How would you fix Daima?
Re: How would you fix Daima?
I'll come back to this after Daima ends but so far i have a couple things i would change
First the demon realm as a whole looks absolutely boring i would make it look otherworldly instead of having it look like a place you would see on earth(seriously it looks like a rocky place you would see on earth)
It would have places that would defy common sense it would be filled with magic like up is down, down is up it would mess with your sense of direction if you aren't originally from the demon realm instead of the "bad air" that they get over quickly
I would also change the random fodder that we see Goku and co easily beating into people who can fire magical spells that could slow down the cast.
Granted they would still be weaker than Goku and Vegeta but they would have abilities that could actually pose a threat against them. One of the main things dragonball should do better on is having enemies actually have more options other than punching and shooting ki blasts, have them cast a spell that slows down time around them or since they are in a magical realm have them conjure armor that wont be able to break easily
I would also not turn them into being kids.I am not a fan of turning characters into kids whatsoever this is the 2nd time we have seen Goku turn into a kid again it didn't help the first time in GT and it's not helping now

Re: How would you fix Daima?
1. No Chibi Goku nonsense. This was completely unnecessary. They could have just mentioned that the demon realm's air is dense, so ki works differently, resulting in Goku being unable to use IT, and his stamina draining a lot quicker, making the SSJ forms last resorts.
2. Improve the pacing by removing like 5 episodes, which were filler-ish. Also, omitting or replacing so much of the non-filler episodes. For example, in the most recent one, what was the point of that Ginyu Force rip-off? To laugh? It wasn't funny, and just consumed time. And the one before that, Goku and co struggling against an army of henchmen for half the episode when they could have immediately defeated them by going SSJ. It's so stupid.
3. Change Gomah entirely. His character makes no sense. He's portrayed as a weak imp who is terrified of Goku and Co, much like Pilaf, but everyone is scared of him, claiming he's worse than Dabura. He would be endearing if Pilaf didn't already exist, but this series is trying too hard to borrow from OG DB to appeal to little kids somehow. Actually, the series as it is right now would have worked a lot better if Gomah WAS Pilaf, after returning to the demon realm and learning he somehow became king again. Imagine him actually becoming a threat. lol.

That would require Toriyama to actually utilize his characters and not dump them after one arc.fadeddreams5 wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 3:28 pm Actually, the series as it is right now would have worked a lot better if Gomah WAS Pilaf, after returning to the demon realm and learning he somehow became king again. Re: How would you fix Daima?
For now:
- Better pacing. I would make it 15 episodes at max.
- More action, less adventure.
- Vegeta vs Tamagami 2 would actually be as good as Goku vs Tamamgami 1 was, because it wasn't.
- I'm tired of Beerus looking characters, so the Gendarmerie would have another color scheme. Anything but purple and yellow eyes.
- Gendarmerie force would be stronger and each one, Goku, Vegeta, Kaioshin, Piccolo and Glorio would fight one of them.
Not Vegeta beating everyone. Gomah would send the weakest two after them in the second realm. Kaioshin and Glorio would take them.
The other three would be fought in the first realm by Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo.
- Degesu would be stronger too and be beaten by Piccolo, Kaioshin. Glorio and Panzy. Goku and Vegeta take Majin Kuu and Duu as we see in the preview.
- Before the final fight against Gomah, they summon the dragon and go back to being adults.
- Gomah would have a different outfit or color scheme to not look like a lost Pride Trooper
- Daima ends foreshadowing Moro, as another demon that went to the outside world long ago.

I'd fix Daima by telling Toei or whoever's in charge of physical releases to put this out on home media ASAP.

And I hope their home video release of Daima won't have green tint like their home video releases of DBS Broly and DBS Super Hero.Mr Baggins wrote: Fri Feb 14, 2025 3:11 pm I'd fix Daima by telling Toei or whoever's in charge of physical releases to put this out on home media ASAP.

There's already an improved version of Daima.
It debuted in 1996 and it's called "Dragon Ball GT."

Re: How would you fix Daima?
I would make Gokuu and friends all women and enjoy it and never want to go back to being men—eww—and then they would talk about their feelings all night and beat the shit out of Dr. Arinsu and Gomah after they decline to change their evil ways.
It's kind of hard to determine what changes I would make without knowing the full scope of what Daima aims to do, but I definitely think giving the main characters arcs would be the most obvious choice. I say remove all focus from Gokuu and the older characters and focus solely on Panzy and Glorio, with Gokuu only being there to serve the function of fighting and achieving his new transformation.
But also, mostly turn Gokuu and friends into women.

I just checked Kanzenshuu's main page and saw that they've announced a (Japanese) home release for Daima since at least the 7th. Goes to show how out of the loop I am.
Hopefully it gets localized at some point.

If Gomah was not goofy and had a design like this (on the left):

It would be way more attractive and convincing that he's actually a dangerous villain and also has him to be the demon responsible for killing Jiren's parents.

Keep the namekians being aliens and not from the demon realm like the 90% of everything else is.

Them being demons always made more sense, considering King Piccolo was literally spawning monsters and was referred to as a demon.DBFanGuy wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 4:28 pm Keep the namekians being aliens and not from the demon realm like the 90% of everything else is.
I agree, but it also makes little sense someone like Degesu would be his servant. If they were going to make him like Pilaf, they should have just used Pilaf. Pilaf being controlled by the Third Eye and an actual threat to Goku would have been a sight to behold.JulieYBM wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 3:52 pmBeing pathetic is what makes Gomah so attractiveNoah wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 3:01 pmThis.fadeddreams5 wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 3:28 pm3. I do think those fanart designs Noah posted are wayyy better than the Third Eye Gomah we got too.

Re: How would you fix Daima?
Degesu's also a loser, but the entire dynamic needs to be changed between those two, anyway, to firmly establish that Degesu is actually just loyal to Gomah for some reason (respect, friendship, love, et cetera) or is just less powerful than Gomah. I can buy that Gomah is powerful and dangerous as we see him before acquiring the Third Eye because even powerful characters should have something to them as characters beyond being strong. Gomah as that kind of hapless guy who just makes his own life more difficult despite his skill is not only a new layer to his character, but strikingly true to life.fadeddreams5 wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 5:42 pmI agree, but it also makes little sense someone like Degesu would be his servant. Re: How would you fix Daima?
Also I agree with posts here saying these should have been the main characters of this show:

It wouldn’t just help Goten have better character development (which is something pretty lacking in the series), it would also make stupid decisions and ideas make sense (since they’re kids), and the stakes would be high since Goten and Trunks are far from being as powerful as their dads. We could have Shin in a mentor role, more Gotenks (or even a second fusion for them) and honestly, I’d love to see them go on an adventure in a totally different world where they’re the only ones who can fix what happened to their families and friends.
It’s a shame Toriyama didn’t see it that way, probably because he wouldn’t believe a story without Goku and Vegeta could ever be successful.

Yeah, I think what I dislike about Gomah the most is how he treats Degesu, who just appears much more powerful. I like the idea that they are very good friends or Gomah saved Degesu in the past, so Degesu is super protective of him.JulieYBM wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 5:47 pmDegesu's also a loser, but the entire dynamic needs to be changed between those two, anyway, to firmly establish that Degesu is actually just loyal to Gomah for some reason (respect, friendship, love, et cetera) or is just less powerful than Gomah.
