Dragon Ball Project: Multi, a new MOBA from Gambarion

Bamco randomly dropped this trailer a couple of hours ago. It's going to be a 4v4 MOBA developed by Gambarion (Jump Super/Ultimate Stars, One Piece Grand Battle series, Dragon Ball Fusions). There's going to be a beta later this month, from August 20th to September 3rd. They also dropped the steam page too.

This reminds me of Pokémon Unite, which was fun for a while and then I never touched it again.

Maybe I'll give it a try, irks me that this doesn't suit Dragon Ball at all. At this point, what's left? Did we ever had a FPS Dragon Ball game?

Honestly, I didn't think it was that great. The Dragon Ball The Breakers announcement was more interesting. But let's wait and see.

There's also Jump Assemble which is also a MOBA game and features Dragon Ball characters. Played it for a bit and it plays exactly like "Arena of Valor".

The beta is out! The gameplay is pretty good, though I don't usually play MOBAs so I'm not sure how to compare it to anything. There definitely seems to be a heavy gacha aspect though, which is expected for a free-to-play game. The playable roster so far, from what I've seen:

• Goku (Base, Super Saiyan)
• Vegeta (Base, Super Saiyan)
• Kid Gohan
• Future Trunks (Base, Super Saiyan)
• Piccolo
• Krillin
• Android 18
• Zamasu
• Cooler (4th Form, Final Form)

There also a selection of assist characters you can choose as well:

• King Furry (buffs your attacks)
• Farmer with a Shotgun (Shoots the opponent and applies debuffs)
• Bubbles (Buffs your speed)
• Icarus (Ride him to move faster and ram into enemies)
• Botamo (Pushes your enemies away when you rush them)
• Cabba (Buffs your defense)

Guess I have to google some league of legends to get a better idea.. I don’t really play “MOBAs” so my only frame of reference for a top-down team based action game was freaking Gauntlet Legends from PS1 lol.

My only MOBA experience was with DC and when I went into beta playing as Flash, I got messages from my teammate: "Go die in the forest, Flash!". It was quite hectic and weird gameplay, my first and last MOBA experience.
I might give it a chance, just because it's Dragon Ball, but I am afraid that it will be more on the cheap side of things, with repetitive gameplay and limited content.
I wonder if it will be PC exclusive or drop on consoles.

Anyone else playing the Beta? It has potential, these “MOBA” games aren’t in my general wheelhouse of games I play so everything feels fresh to me at the moment. I just wish there was a bit more Melee freedom, like actual combos, not anything crazy but mashing or holding down X to throw out the Dragon Ball staple of hyper fast punches and kicks feels a little dull but other wise with the right partners and chaos this could be pretty fun.
