If you could add someone else to the main cast of Daima, who would you want to see added?

I've got two choices:

Gohan: He hasn't even appeared in Daima, and I honestly have no idea why. This show was made as an anniversary celebration, which is why Goku and the others were made into children. But wouldn't it have made sense to prominently feature Gohan, one of the few characters the audience has known since he was a child? This story doesn't take place too long after the Buu saga, so he can't be that out of practice in terms of fighting (the excuse used all throughout Super). Plus, I imagine he and Dende should be close friends, so I don't see why he wouldn't want to try and help find him.

Majin Buu: Despite Daima being effectively a sequel to his arc, Majin Buu hasn't really had a role, which I feel is a missed opportunity. Super I feel kind of gives him a bad reputation as a person that will sleep through entire conflicts, and while that is funny, I feel it was a bit overdone. However, the Majin Buu arc showed he was more than just a killing and sleeping machine. He had a curiosity to the world around him which led to his friendship with Satan and adoption of Bee. Wouldn't it have been cool to see how he'd interact with other Majins?

Buu definitely, he's not even asleep here so no excuse why they didn't take one of their most powerful assets. Yeah they have Kuu and Duu, but Buu doesn't need to be fed every 30 seconds to stay powerful, and actually knows how to use his antennae to his advantage.

Another choice is Tenshinhan, the series is all about Third Eye, so why not take someone... who has one of his own? Would be nice if they were somehow related. Like Tien having the Good Third Eye, a counterpart to the Evil one.

No one, as they have done very little with the cast they already have. With that said, if they had utilized their cast properly, then Buu would've been a natural addition to the cast.

I would just work on the existing cast. 8 characters is already hell to deal with for a competent writer, why add even more?

I would argue Piccolo was really the only wasted character of the main cast. Everyone else has their functions in the narrative, but Piccolo has done nothing significant that couldn't have been done by any other character.

I was originally gonna frame this question as "If you could swap Piccolo out with another character, who would it be?", but it feels wrong to single him out since he's one of my favorites.

I would remove Vegeta and replace him with Videl, because I think, "Gokuu goes on an adventure with his daughter-in-law who he almost never speaks to" is a lot more interesting than "Gokuu goes on an adventure with his boyfriend who won't accept his feelings for Gokuu and they remain in an unending deadlock of emotions."

I agree with this one. It removes the "Goku and Vegeta show" aspect of Daima.

Vegeta's entertainment value when paired with Goku for me comes from the two of them being adults. Daima turning everyone into kids immediately sinks my battleship. Like, this show did its best to deter me.

And yet I watched anyway because it's the final Toriyama thing.

As a child Vegeta spends most of his time in Daima silent and sulking, so sure, swap him out for someone else.

Know who could've been fun on this journey? Krillin. You'd have a near-complete og db crew then. Gohan also could've been fun if you let him go full science mode.

My wildcard choice would be Chi-Chi, who's roots are more Journey to the West meaning she could arguably have that RPG/fantasy/magic insight if the writers wanted her to.

I personally never minded the "Goku and Vegeta show" aspect of some Dragon Ball projects. They're just really fun characters to watch/read. Especially when they throw Piccolo in there. I think those three make a great trio.
I would have included Boo and Tenshinhan in the story somehow, though. Boo for obvious reasons and Tenshinhan because of the Third Eye. I mean, the extra eye is such a strong trait of Tenshinhan. It could have been better utilized. I don't know, maybe explore something about Tenshinhan's ancestors migrating from the Demon Realm and interbreeding with humans.

I'd remove Goku and Vegeta and replace them with Goten and Trunks. If you can't replace current members, then I agree Boo is a logical choice.
