I think OG DB and GT should definitely get story packs but it'd be cool if they add a little extra content to existing characters. Movie content branching off from the main story would be cool.

Like before the Raditz fight in Goku's story it goes backwards to Garlic Jr. or after the Cell Saga it diverges to the Fusion Reborn movie

I think we need a Future Trunks (Z) story mode added too, it's weird how it just jumped to Zamasu.
If they have the characters in the game, it should be relatively low cost to get those in the game. Even if it's flimsy, it's better than nothing. Budokai 3 also had a story mode that basically consisted of still pictures with VO and that worked fine and had a fair amount of content, and that one didn't even include DB or GT arcs. (It did include GT and movie characters in cool what if's, taking place during Z, which was an awesome way to include those)

Ideally, I would like to see some story content or even just challenges with these characters as a way to use them in unique situations. Heck, just give every character a Street Fighter like arcade mode in which they face 10 opponents related to the character, where if you beat it you get an extra character color..

Shouldn't be that hard to implement.
I would love that. Alternate colors would good for this game imo. Would give me an extra incentive to max out the stars for each character and form. Sucks that doesn’t seem to happen in online or split screen just against the computer.

I've been thinking how they could include Dragonball, a realistic roster.
Four characters per arc/DLC seems doable to me, and I while I'd love to get more, I think these are like the must-have characters for a DB experience and I'd settle. Then, one might argue we need Nam, Chichi, Arale, Devilman or King Chappa, but these ones are the essential bunch.

The 23rd TB DLC:
-Ma Junior.
-Ma Junior Giant.
-Teenager Goku.
-Cyborg Tao Pai Pai.

Piccolo Daimao Arc DLC:
-Old Piccolo.
-Young Piccolo.
-Tambourine.
-Drum.

22nd TB/RRA DLC:
-Kid Krilin.
-Tao Pai Pai.
-General Blue.
-Tenshinhan (with quadruplication technique).

I really like your pics and agree. Altho Arale and Devilman were super fun, Devilman mostly for his What if, one-shoting Freeza and Cold thanks to their evil in heart. Arale is the best crossover option for DB and gag character...
We can't be too rough on the picks anyway, as we are basically missing form for Garlic Jr. or Cooler's and Android 13's henchmen like in RB2, getting these core characters is more than we can hope for :)

Counterpoint: if there's going to be a crossover character, picks like Beelzebub and Neko Majin are infinitely more interesting than Arale (again).

i really want base lord slug to have a costume without the helmet, when he took it off moment before he went giant. its important to me to see him as a true namekian and not in giant form

Another DLC Pack Idea: Krillin Story Mode

New Costumes -
Krillin (Piccolo's Outfit)
Krillin (Buu Saga)
Krillin (Battle of Gods)
Krillin (Cop)
Krillin (GT)
Android 18 (GT)

New Characters -
Kid Krillin
Bacterian
Majora

Story Mode What Ifs -

What if Krillin killed Vegeta? (Saiyan Saga)
What if Krillin shutdown Android 18? (Cell Saga)
What if Krillin got further in the Tournament of Power? (Tournament of Power)

Does anybody know what Early Piccolo’s Explosion Demon Wave is based on?

The name makes you think of the explosive attack he tried in the 23rd TB but this one is a burst attack where he holds his wrist with the other hand. I just can’t figure out what attack it’s based on.

I was thinking it might be the attack he used against Android 17… but that’s a Kamiccolo attack. Then I thought it might be the one he used on 2nd Frieza, but it doesn’t seem like that one either.

Closest thing I could find is when Piccolo is fighting with his clones, similar pose at around 0:55

Pretty sure it’s supposed to be the attack he does when he first meets Raditz right? Same pose and everything. Also short range too like how that attack technically is in the anime.

Yes, it is the blast against Raditz that is good for uplifting dust.

Sparking Zero producer says that since launch over 1 million people play the game every month.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

Bandai is leaving soooooo much $$$ on the table by not properly supporting this game with DLC.

I mean, they HAVE put out DLC...it just kinda sucks because it's only additional characters rather than stages or modes.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

That's a total lie, or they're inflating their numbers counting people who boot it up to get some daily trophy and not touch it 10 minutes later.

It's crazy how they can get away saying "they work hard" on the game, after doing the bare minimum and only adding a single stage after a whole year, and not even unlocking Gohan Black who is all ready.

Namco Bandai and Spike have their fans on a tight leash, and then they can get away with crap like Jump Force selling millions. Because who even cares about complaints when pre-orders cover all costs and more? Clearly not the devs.

They couldn't even be bothered to add outfits for existing characters.

Like how hard could it be to add Gohan's orange gi from the Bojack movie? or Broly's black spandex from SH? Gohan's silly outfit from the Raditz arc, too.
EoZ Goku is also missing and it's a bummer.
2nd movie Z Broly might be the toughest, even though it's hair recoloring and a big scar on his chest. The moves remain the same, except maybe for EoZ Goku, which could just be another skin for DBS Goku.

It's not even a matter of adding outfits but just unlocking them for other iterations of the same character, so we could have SS3 Vegeta with his Buu arc attire, or his original saiyan armor for his latter versions.

Since I'm ranting about outfits, it sucks that the Freeza army armor cannot be battered in-fight. Vegeta sure can take huge blasts and that shit comes out of it intact.

Pretty interesting Famitsu interview that talks about the award and delves into some of the processes and philosophies that drove Sparking Zero's development.

Sadly, no hint of what the game's 2026 plans might be. I guess they want to keep that under wraps for now.

What I want from future DLCs is more Story Mode content, some costumes and new stages.

I was playing Burst Limit and got to the Bardock Saga which gave me an idea for a Bardock DLC Pack.

Characters: Bardock (Super Saiyan), Tora, Fasha, Borgos, Shugesh, Chilled and Mira

New Stages: Planet Vegeta, Planet Vegeta (Space), Planet Plant

New Costume: Bardock (Time Breaker)

Story Mode: You play through Bardock Father of Goku & Episode of Bardock with two What If Scenarios. First Scenario is Bardock going SSJ against 1st Form Frieza and defeating him. Second Scenario happens after Bardock's encounter with Chilled.

Bardock gets sent to the future and meets the Z Fighters + Kakarot, fights them and then Mira shows up to turn Bardock into the Masked Man from Xenoverse 2.

That's what the Bardock DLC from Dragon Ball Z Kakarot should have done in the first place. But because it would have been too good, we didn't get it.

Bardock becoming Time Breaker shouldn't be a what-if scenario, though. It flows much more smoothly for it to be an actual event that happens after the Bardock OVA, and then he fights the folks as a Time Breaker. The second what-if could be Bardock's mask breaks off and Goku recognizes him. But I guess Granolah saga would have to be adapted first for this to happen...
