I don't think I've seen this topic pop up here yet, which is weird considering the site's focus on accurate translations (apologies if it has and I've just missed it).
Neva and other characters in Daima refer to the original Namek people born in the Demon Realm as ナメック人 Namekku-jin or "Namek People", rather than the previously more common ナメック星人 Namekku-seijin or "People from Planet Namek". I believe the former has been previously used in the franchise, but the issue of Namekians not originally being from planet Namek is only a recent phenomenon thanks to revelations in the Super manga and Daima.
Are people generally still referring to those born on planet Namek as "Namekians", and the original emigrant population from the Second Demon World as "Nameks"? Just wondering because that might mess with the naming conventions Kanzenshuu uses for other species, i.e. Tsufuru-jin as "Tsufruian" rather than "Tsufrus" or something.
What are we now calling "Namekians" from the Demon Realm?

I think in English, just using "Namekian" for everything works fine. It's the same as words like "Japanese" or "German". You use the same word to describe the language, the ethnicity or the nationality and can know which that is meant depending on the context.

It's an interesting thing to solve.
Actually it's not the first time we hear ナメック人. In the original manga and Z anime there were some rare occasions as well.
But mostly ナメック星人 of course.
With the Granolah arc Viz still kept it "Namekians" in English, while Daima went in the subtitles with "Nameks".
I guess it's a way to do it, but haven't seem the Daima dub yet, not sure if it was done there was well.
It's something easily to be lost in translation.
