Episode 7 of the Daima dub marks the first time Funi's ever used Ki instead of energy
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I noticed in each of the title cards, there's one character (kanji?) that is red, while the others are black. I'm wondering if that red kanji is significant, like it's emphasizing something, or if it's just an artistic choice.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Theres something I noticed about Funimation's original dub of Dragon Ball Z episode 94. During the end narration Dale Kelly says "Finally Goku's Spirit Ball has done its job". Funny considering earlier in the Saban dub when Yamcha uses the Sōkidan/Spirit Ball Ted Cole sounds like he's saying "Spirit Bomb".

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I know there's still one episode left and he could still say it, but I don't think I've heard Goku use his wakuwaku phrase at all in Daima.
Unless I've missed it somewhere.

What do you guys feel are the main differences between kid Goku and kid Goten?
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Goku loved fighting, Goten loved playing around.Yuji wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:21 pm What do you guys feel are the main differences between kid Goku and kid Goten?
Goten was a yes man to Trunks. Goku didn't really have that.
Goku was a lot more of an ill mannered bumpkin with poor social graces. Goten still had manners instilled in him by Chi Chi ala Goran

This isn't targeted at anyone in specific because I've noticed several users doing this. But guys, please stop using ChatGPT or AI to (re)write your posts. We can tell, and nobody will mock your real writing style or fluency.

I've been meaning to say this, but I do feel like a lot of people are just using multiple accounts to make controversial and argumenative posts and it's kind of driving me insane, so I'm glad that I'm not the only person seeing some weirdness going on.Yuji wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 3:53 pm This isn't targeted at anyone in specific because I've noticed several users doing this. Is it just me, or does Jingle Village feel like the coziest place in the series? I remember watching the Muscle Tower section of the Red Ribbon Army Arc on a very cold day, and it felt like I was right there with Goku. I honestly felt a little sad when he had to leave...

Went to the SS4 talk page on the db wiki and saw this
https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Talk ... s_possible.
That DragonEmeperor guy is going to be salty as hell that random user #9000 was right. lol
Basically, Goku only knew there was another form and had not got it yet. This confirms it, the director said the form is BORN due to Neva. It mentions the orangish light coming from Goku as representing the Ozaru as well.

There's no need to jump on people, particularly on some external site. Leave the drama where it is, without creating unnecessary add-on baggage, please. What's going on there has absolutely no relevance to discussions or documentation on this website.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I'm watching Kai for the first time with my bestie, who hasn't seen like any Dragon Ball content, and honestly, kinda watching it with a pretty fresh pair of eyes, I realized, I love Raditz as a villain. I know given everything, he's a bit of a joke, and not taken super seriously, but honestly I think the way he's presented is hella cool lol. At least in the anime, he's like so noticeable bigger then Goku at this point, his exposition is cool (even if wrong lol), his outfit is sick, I love Chiba's voice for him, the design is obviously iconic, and I love a lot of the shots where he beats up on Goku at Kame House, and after he gets Goku to drop his guard, they're really cool and really memorable.
I have borderline personality disorder, if my posts ever come off as aggressive or word vomit-y to you, please let me know.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
It's been a while since I've watched Kai in Japanese (or any language) but I feel like I recall Chiba was definitely half assing the performance in Kai I remember loving his performance in Z and then hearing it in Kai and being like "oh.....I don't like this"Soppa Saia People wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 8:46 pm I'm watching Kai for the first time with my bestie, who hasn't seen like any Dragon Ball content, and honestly, kinda watching it with a pretty fresh pair of eyes, I realized, I love Raditz as a villain. So if you and your bestie enjoyed his performance in Kai, definitely need to check it out in Z!

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Yeah, he definitely sounded worse, I did moreso meant his performance in the original Z anime. One of my concerns going into it has actually been the Japanese performances, but I think everyone sounds fine enough, and none of the main cast sounds particularly bad. And without a frame of reference I don't think I'd really notice all that much anyway.MasenkoHA wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:39 pm It's been a while since I've watched Kai in Japanese (or any language) but I feel like I recall Chiba was definitely half assing the performance in Kai I remember loving his performance in Z and then hearing it in Kai and being like "oh.....I don't like this"

Tsuru's performance as Bulma in the first few episodes of Kai was absolutely horrendous. Thankfully she improves pretty fast, I have no idea what she was trying to do there.Soppa Saia People wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 5:14 am Yeah, he definitely sounded worse, I did moreso meant his performance in the original Z anime. Some dumb GT-related questions:
If Earth blows up, shouldn't a planet that seems to be so near by suffer somehow from it?
Wasn't Baby putting himself at risk, too, when garlicking Earth?
And if the Black DBS scattered each to different points of the universe, shouldn't it be impossible to gather them in only 12 months?
I know it's a cartoon, and logic doesn't always apply, so it gets a pass, but some of the spheres seemed to have landed relatively close to another, when none of them should be close at all.

We're talking about the same dragon balls allegedly created by the Nameless Namekian before he split himself...the dragon balls he created to destroy the very planet he was living on and trying to become its Kami even though he wasn't evil just had evil in his heart...but apparently wanted to play Russian Roulette with the planet he was staying on because why even become Earth's Kami if you can't risk killing everyone including yourself? Also King Piccolo didn't know what dragon balls were until Pilaf told him, which made sense because Kami created them after the split and probably after Piccolo was imprisoned but if the original Namekian created his own dragon balls,, King Piccolo should definitely know what dragon balls are. ..Koitsukai wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 7:44 pm Some dumb GT-related questions:

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
The thing that gets me is that King Kai, who happened to be spying on them at the time to see what was happening, knew what the Black Star Dragon Balls were and how they worked. Which implies he's seen them used before, and a planet destroyed by them. Good thing he happened to be watching when all this happened, though, because without being there to lore dump unprompted, the heroes would have no way to know any of this, they wouldn't have gone searching for the balls, and they would have just blown up. lolMasenkoHA wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 1:26 amWe're talking about the same dragon balls allegedly created by the Nameless Namekian before he split himself...the dragon balls he created to destroy the very planet he was living on and trying to become its Kami even though he wasn't evil just had evil in his heart...but apparently wanted to play Russian Roulette with the planet he was staying on because why even become Earth's Kami if you can't risk killing everyone including yourself?
