Trying to find the original release of this artwork.

Post by nato25 » Sat Dec 20, 2025 5:51 am

I'm trying to sort my manga cards from fusion world in order of publication (the kanzenshuu manga guides are helping massively with this!). So far between the artbook and manga I've been able to date everything but this one image is stumping me a bit.

The art in question is featured on card SB02-042 as shown in this link

Apologies I'm not sure how to post and image here.

Any info I am here for. Thank you kanzenshuu community.

It’s from Weekly Shōnen Jump 1993 #12 (February 23rd, 1993; same issue as chapter 411). It appeared in a two-page spread for a character popularity ranking (Piccolo got 5th place).

The poll results:

The raw illustrations for Piccolo and the others are reprinted in Daizenshu 1 on pg. 138.

Ooh sorting in order of publication. I've considered doing this for my One Piece manga panel cards but it seemed like too much of a timesink. I'd love to see how this turns out when you're done.

These new manga sets for Dragon Ball sure are cool aren't they? I sleeve every card I get from them since they're all foils. Even Farmer with Shotgun has a beautiful foil. I just finished gathering up all the silver Tankobon cover cards and I think I'm also gonna try collecting the 14 Kanzenban covers used in the U.S. 3-in-1 volumes before finally calling it quits. But then again, if I buy those I'll have like 20 of the 34 Kanzenban covers, and I might be tempted to get the whole 34....
