The 30th anniversary remaster has been the default in the UK and Ireland since 2020/2021 as we never got the 16:9 discs, although it looks like they're coming, so anyone who wants the show in 4:3 for a cheap price better grab these before they go out of print.

And yes they are region A/B so will work on US players.

If anyone in this thread currently uses Crunchyroll to watch anime and is upset by this, it might help if you also sent in support emails.

UPDATE: The episodes have still not been fixed. Do not subscribe to CR to watch DBZ in Japanese.

Find another reason to use CR if you need to have CR.

Partially unrelated, but does Crunchyroll have the Latin American Spanish dub of DBZ available to watch, or do they only have the Japanese and English versions of DBZ?

Are you sure? When I use a VPN and set to Canada, I get the option to watch the latin american dub and it actually sounds super clear.

That's unfortunate.

Have you tried watching the French dub of Dragon Ball Z on Crunchyroll while using a VPN set to Canada?

No. Just to France. Why?

I'm sitting in my living room in Canada on Canadian internet, and the options I have on Crunchyroll.com for episode 75 of DBZ is English and Japanese.

It might have to do with my PayPal account being tied to the States, so I don't know.

In an ideal world, the much-appreciated French remaster could have continued past the halway point of the original Dragon Ball and into DBZ and be used by streaming services internationally.

Such a missed opportunity to make it all officially very decent and pleasing to watch, with correct color-correcting, respectful professional upscale, clear broadcast audio, etc... for the whole world to enjoy on streaming services or releases once the French team would have done the whole job properly!

Then again, Toei and Funi might fail to see what makes this remaster good and refuse to use it even if they were offered the opportunity to do so.

Okay, so either my memory had failures, or CR changed things. I tried setting my VPN to Canada and I got just english and japanese now. But I changed to Argentina - that gives me the options of english, japanese, brazilian portugese and mexican spanish! However, there's only spanish subs.
