Does this forum like AI art ?

I am a Dragonball fan who recently learned to make AI art. What is the AI art policy here ?

Some people do, some don't. For me it's a cool tool for PowerPoint presentations but it's kind of soulless and can't be considered "fanmade". Many people hate it here.

AI has it's uses, pattern recognition and isolation etc. I don't like AI art. I would feel nothing at all towards it but as it keeps forcing its way into spaces I inhabit I feel quite negatively. I don't like the kind of AI that's trained on and regurgitating the work that other people created themselves.

All those AI "tributes" to Toriyama - an actual artist - people were posting after he died actually felt really offensive and in terrible taste.

I think maybe there's a case for using it for inspiration, if the piece is going to be recreated by the artist.

And if there were an AI art thread here - that's cool. It's there for the people who do enjoy it.

I did at one point dabble in using it as part of a fan project, but decided it felt icky. If I can't do it without AI then I have to settle for not being able to do it.

I don't like "art" that it will randomly generate from stolen images, but as a tool it can be great. Isolating voices, or stem separation.. I've used that for a few projects, recently ripping some instruments from Sonic Adventure 2's speed up theme for my adventure Sonic srb2 mod.

Do I "like" incredibly-resource-wasteful theft technology that does nothing but steal en masse from actual human-made art to churn out ugly, samey-looking garbage that's steadily flooding the internet and drowning out the products of genuine talent? No, I do not.

The only acceptable form of "AI-generated art" is still over 300 years away.

I'm looking forward to The Doctor's Dragon Ball halonovels when they come out in 2378.

AI Art steals art and turns into an ugly looking mess. Also, AI uses a lot of resources. You can drain an entire lake just asking for how much your item on FB can be by using stuff like ChatGPT.

I hate AI art with a burning passion. Not only do they look and/or sound ugly and illegitimate, but they're also disrespectful to human art and real human artists.

Of course we don't, you didn't even need to ask.

A person with any amount of real passion for something artistic can't ever like ai "art"
