What if Raditz didn't tell Vegeta and Nappa's arrival time...
Before Raditz death, he contacted Vegeta and Nappa, who are on there way to Earth, arriving in 1 year; realistically, they arrived month earlier.
What if Raditz didn't told the time frame?
After all, Goku didn't told Raditz how they found Gohan by Dragon Radar (though, Piccolo did told about Dragon Ball), so it would make sense that Raditz wouldn't tell the time frame as well.
I can see scenario like
Goku "When will they be here?"
Raditz "You have to wait and see. Mwahahahahahahah!"
(Piccolo gives final blow)
That would make his dying words even deadlier, since none of the characters, including Fortuneteller Baba and Kami can't predict when Vegeta and Nappa arrive.
For all they know, it may as well be in month, week, or day.
It would put our fellow warriors a big dilemma with not much mental and physical preparation.
Raditz mentioning "1 year" was quite generous (though he didn't expect them to become really strong), which helped warriors prepared for battle, despite BARELY winning with massive casualties and damages.
How would rest of the Saga turned out?
Would Piccolo even trained Gohan without developing proper schedule (6 month surviving wilderness + 6 month of combat training)?
Goku would be the only warrior fully mentally and physically trained, since King Kai know about Saiyan arrival and specific training period of 6 month, but without other having proper time to train, the battle would be very tough and everyone would mostly die before Goku's arrival.
What do you guys think?

Interestingly, he Radditz still messed up, since Saiyans arrived about month earlier
But yes, that would mess everything up, would Goku even go to Kaio for training? Unless God could somehow calculate how long would it take for Saiyans to arrive, would he risk it?

Well, worst case scenario, everyone dies. And I mean everybody--if they slack on their training, they're toast. Piccolo and Tenshinhan would train as hard as normal, but everybody else is... mixed. Piccolo might even make it harder on Gohan--for all they know, the Saiyans could arrive literally tomorrow.
But back to the worst case. If everyone slacks, then they all die and Goku shows up to find everybody dead. Best case, Goku goes Super Saiyan and beats Vegeta. Second tier of worst case scenario, he beats Nappa but gets turbo-whomped by Great Ape Vegeta and crushed. Then we know the story--Cell shows up, Androids get absorbed, Buu pulls up, yadda yada.
Best case scenario? The stress gives everyone SUCH a big panic attack that they're over-prepared. I think the only benefits this would reap is like, maybe Krillin is hardier, and Tenshinhan can manage to avoid getting his arm lopped off. Maybe Yamcha can survive a Saibaman explosion?
Gohan is a neeeeerd.

Yeah. This might actually work out in their favor. They would have Kami and Popo with the Dragon Balls on standby constantly and could get Goku there sooner. It also adds more motivation for the Earthings - including washouts like Yajirobe - to get stronger faster.coola wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:11 am Interestingly, he Radditz still messed up, since Saiyans arrived about month earlierBut yes, that would mess everything up, would Goku even go to Kaio for training? I don’t think it would change things much, I guess one could argue that Goku may opt to train on earth because he wouldn’t know when the saiyans are coming and thus wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving so easily in the event they get attacked.

Everyone gets killed so there is no way when they should get ready. Goku would show up late if they wish him back in the middle of training.

Well them not knowing when they arrive would force them to train just as hard as it could happen at any moment.
I think the only thing it changes is Goku’s plan

Bulma could possibly salvage something from Raditz Saiyan pod, like figuring out its top speed and estimating a minimum distance he travelled to get there like at least outside of their solar system.
If Goku is still sent off to Kaio's, he would be given their arrival time and could relay this info to his friends thanks to Kaio's ability.
