I think they have the fusion bugs in their possession for a reason. This indicates that a fusion is highly likely, though it may look different from Gogeta or Vegito. Apart from Neva or the Majins, I haven't seen an awful lot of 'magic' within the Demon Realm. Even the rulers, Degusu and Gomah, didn't seem to have real magical abilities without the Third Eye. If magic were to suddenly gain such high importance at the end of the story, it may feel like an asspull.

good observation, seems rather too specific with the feather theme to be random design choice.

At the same time it doesn't really fit the SSJ4 monkey-furr ascethic at all sooo.... I guess the new form won't be recanonized SSJ4 afterall? Dunno what to think anymore. On one hand good, 'cause then the SSJ4 design can be saved for post-EOZ content but if it's too similar it may permanently cancel any possibility of recanonizing the SSJ4 design unfortunately...

Agree with OP that the Sun Wukong connection here is the blatantly obvious way to go for Toriyama And if the form is unlocked/gained through the pole, then it's a super easy way to explain why it's not later in Super (without gatelocking SSJ4-Oozaru form forever behind Demon Realm as most ppl are speculationg if it was ligeral SSJ4 furr design brought back)

Nothing concrete TBH. Followed the recent talks about the new form closely to get a feeling if its's gonna be SSJ4 but he's very careful not to say anything specific on this one, even on the question of the tail he said "cannot confirm"

On a second thought, he was teasing (in relation to the new form and SSJ4 rumors) how Daima is a celebration of everything Dragon Ball across 40 years, how there's an UBER fanservice coming and how this new form will spawn millions of fanart. He was really putting weight on the word fanart

Yeah so based on that one could speculate that the new form is Goku + Shin and/or Glorio fusion, resulting in basically that famous Dragon Ball AF SSJ5 fanart with white furr, white hair and different skin color. That would make sense, esp since Fused Zamasu already happened and Mira from Xeno/Heroes even had a final form with white SSJ4-like body furr. Plus, Toyotaro and AF... wouldn't put it past Toriyama to make a fanart into a canon design as a 'thank you' to the fans

The only thing that doesn't fit into this is the feathers... unless Glorio is a bird-warewolf lol. But maybe the feathers are for the new Dragon (a more feathered-dinosaur design)

Is there any possibility that this figure is not the new transformation and appears in another Ichiban Kuji later? Or could it be that the measurements are reported as small but when the character comes out, if he is an adult, are they modified? That is, taking into account that information about the Ichiban, does it have to be the new small form?

Transformations are awesome, so I do hope that we get new forms before the series ends. Changing appearance is a natural part of life, after all.

The majilite lore seems like it could tie into this too. Maybe the energy of the realm or the creatures within it influence both Goku and the staff, leading to a transformation. And with Akio Iyoku confirming that GT elements were a big inspiration for Daima, I wouldn’t be surprised if Blutz Waves made a comeback in some form. If the staff somehow channels or amplifies that energy, it could serve as the catalyst for a new form, something that has SS4-like elements but isn’t quite the same thing.

Whatever it is, I hope it's something new and thematically relevant. I hope it's not Super Saiyan 4, not least of which because we already have a Super Saiyan 4.

I'm not going to lie, if they copy BLEACH Movie #4 and give Gokuu a form that he can only achieve in the Demon Realm, that would be pretty cool.

At first, he was on board with a new form. However, now that there are only a few episodes left in the series, I wonder how they'll fit this into the story (especially if it's Super Saiyajin 4). I really hope this new form is something temporary and is tied to an item (like Gomah's Third Eye).
Using the bugs to gain new power is the best thing I can think of right now.
