Holy God...if you hate the Funi dub, you'll really hate this

FUNimation's definition of "uncut" is that no visual content is edited out, if your definition of "uncut" is a dub script completely faithful to the original, then FUNimation are yet to release something "uncut".

This is true. To me, uncut would be retaining the idea of the original jokes. Some of the changes were just stupid. For example, Roshi's whole "taking a walk" bit.

This reminds me of the dub for that card game show,Duelmasters. It was rewritten with crappy jokes and pop culture references. Yet this, this is MUCH worse.

Yeah, I remember that show. There were stupid fourth-wall jokes all over that show, like, "You said that to me before the commercial break, remember." or, "Hey producers, rewind the show so I can remember what happened." It was terrible.

The Duelmaster's dub was done as a parody of how ridiculous Yu Gi Oh and that are, if I remember correctly. I never saw it personally, but I have a friend who swears it's genius.

I'm portuguese and I've watched this dub my entire life, and the whole dub had the objective to be funny and not accurate to the real dbz story...

Somethings really piss me off me like every single technique used in the series is a kamahameha, some of characters voice like Ginyu and Dodoria, and the one that really hurts... the intro. The one posted before was fan-made this is the real one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyBgSKJCo1I

But you end up to get used to it, and consider everything very funny and enjoyable

In portugal we grew up watching it ... DBZ was considered a kids show, so instead of having a complicated plot for the kids to understand, they prefered to make it funny and enjoyable for the little ones. And if you were a fan and really liked the show you would end up watching the real jap version to see the show in a serious way... At least that was what me and my friends did.

Anyway it's an unserious and unobjective dub, but I don't think it is a bad one. a lot of people still see it every day and laughs with it.

Even though the people there are used to it, IMO, they essentially have a official Dragonball parody.

It's really neat to see how different countries handle DBZ, it seems as though America wasn't the only one to radically alter the show. Although it's funny how they totally 4kids'd Dragonball Z in Portugal and nobody seemed to care. I wonder how they handled the already comical Dragonball and if there were any major visual cuts.

Y'know, that sorta thing worked well with Samurai Pizza Cats. The show was pretty fun, and in their defense the only thing the got in their deal was raw footage (no scripts or notes).

hahaha Compared to this dub, we lucked out. Still doesn't make me happy with some of the choices Funi made with the U.S. version though.

I don't know what visual changes they made to Dragonball, but I know one change they made to Colonel Silver's character. In the Portuguese dub he was a nice, kind, patient, understanding guy, whereas in the Japanese version, he was a pretty mean guy. For Portugal to have made this change believable they would have had to edit out some of the scenes of Colonel Silver being the jerk that he was (like the scene where he knocks out his boxing partner and then just leaves him and walks off demanding stronger adversaries), so I'm guessing that they did make some visual changes too, at least for the sake of making their paradisaical dub make sense.

I'm sorry for the Portoguese people !

P.S: The lines are funny, especially when Vegeta want destroy the room of spirit and time's door !
