This is manga only but it's interesting to see the influence of modern material undoubtedly for Bardock and 17 placements for example.

This only includes the original manga, so newer characters introduced in Super like Jiren and Moro aren't included. It doesn't even include movie characters like Beerus. Personally, I would've liked to see everyone included, as there are so many characters introduced outside the original manga that could get pretty high up if given the chance.

I was about to be soooooo disappointed if a freaking turtle really ranked higher than Black and Zamasu.

They really ought to make a worldwide popularity poll with ALL the modern characters too, just so that the executives can see how popular Black is and finally make a movie about him like they did Freeza, Broly, and Cell (Cell who consistently ranked lower than Black in the old Super manga polls btw).

This seems to be a very popular idea that I see often. People want a single, unifying version of Super, taking the best of both Anime and Manga and combining them into one.

It's an... interesting mental exercise, I suppose. To imagine a version of Super that is a middle ground between, for instance, the anime showing Krillin vs. generic fodder character and a powerful fighter like Kefla losing off-screen in the manga.

As for myself I just want an adaptation of the manga arcs. People seem to love Bardock, at least based on this poll, so they will undoubtedly love all the spotlight he gets in the Granolah saga.

Happy to see my girl 18 doing good so far, placing in the top 9 and getting more votes than even Freeza. Hope she keeps this up.

It's something I've seen in many manga polls where they include all the characters that have appeared, even if their participation is limited to a single panel.

They even include objects in the polls. I still remember how in the Chainsawman poll, one of the characters' car surpassed the character herself.

I imagine a lot of fans voting are also fans who grew up with the old Funimation dub. Despite a lot of revisionist “I always loved Linda Young as Frieza how dare they recast” comments Funimation’s Frieza was a very unpopular villain, mostly for femmephobia reasons.
