Dragon Ball Z Kai Redone [WIP] Kai with the redrawn scenes replaced

Kai is my preferred way of watching Z, but the horrible redrawn scenes that look like flash animation always take me out of the show. Watching the series the other day, I couldn't help but think that I wish someone would attempt to replace them. Since I dabble in editing I thought, "Why not me?"

I am currently working on recutting Kai and replacing all of the redrawn shots. I am color correcting the footage to the best of my ability, but it's not perfect. Also, Z has much more film grain than Kai, so it will never match completely, but I believe this is far less distracting than the redrawn scenes.

I've also replaced the intro, outro, and eyecatchers with the originals as the new animation style just doesn't fit in with the rest of the show imho. Lastly, I'm cutting out some of the remaining filler, although not nearly to the same extent as iamthemilkman. His work was a great inspiration to me and is what led me down this path.

I won't be sharing a link here, but Dragon Ball Z Kai Redone is on a popular archiving website under my username. It shouldn't be hard to find.

One of the hardest parts of the process is finding suitable footage of Z to use as replacements. If anyone has anything that they believe would work well, please feel free to share!

I have a finished version of the fan edit you're currently working on. It's exactly the same, redrawn scene replaced with dbox footage, needless filler removed, original opening plus eyecatch, and with a finished kikuchi re score. I haven't released it yet because I'm waiting for seed of might to finish their dbz color correction so I can incorporate it into my edit.
If you want to go ahead with your project I won't try and talk you out of it, but I feel like it would be wrong not to tell you about my version beforehand.

I figured I would throw my hat in here too. I've also created my own cut of Kai called Z-Cut, where I've replaced the scores, the OP, ED, Eyecatches and overall tried to make it closer to Z's format. Only thing I'm waiting on for it to be completed is a public release of Dragon Box footage (hopefully SOM's colour corrected version) synced up to Kai's audio. I haven't cut any filler as I'm just trying to make an alternative version of Kai's 167 episodes that's more like Z.
