So the dub of Dragon Ball Super was added to Crunchyroll in March 2024, but apparently they're streaming an early version that would be revised prior to the home video release - and this seems to have passed everyone by? The first 65 episodes seem to be cut for Adult Swim, as they have the characteristic chopped up opening/ending themes, although they still have the eyecatchers and episode previews; the rest have different credits (no Japanese cast, etc.) but no apparent cuts, so I don't know if they're the copies Funimation was streaming or something else.
Probably the most significant difference is that, for episode 26, Daman Mills originally had to fill in for Christopher Ayres as Freeza. There's also smaller quirks like the "Coming Next Chapter" text from episode 47 being replaced with English. It's gotta be a mistake (having the cut themes on Crunchyroll is so odd), but an interesting curiosity none the less. If only the "uncut/broadcast" toggle hadn't been lost in the migration from Funimation to Crunchyroll.

Is this the version of Funi Super where Vegeta says he defeated Majin Boo in episode 2?
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

This is the first I've heard of that alternate line, so I don't know. It doesn't match any of the changes I found on the Pop broadcasts, which I had assumed would be missing any later revisions or corrections on Funimation's end. The dialogue on Crunchyroll isn't the edited version, though, as they still use Mr Satan and reference "adult movies" in the first episode.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 10:13 am Is this the version of Funi Super where Vegeta says he defeated Majin Boo in episode 2?
Unfortunately my subscription has ended for now, so I can't check Crunchyroll.
