Aaah, that's not surprising. Toriyama writing small blurbs and Toyo-tarou adapting those into complete chapters probably happened a lot during the entire comic. It'll be interesting to see what the original blurb looks like, someday.

Cute chapter, but man, you can really feel Toriyama's absence with this one. The SH prologue/epilogue chapters were so much better.

At least now they can push out volume 24.

And...it turns out this chapter was done by using an idea Toriyama made and left for Toyo to use or not

I mean...nobody ever will be? Toyo-tarou doesn't suddenly become the owner of the franchise, merely because Toriyama is dead. Toriyama's family will always have more power than him and he will also always had an editor to report to, because that's how making comics works.

Yeah, the new volume mentions that, but it's kinda old news. For the official site's February 2023 interview, Toyotaro says that Toriyama told him Trunks' motivation for becoming a superhero. Although none of us knew what it actually was at the time, I've always figured that 104 borrowed from it.

The chapter still reads like something largely created by Toyotaro based on footnotes from Toriyama, but without any of the latter's input or involvement. Which is to be expected at this point, I guess.

Unless there's another source that I'm missing, this is vague enough that we should not take it for granted to be confirmation of more DBS in any form. "What's next" could absolutely be some new series, it could be a Daima adaptation, it could be something far stranger and more twisted than we could ever imagine. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm not sure if I want to bother making a new thread for this, but Nagamine Tatsuya is no longer a credited series director for One Piece. Nagamine was the series director for the first half of the Tournament of Power arc and the director of Dragon Ball Super: Broly. It would be interesting if he returned as the series director for Dragon Ball Super to adapt the manga material, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he just takes a year or two off from doing anything major to rest lol

That explains it lol yeah the very concept of this cover is very rooted in fanart, I wouldn't be surprised if Toyotaro saw all of the fanarts of MUI, UE, Beast and Orange all standing together and said "I'm gonna do that"

This is so corny that it makes me think they might actually pursue the whole Black Freeza thing. Although, even if they do, it'll probably be a red herring, like the first time Freeza returned to earth for revenge.
