How would you fix Dragon Ball Super

Post by super michael » Wed Mar 05, 2025 12:31 pm

I am curious to see how members would fix Dragon Ball Super, it can be anything there are no restrictions. It can be story, writing, designs, art style, animation, world building, etc.

I would remaster the Future Trunks saga and Tournament of Power saga so that they have less filler/boring fluff and improved art and animation in episodes like 62 and the first half of 67, which were a let down, considering the important story events that were taking place there (Future Trunks fighting in Super Saiyan Rage for the first time in the former, and Infinite Zamasu in the latter).

As far as I'm concerned, these overhauls would make Super nearly perfect.
At his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

Outside of the obvious animation improvements/overhaul.

1) Have Goku and Vegeta use their new Daima forms against Beerus.
2) Show Shin and Kibito unfused.
3) Use the plot point of Freeza hiring powerful mercenaries and have the Z fighters struggle for a bit.
4) Include Yamcha and Chaoz in the fight.
5) Gohan turns Ultimate after Piccolo dies and forces Freeza to transform into his final form but loses after that.
6) Explain that Freeza gave some of his Ki to Sorbet to use against Goku.
7) Remove the Goku sees Shin and Kibito unfused scene.
8 ) Have Piccolo fight first in the U6 tournament, he beats Botamo but loses to Frost. Everything happens the same after that.
9) Mention Rhymus or whatever is name is when Zeno appears.
10) Show the full Future Dabura flashback.
11) Explain Super Saiyan Rage as a form exclusive to Saiyan hybrids.
12) Have Zamasu's arm be smaller on his Corrupted form.
13) Make Vegetto vs Fused Zamasu last longer.
14) Make it clear Fused Zamasu is getting weaker as he fights Vegetto.
15) Have Future Kaio help Future Trunks gather Genki.
16) Have Infinite Zamasu talk.
17) Show Infinite Zamasu kill Future Hit, Cabba and the rest of U6.
18) Have other universes get more eliminations at the ToP. Goku and Vegeta have too many.
19) Universe 6 should eliminate another universe. Maybe 9 or 10.
20) Remove that nonsense that Jiren surpasses the GoD level. That's obviously not true anymore.
21) Show Bardock's full attack on Freeza's army.
22) Have Goku and Vegeta use SSBKK and SSBE against Broly.
23) Have Gohan arrive to help Freeza.
24) Have a real tag team fight between the Gammas and Piccolo/Gohan.
25) Have Boo wake up and help against Cell Max. 17 too.
26) Goten and Trunks should use Super Saiyan against Cell Max.
27) Make Piccolo put up more of a fight against Cell Max.

My initial response to this is "don't have it set before the epilogue in the first place", but that feels a little bit like cheating. So I'll stick with the broad Super story that we have and go from there. I'm not going to suggest things that would make it better cohere with other works, like "have them use their Daima forms against Beerus", because that feels like a different question from "fixing Super".

For the five core Super arcs, I'd use the anime as the base, and incorporate things from the manga here and there. For general overhauls:
• Don't have Yamamuro be the character designer or anyone with a similarly glossy and bloated style.
• Either have Sumitomo write music that right off the bat sounds like it belongs in a Kung Fu Movie, or ditch him for somebody who can/will.

Battle of Gods:
• Honestly nothing comes to mind at the moment. I don't love the movie, but there's nothing about it that makes me think "ah, this should have obviously happened instead".

Resurrection F:
• We're told Freeza "trains for 4 months", and don't really see anything that would make it special. The Granola arc introduces the notion that he found a Room of Spirit and Time. I would simply have that be where he trains in RoF.
• I'd probably have more people show up to fight Freeza and his goons; Goten, Trunks, #18, Yamcha, Chaozu, etc.

Champa:
• Replace Beerus and Champa's fight with the flashback one from the manga.
• I'd have Piccolo train with Goku and Vegeta, and get at least one elimination during the tournament.

Goku Black:
• Do not revert Goku and Vegeta to their Cell arc outfits; this applies to every story after this point as well.
• I'd make it so that Trunks' "Rage" form is like a half-measure between Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Blue, something he managed to cobble together by training with Goku and Vegeta.
• I'd make it so that the Genki Dama that Goku learned is just Kaio's own particular twist on tech that both Kaio and Kaioshin employ. Trunks' Genki Dama Sword would then be the result of his training with Kaioshin.

Tournament of Power:
• Skip the recruitment stuff for everyone besides #17 and Freeza. I guess keep Gohan's in there to some extent, so we retain the line that accidentally helps "foreshadow" Beast.
• Don't say that the Tournament has a 48 minute time limit. Either leave it unspecified, or say they've got a full 24 hours or something.
• Have Kale and Frost go on their manga rampages, eliminating a lot of the fodder in spectacular and believable fashion.
• Trim a lot of the Vegeta wank.

Broly:
• Have Goku actually use, and fail with, Ultra Instinct, before he resorts to Fusion.

Moro:
• Remove the lines about Vegeta being better at ki control than Goku on Yardrat.
• Don't have #17 and #18 say that they have no ki. Ki is life force, which they absolutely have, even if it cannot be sensed via normal means.
• Remove any lines that make Goku treat being a space cop with any gravitas or importance.
• Don't have Goku try to give Moro a Senzu and ask him if he's ever trained before. Or, if you want to keep that, have Moro exhibit some fighting junkie tendencies beforehand.
• Redesign Merus and all of Moro's jailbreak goons.

Granola:
• Most of the Bardock stuff can stay, but remove Goku giving a damn about him.
• I don't remember if it was just in this arc, or if it was present in Moro as well, but stop spinning wheels on Ultra Instinct. Stop flip flopping on which hair color is better for it. Stop slapping new adjectives on it. Don't make Bardock the key to Goku learning the best one.

Super Hero:
• The Clean God thing isn't that funny. Have Goten and Trunks be enamored with a different Super Hero and take design cues for their costume from them. It doesn't have to be Saiyaman, but that would be an improvement.
• Remove the meditation stuff. Stop trying to make Vegeta seem like a wisened master, and Goku the novice. Remember who graduated from Ultra Instinct University, and who had to drop out.
• Have Goten and Trunks use Super Saiyan against Cell Max.
• Have their Gotenks fusion actually work in the aftermath while they're fighting Gohan.

There's probably other stuff I'm not thinking of, but those are all of my gripes with Super as a whole that I'd undo or modify.

Super is such a train wreck that you'd need a page 1 rewrite from the ground up to fix it.

Let's start:

2008 OVA: I like this the way it is. Vegeta's brother and Gohan showing signs of becoming a martial arts trainer will be plot points I revisit later on.

Battle of Gods: Perfect the way it is.

Daima: Trunks' age is changed, but other than that everything is as is.

Resurrection F:

Act1:

A flashback is shown of Freeza being resurrected one year after the battle with Cell, which gives him 10 years to train before he meets the cast again.
We jump back to the present day and get caught up with what everyone's up to.
Goku and Vegeta are picked up by Whis to go train on Beerus' planet.
Beerus says that he made a bet with Whis that he's now capable of being a teacher himself.
Whis says that Goku will train with him, while Beerus takes on Vegeta as his student.
The teacher with the best student gets to eat as much earth food as they want, while the loser can't go anywhere near earth for an entire year.
Back on earth, Goten and Trunks are training with Gohan, who's become their full time martial arts teacher like his future counterpart was to Trunks of that timeline.
Supreme Kai and Old Kai invite Piccolo to train on their planet, citing the incidents with Buu and Gomah as a reason for wanting more strong fighters to be ready if the occasion ever called for it.
We then move to King Kai's planet where Tien and Krillin are there training due to a request from King Kai. The Kai says it's been so long since he trained Goku that he wants to make sure he still has it in him to produce capable warriors.

Act 2:

We then transition to Freeza's spaceship, where we see him visiting different planets in order to put an army together again.
Unlike before, Freeza is looking for quality over quantity, so what they lack in numbers they make up for in power.
Freeza is then seen talking to Sorbet, who informs him that earth's strongest fighters are not on the planet.
We find out that he had men there since he was resurrected who kept him up to date until they were killed when Super Buu erased earth's population.
Freeza is aware of Goku's ability to go Ssj3 and his fight with Fat Buu before returning to the afterlife.
We're then introduced to the new Freeza force, five strong looking individuals.
Freeza then proceeds to explain what they're up against, and what he himself went through in order to ensure victory against his enemies.

Act 3:

Back on earth, we're shown the end of a training session in which Gohan says how impressed he is with Goten and Trunks' progress.
Gohan is then contacted by King Kai who informs him of Freeza's soon arrival.
He tells him exactly where he'll land, and that Tien and Krillin will meet him there.
Gohan tells Goten and Trunks to stay back, but they manage to convince him to take them along.
Freeza indeed lands where King Kai said he would, accompanied with his new Freeza force.
Freeza explains to them how and when he was resurrected, as well as some more information about his training.
Freeza tells Trunks it's nice to see him, but Trunks is unaware of who he is. Gohan tells him he'll explain everything later.
When asked about Goku, Gohan informs him that he'll fight in his father's place.
A fight breaks out between earth's 5 warriors and Freeza's 5-men force.
Krillin and Tien take down the two they fight using the Kaioken ×25, but their bodies are completely wrecked and can't fight anymore.
Goten and Trunks both demonstrate the ability to use Ssj2 and make easy work of their opponents, but they struggle to maintain the form.
Gohan as a Ssj1 completely obliterates the person he's fighting.
Freeza in his 4th form steps into the ring, stating that he's aware of Gohan's power decrease compared to when he fought the bug guy.
It's here that Gohan realizes that his men were spying on them for years without them realizing it.
He informs him that much has happened since his men were killed by Buu, and that he's kept up with his training.
He then powers up to Ssj2 and fights more or less evenly with Freeza's 4th form.
Although equal in power, Gohan's combat experience and training give him the edge in certain scenes.
Freeza gets frustrated with this development, resulting in him revealing his secret weapon: Golden Freeza.
Gohan asks what this transformation is, to which Freeza replies that it's a simple power up, rather than an actual mutation.
Unaware of Gohan's ultimate state, Freeza is surprised when he seemingly powers down.
Freeza then soon realizes that he's gotten stronger than he was as a Ssj2, but he's still weaker than his Golden power up.
Krillin tells Goten and Trunks to jump in with fusion, but Trunks tells him Gohan has this int he bag. Goten then says that Gohan told them to not rely on fusion so often, to which Tien supports.
As the fight continues, Gohan gets the upper hand again as a result of Freeza not training this thing properly.
Freeza reverts back to his 4th form, and then Gohan fires a massive Kamehameha at him.
The dust clears to reveal that Beerus blocked Gohan's attack.
Beerus tells Gohan to stand down.
Goku and Vegeta are there with Whis. Piccolo also arrives with Kibito.
Vegeta tells Beerus to get out of the way so he can finish him off. Goku tells him to wait a second before Piccolo backs Vegeta.
King Kai also arrives (somehow) and tells everyone that it wasn't a coincidence they were all asked to come train at the same time.
Freeza laughs and says that the rulers of the universe have taken his side, but he's grabbed by Beerus and told he'll face a fate worse than death if he says another word.
Goku then breaks his silence and demands an explanation for what's going on.
The story ends with Whis telling them that their fight with Beerus, their successful attempt at killing Buu, and their adventure in the demon realm have caught the attention of a very dangerous being. Freeza will be essential to your survival.

To be continued/revised.

Battle of Gods:

I like it the way it is. I guess since we have a SS3 Vegeta now, he can use the form vs Beerus.
I also would have a line somewhere about the ritual only being able to be used once per group of Saiyans, to avoid pesky questions about why nobody else used it

Resurrection F:

Ditto on Freeza using a RoSaT to train
More people fight Freeza's soldiers.
Boo, Gotenks and Gohan face some of Freeza's weaker forms.
Goku uses the yellow Super Saiyan forms again.
God is still the strongest form for now.
Whis refuses to turn back time, Freeza survives and this leads into the next arc.

Universe 6:

I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with this arc but I do find it boring, so I'm just gonna rewrite it a lot
Gang tried to collect the Super DBs to wish back Earth following Freeza destroying it. They discover Champa and hold a tournament to decide who gets the wish, and who keeps Earth
7v7 tournament
Tenshinhan and Gohan included, Boo can still fail the test but uses magic to cheat the score and pass (like he cheated the results of the 28th Budokai bracket)
U6 includes Dr. Rota and Saonel as their extra 2
Tenshinhan vs Dr. Rota, Tenshinhan wins
Tenshinhan vs Botamo, Tenshinhan rings Botamo out
Tenshinhan vs Magetta, Magetta wins
Boo vs Magetta, Boo wins
Boo vs Frost, Frost wins by outsmarting Boo and ringing him out. Frost is actually a good guy in this version, but will resort to cheating in order to secure funding from Champa to his cause
Gohan vs Frost, Gohan has the upper hand, Frost cheats and wins
Piccolo vs Frost, Piccolo manages to outsmart Frost, Frost cheats and wins. Jaco catches him. Gohan and Piccolo reinstated. Piccolo wins.
Piccolo vs Saonel. Saonel hates Piccolo at a glance because he can sense he's a fused being, which is forbidden in U6 - I think this is cool since he ends up fusing later with his planet for the ToP. They fight and draw with a mutual KO.
Vegeta vs Cabba, Vegeta wins
Vegeta vs Hit, Hit wins
Gohan vs Hit, Gohan puts up a good fight but Hit wins
Goku vs Hit, same fight as the manga version but Goku unveils Super Saiyan Blue for the first time in the series here
Rest goes as before, Earth is wished back at the end

Zamasu:

Ditto on keeping the RF Gis here and throughout the rest of Super.
Vegeta here catches up and acquires Blue too
I don't have a preference for Trunks either having a mastered SS2 form or a Rage form, but if it's Rage just explain it better
Vegetto has a new Gi design
Arc follows the manga more or less but keeps the anime's infinite Zamasu and ending

Tournament of Power:

Mostly the same, Freeza's still alive and got stronger, so instead of Goku visiting the the Otherworld to bargain, he visits his homeworld. It'd be hard to think of a reason to include Freeza if you can't bargain for his revival, but I guess you can just promise him any wish he wants
Arc follows the manga more or less but keeps #131 from the anime the same
Freeza wishes to become 5cm taller at the end of the arc

Broly:

Keep the original Bardock story from the special

Not sure what to change on the following stories. Not that they're perfect but I just haven't thought of anything.

Hindsight is 20/20. I'd go back in time and:

Make Super a series of movies instead; all of them scripted by Toriyama. If that means changing certain arcs entirely from the ground up, so be it.

Alternatively, wait for the manga to get far ahead (or finish) and animate it faithfully instead of this bizarre sub-continuity direction they went with. An overstaffed kitchen and lack of planning is what made the TV anime so dreadful.

I have no interest in suggesting individual changes, even for the stories I may not have enjoyed. I didn't establish the foundation or do any of the narrative heavy lifting there, so it's just not something I'd entertain.
Modern DB story arc scores:

1. Battle of Gods (movie, extended cut).
2. Satan vs. Gelbi, to "explain" the Earthlings what took place that shook the planet. Satan is granted more money to reward his "heroism".
Goku revives King Kai, Bubbles and Gregory.
Lunch escapes prison for the 100th time and makes the news as stated by Akira Toriyama in Dragon Ball Online.
3. Vegeta becomes Whis' student and Goku tags along.
4. A fully fledged Watagash arc: Mr. Satan is starring a movie about his "heroic last battle with Beebus", the villain is played by Barry Kahn who is obsessed with Videl whom he knew since before she married Gohan (Mr. Satan arranged Gohan to be Kahn's stuntman, despite Barry being a total dick to him).
Barry can't stand that Videl who turned down his dating offer two years ago is carrying Gohan's child and is taken over by Watagash who escaped from Jaco's grasp due to incompetence; Videl is attacked by the possessed Barry while resting in her dad's caravan and after she tries to fight Watagash-Barry, she eventually falls short to his rising power and is taken hostage until she'll accept Barry's demand to be his.
Gohan leads the rescue mission with Mr. Satan and Jaco joining. The film's crew capture the whole thing on film, dubbing the possessed Barry "Beebus".
Satan lands the last punch to Watagash-Barry and have his "winner shot" as the villain crumbles before Gohan.
5. Champa's tournament after he ate Earth's delicacies over Beerus' planet happens. Goku and Vegeta can only go Super Saiyan God by will. Gohan never lost any of his power after the Buu Saga, but can't attend due to the important conference at his university. Majin Buu cheats the test, fights and defeats Botamo but falls asleep mid-battle against Frost and is disqualified.
Frost poisons Goku who is next to fight, then Piccolo, and Vegeta easily takes him out after Jaco's acknowledged that he's cheating. The rest follows as was.
6. Team Universe 7 goes to Universe 6 and visits Planet Sadala and Vegeta is sad that his life led him to be as far as can be fron these peace protecting Saiyans.
Slice of life episodes such as Champa's baseball match as a reason for him and Vados to eat some more of Earth's delicacies; and then Hit vs. Goku, part 2.
Pilaf attempts to take over the world yet fails again, as Toriyama wrote in Dragon Ball Online. I'd use Trunks and Goten.
7. Zamasu Arc without any Future Trunks nor body swapping involved, everything happens in the main timeline.
After Zamasu witness Champa's Tournament on Gowasu's GodTube he is striken with anxiety and loses his mind, he asks Gowasu to take him to meet Goku, while on Earth he learns that Bulma has created a Super Dragon Balls radar, and upon returning to Universe 10 murders Gowasu, thus nullifying Rumushi and Kus and contunues to slaughter Team Universe 10 who were training on Rumushi's planet and then he uses his Kaioshin skills to move back into Universe 7 and steals Bulma's Super Dragon Balls radar which he uses to quickly collect Universes 6 and 7's Super Dragon Balls.
He then simply asks to be much stronger than the mortals who scared him (he phrases it so he'd be much stronger than whomever is stronger between Hit and Goku), he then goes to New Namek and forces the Namekians to gather their Dragon Balls for him to achieve immortality. He slays them and invades the Earth and starts genociding the Earthlings as punishment for mortals accessing God Ki; Bulma, Videl (Mr. Satan watches over Pan), Android 18 and Chiaotzu go on a Dragon Balls hunt on Earth to ask Shenron to strip off Zamasu's immortality as Goku, Vegeta, Majin Buu, Gohan, Piccolo, Gotenks, Tien, Yamcha and Krillin confront him on North City. The Grand Priest appears at the aftermath and shows that he can undo an entire month of history (while Angels can only do 3 minutes at best), thus all of Zamasu's victims in both Universe 10 and Universe 7 and cosmos interferences are undone.
8. Zeno is bored and asks Goku to come over, he convinces Zeno to have the Tournament of Power. The roster of Team Universe 7 is the same as the Z-Fighters against Zamasu, with only Android 18 replacing Yamcha due to Beerus' suggestion that they need her due to her tireless stamina and coordination with her husband. Jiren will be defeated by Super Saiyan God Goku and Majin Buu working together to mark both the reverse of Buu's threat a few years ago and the soaring power potential Buu has.
No Frieza rehashing nor giving Android 17 power inflation.
9. Moro happens with him releasing all the prisoners at once as he breaks free, but since Cranberry doesn't know where New Namek is, he questions the Galactic Prison guards about their intelligence about the Dragon Balls and decides that he and his army of convicts will invade the Earth.
After a 3 months journey of life absorbings across the universe, which was used to power up himself and his subordinates, they land on Earth as Goku and Vegeta are on Beerus' planet and collect and use the Dragon Balls to summon Shenron.
The dou return to Earth to brawl him. The Galactic Patrol land as well.
Moro releases his true power from the Grand Kaioshin's magic seal and doesn't double-cross Cranberry (for him to be Chiaotzu's rival) and his dark magic is much better (like nightmare hallucinations to SSG Vegeta and subdural pressure upon his enemies till they lose both confidence and consciousness) and varying than it was.
Each Z-Fighter is accompanied by a Galactic Patrol platoon as he/she fights Moro's subordinates (Saganbo's gangsters and their lesser lackeys).
Upon failing to stand up to Majin Buu's abilities that nullify his dark magic, Moro merges with OG-7-3i and doesn't resembles Perfect Cell.
Merus *temporarily* sacrifices himself to free/unleash/restore the souls Moro absorbed and fed to his lackeys. Everyone lend Goku their strength and he finishes Moro off.
10. Multiverse exploration.

I want to “fix” or “remake” it taking into account the context of the time. The premiere date would still be July 5, 2015, which seemed impossible to change for Fuji TV, Toei Animation and Bandai.

First of all, I wouldn’t do a manga adaptation because I understand that Dragon Ball Super should be a unique product. After all, it is an original animated series, not based on a manga.

Pre-Production

Tadayoshi Yamamuro would remain as character designer, while there would be instructions to follow the colors chosen by Akira Toriyama. In other words, Trunks and Bulma would have the same hair color (blue).

Gohan’s “Ultimate” form would be seen as a transformation, allowing Gohan to have his normal eyes most of the time, which seems to be a trend of the original author in recent years.

Images from 'Battle of Gods' and 'Resurrection F' would be reused/redrawn to omit the work of the animators in the episodes that adapt these films.

Considering the tight schedule of the series, it would be necessary to balance the amount of action episodes so that nothing melts on the screen.

Finally, the series would not make any references to characters originally created for the Dragon Ball Z TV series, functioning as a spiritual sequel to Akira Toriyama's manga. In other words, no Gregory, no disciples of Mr. Satan, no Vegeta as a child with the appearance of the TV Special and other things.

Battle of Gods

The events of the film would be adapted without any significant changes for the most part, although they would be stretched out to work at the pace of a weekly TV series. 10 episodes are more than enough to tell this story, don't you think?

• The first two episodes should be about Goku gaining Chi-Chi's permission to train with North Kaiō and Vegeta traveling with his family, emphasizing his change as a person (this will be important later);

• The events of the film effectively begin in episode 3, depicting Beerus' awakening and the search for the Super Saiyan God;

• Add a flashback showing when the Pilaf Gang became children again and emphasize Mai and Trunks' strange romance (this will be important later on);

• Goku uses his three transformations against Beerus on Kaiō's planet. The massive reuse of scenes from the previous episode makes the animators try a little longer to deliver a good action episode;

• From then on, it will be exactly like the film, except for small insertions to match the rhythm of an episodic series;

• Add information about the book of legends of Namekku-sei;

• Goku and Beerus' fight has the same beats as the film, but make it longer to fit into two/three episodes;

• The Super Saiyan God isn’t just a temporary form here. Goku would eventually absorb the transformation, just as we see in Toyotarō’s manga adaptation;

• The conclusion is the same as the movie, but make sure to include small appearances by Champa and Vados, as well as a hook for Resurrection ‘F’;

Resurrection ‘F’

It’s time to breathe. Four or five transition episodes will be necessary to allow the next arcs to not melt away. Would this be a good time to focus on everyday stories of Mr. Satan winning another martial arts tournament? Goten and Trunks at school? Kuririn becoming a police officer? The possibilities are endless.

After this short break, it’s time to start the next arc. I think six episodes is enough.

• Dedicate an entire episode to Goku and Vegeta convincing Whis to train them, as referenced in Resurrection ‘F’;

• In the next episode, we see a bit of Whis' training, the new uniforms (which will remain until the end of the series), as well as the beginning of Sorbet's plan to bring Freeza back to life;

• The flow of the story is the same as the movie. The idea here is to treat this story as something inconsequential in order to offer a transition to the next arc;

• We don't have Piccolo's death or Gohan trying to return to action;

• Unlike the movie, Goku will use the Super Saiyan God against Freeza. I particularly like that this draws a parallel with the two legends mentioned in Dragon Ball Minus and Freeza's fear of them;

• Goku is knocked down by Sorbet's weapon when he is in base form;

• Surprising everyone, Vegeta ends up transforming into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, which would basically be the combination of Super Saiyan with godly Ki, not being necessary to have Super Saiyan God to achieve this power;

• We get the same conclusion as the movie, but treat Goku's intervention to kill Freeza in a more comedic way;

The God of Destruction Champa

This is the simplest arc to do, because I really like it the way it is. It's just about taking the strengths of each medium and fitting them with the previous two. 10 episodes seems like a lot enough for that.

• Follow the structure that Toyotarō adopts in the manga, although it portrays this story with a better pace than a monthly promotional manga of 20 pages per chapter;

• Show Goku and Vegeta recruiting Piccolo and Majin Buu;

• Discard the training in the Time Chamber. This resource is repetitive and makes no sense within the logic of the series;

• Expand Jaco and Bulma's side-quest to Zuno's planet. It's great to see the interaction between these two characters;

• Majin Buu should fail because he can't even write his own name. The excuse of sleep was already repetitive at that point;

• The results of the battle remain the same;

• Instead of the Kaioken, Goku reveals the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in front of everyone, leaving Vegeta impressed (not furious), after all, they are on the same team now;

• The conclusion remains the same. The Nameless Planet is the last Dragon Ball and Beerus restores the Earth of Universe 6;

Future Trunks

The overall structure would be more similar to what we see in the manga, reducing the amount of time travel and trips to Universe 10. 12 episodes are enough to tell this story.

• The beginning remains 1:1 with episodes 47 and 48 of the Dragon Ball Super anime, except that the characters in the present are celebrating their victory in the tournament, making the arcs more integrated;

• Dedicate some space to show in more detail Trunks' battle against Babidi and Dabura in the future, as well as the death of the Kaiōshin;

• There is no appearance of Goku Black in the present, much less the confrontation between Goku and Zamasu in Universe 10. All investigation into Black's identity follows 1:1 with Toyotarō's manga;

• Trunks meets Gohan again, as we see in episode 52. It is essential to draw this parallel between the present and future of the two characters and the idea of a quiet and peaceful life that Trunks longs for;

• The moment on Planet Babari is essential to Zamasu's motivation;

• Kaiōshin and Beerus are tasked with going after Zamasu, who by this point already knows everything about Goku and saw his fight against Hit in the last tournament. His evil intentions are revealed and he ends up being killed by Beerus;

• The first fight in the future takes place just like episodes 56 and 57, as well as revealing Zamasu's plans for the Zero Human Plan and Trunks' fury to allow Goku and Vegeta to escape. Essentially, it is a mix between episodes 56, 57, 60 and 61;

• Goku is in charge of learning the Mafuba and applying it to Zamasu, but he gets the wrong seal and the villain escapes;

• We have the confrontation between Vegetto and Zamasu (fused), as well as an entire sequence of Trunks defeating the weakened villain (without Genki-Sword);

• Everything involving Infinite Zamasu is 1:1 with the manga, although the emotional charge is more in line with the anime (even a little sadder). Keep the scene of Trunks meeting Gohan again and regretting not having saved his world;

Universe Survival

I find this one unnecessarily long for how basic it is in relation to the other universes. The manga version pleases me more in terms of structure and use of the battle-royale. 20 episodes are enough to tell that.

• As said, the structure of the arc and the Tournament of Power itself should be 1:1 with the manga, with only a few changes and insertions;

• Save Kale and Caulifla's transformation for the Tournament of Power and focus only on the relationship between the three Saiyans from Universe 6;

• Keep that funny moment of Vegeta struggling to tell Trunks that Freeza has become a different person;

• Kale doesn't have a distinct transformation. She's just the original Super Saiyan with yellow hair, no muscles, getting out of control because of her personality and learning to control it because of her special connection with Caulifla;

• Extend Gohan and Kefla's fight to an entire episode dedicated to her;

• Everything involving the appearance of Ultra Instinct (Omen) and the controlled version in the final battle should be 1:1 with the anime;

• Goku and Vegeta fight together like in the manga, being a culmination of that divergence between the two seen in Resurrection 'F';

• Beerus and the Gods of Destruction were finally overcome by Goku and this ends a cycle started there in Battle of Gods;

• Keep the outcome as we saw in episode 131 of Dragon Ball Super in its entirety;

Broly and Super Hero

There's not much to change about them. I'm particularly happy with them the way they are. I would only make a few changes:

• Remove Super Saiyan God Vegeta (it doesn't make sense with what I've established before);

• Remove the subplot of Bardock sending Goku to Earth, as it doesn't add anything to Broly's story;

• Keep only Super Saiyan Broly and remove Super Saiyan Full Power. It's just clunky fanservice that doesn't contribute anything to the story and confuses more people about the old Broly. Keep things simple: it's just regular Super Saiyan, who is out of control because Broly is out of control. He will master this in the future;

• Instead of sending Broly to another planet, have Cheelai and Lemo calm him down and end the fight. It seems like a better conclusion to the development of the relationship between these three characters;

• Cut down on that section on Beerus' Planet in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. We just need to know that they're not out of touch. We don't need Goku acting like he's ignorant about martial arts and training with Vegeta;

• Remove Gohan Beast. "Ultimate Gohan" already does the job of being the character's strongest form;

THE END
