Why create a new Russian dub? Pythagor Studio may still have the masters for the dub they did (which was unfinished).

Did 2x2 produce the Russian Dragon Ball Z dub? I thought they were just the broadcaster.

It's interesting to hear they remember about Z. Back when 2x2 premiered Super, they weirdly promoted it like it was the first time that Dragon Ball landed in Russia but obviously it wasn't the case.chalaheadchala1989 wrote: Tue Aug 12, 2025 2:02 pm i asked 2x2 3 months ago if they can air dbz again, and they said their license for dbz expired
By the way, I've read from another topic (the former Soviet countries' fans one) that you're from Kazakhstan. You must be the second person from there that I find in these forums (the other one being prollbka). It's nice to meet fans from the CIS countries.
If you don't mind, I've got a question: Is or was 2x2 available in Kazakhstan as well? All the sources I could find only mention about the Russian broadcast areas, so I'm interested to know if 2x2 was also available in the other CIS countries as well.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years

i think they will dub kai
Re: New Russian dub dbz?
Thank you so much! It's good to know that since I've been curious about how many options anime fans from the CIS countries (other than Russia) had to watch it on TV.chalaheadchala1989 wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 3:05 pm Hello! Yes, 2x2 is available in Kazakhstan, and in Belarus.![]()
I know you guys at Kazakhstan watched anime series like Naruto, Pokemon, Shaman King and Sonic X due to the presence of Jetix Russia in your TV providers and this short-lived Jetix block aired in one of your local channels (I think it was KTV? KTK?).
No idea about Cartoon Network. Did you guys receive the Russian version or the Pan-European English version that had Toonami?
Not surprising considering that Toei is currently running Kai for a second international distribution and they surely want to get the most international deals for it as possible.

Thank you again. Your answers were really helpful and cleared some of my doubts about the situation of anime in the CIS. Hopefully more members from there join these forums and share their stories.
