Ok, thanks. I've got a question. How much do the Dragonball Z Season Box Sets Cost? I'm planning on buying some tomorrow.

I bought Season 1 for twenty-something, I believe.
But then I saw 4 for sale at $50, so I think it really depends on where you shop. Best Buy and Wal-Mart have the cheapest prices I've seen.

Thanks. Was the set worth buying? Was the quality as good as Chris Sabat says?

Oh lord you don't realize the Pandora's Box you opened.
People have very very different opinions on the quality of the sets. I'd recommend looking up the Season set discussions using the search function.

Basically it goes like this.
+ Lots of episodes at a great price
+ Bilingual with Steve Simmons Subtitles
+ English dub with Japanese music (this one gets half a mark, because there are missing pieces)
- Cropped to widescreen (You're losing about 20% of the original frame)
- Bad "Remastering" you're getting a blurry picture and serious problems during the instances the camera shakes (like when a character is powering up for example) where all of the black lines freak out and disappear.
So if you're willing to overlook the horrible video presentation, these are a good way to start, and considering all the old FUNimation singles are out of print, these are your best bet, unless you feel like importing the Dragonbox singles.
I don't know what Chris Sabat said, but these sets are a deeply flawed product, however it's basically what you'll have to settle for.

$20 for the whole Saiyan Saga was definitely worth it. I have a little TV, so the widescreen barely shows up at all (I mean, it looks fullscreen) and I wasn't bothered much by the disappearing lines.
It's really the best way to get the episodes cheap, legal, and English.

I own two of them myself.
But I opted to track down the rest of the series in single releases because I'm a jerk like that.

Yeah, since the Youtube videos of the episodes are always pulled down and I want my own, I guess you're right. That IS the best way to get good DBZ episodes.

Haha!
I own the first two seasons, I bought them only because it's the only legal way to get those episodes uncut and bilingual (Apart from the first 22 episodes or so released under the Ultimate Uncut label, which I also own)
So..I'll be keeping them.

Be sure to pick up the specials if you're going for it. They have amazing quality, Japanese music and eye catchers intact. I barely noticed the cropping just because the remastered colors were so accurate and I finally got to hear the English Bardock's voice over Soild State Scouter.

Yeah... I was at Best Buy yesterday eyeing the sets they had for $35 each. The problem is I don't know if I'll buy them and then the next day Funi will release yet another set that has the same stuff but without the HD mangling and everything.
$35 is cheap though. I remember when a single DBZ DVD would be like $20 or $30, and I have a bunch of those. I suppose it's worth it either way, then, right?

I recently bought Season 3 for about $30, and I definitely think it was worth the price. I personally like the look of widescreen on my DVD. Granted, I'd like for it to be done without losing part of the picture, but I really don't care about it that much. The colors look fine to me, and I don't ever really look close enough to see those dissapearing lines.
However, there is one thing I notice. At one point Goku punches Freeza in the gut and he spits out blood, as people do in anime, but the blood looked kind of..."pinkish". Did Freeza have red blood? Because Goku's looked normal.
Please don't think I'm some kind of homicidal maniac who's obsessed with blood >.<
