I'd love it if Goku, Vegeta, Broly, Gohan and Piccolo hear that Frieza is 'up to something', find him in X location in space, they all fight him, he doesn't seem to be going ALL out or is ALL evil about it, and at some point during the battle, he raises his hands, calls for a time out, and tells them that he needed all of them to arrive because they need to team up against the real threat (and it is revealed/implied that he spared Goku and Vegeta because he wanted them to train in order to be strong enough to be of use to him against the new common foe).

This would be in line with Frieza be more scheming and intelligent and more willing to temporarily push his hatred of his archnemesis in check in order to stick around a little while longer in the series. Not gonna lie, he's more or less the reason I lurk in this series nowadays.

Still on hiatus, next month V-jump issue will have a special Toyotaro poster to celebrate the manga 10th anniversary. Still, no new chapter next month.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

I wonder if the manga will continue at all. With Toriyama no longer being part of the process sadly.
I feel like the bits and pieces that were already in the process, were finished or will be finished, but now it's like everything stopped, some things like game DLCs get delayed, the bit of momentum that Dragon Ball picked up with Daima after Broly movie faded fast. I wouldn't be surprised if Dragon Ball basically ended as a bigger franchise like it did after GT and then it got revived because of it's massive popularity in US and there was a streak of video games, Kai, Super etc.

Toyotaro himself certainly seems to want to keep going. But yeah, at this moment it's completely up in the air, and depends entirely on what the higher-ups decide. And by all accounts they just haven't yet, since surely if they had just actually concluded that "Yeah Super is not going to continue" they would just say that rather than string us along month after month after month with "The series is taking a break this issue."

I don't even think the people in charge of the franchise know the answer to to this question, as they would've said either yes or no if they did. Toyotaro did say last month that the spin art for the future volumes have already been drawn, so...maybe it'll continue ? Since the inception of modern DB, the franchise has had absolutely no direction or vision, and that's with Toriyama alive guiding them. I can't even imagine how they're going to move forward now that he's gone.

Any chance they are prepping the land to release chapters weekly like back in the day? Probably not, but as an audience, I would expect some sort of "retribution" after living in the dark for, what's probably going to be, 4 years.

Du you have a source for that? I haven't heard about this and I'm quite interested
As a big fan of Dragon Ball, I should be expected to hate the live action movie "Dragon Ball: Evolution", but I don't. I don't like it because of the content, but because it gave us Dragon Ball Super:

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super.

I think he said it during the last interview they did with him, but I don't have it at the moment. I think it was conducted a month or two ago if I recall correctly. Maybe it was part of volume 24.

Thank you very much!

The line about him saying that he have drawn the spine art characters "several volumes ahead", indicates that there's still several volumes for us to enjoy, whenever Dragon Ball Super continues. This is great news!

Although this is indeed positive news, there is a chance these were done way ahead of time, maybe even before Toriyama passed on. Regardless of this, I do believe we'll get one more arc, as if we weren't they would've said so by now.

Yes, that's also what I believe. Why drag out this hiatus for so long without saying anything if there isn't coming anymore content?

I wonder how much the licensing wars behind the scenes play into this and if that's not one of the reasons.

I assume it's a reason, but whether it's the main reason or a side reason is yet to be known. Considering how mishandled this franchise has been since Z concluded back in 1995, I can't really say I'm surprised by whatever's going on here. Everything we've gotten since Z concluded just screams "we don't know what we're doing". Everything has been so random that it's hard to see a pattern to figure out what's going on.
