Remaster of Dragon Ball on Hulu?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

It's such a shame that one of the most important anime ever made, doesn't get (or cannot warrant) a proper remaster from the film.
We are missing out on so many details.
I guess upscale really is the only way to go; it's better than nothing but it's still frustrating.

Toei is being Toei I guess.

Yeah....it's a shame. At least there are....other means....to watch Dragon Ball

But I'll be darned if I didn't think it was the SoM version at first.
Looking for these rare items/information:

Any information or recordings pertaining to Dragon Ball Z's syndicated run on WAWB
Any information regarding the stations that carried the origin Dragon Ball in the USA
Dragon Box (any deals would be nice)
Shonen Jumps with Dragon Ball in them

Toei has the BEST film prints of the series.
There's no way that best remaster should be available on on streaming platform first.
Funny thing is that they did!

...but with very little fanfare.

Sucks that it's simply an upscale, because it looks like they used the Japanese credits too, so I thought it was new. Looked good on my phone.
It’s new in the sense it’s not the same masters Funi used for the saga sets/blue bricks where they got textless materials (hence only getting the first opening and second ending).

If this is the closest we’re getting to the Dragon Box for the original series I’ll take it. Just hoping we’ll see it for the Japanese audio since it feels wasted on the dub.

In a not at all surprising turn of events “Mesaze Tenkaichi” is still missing from dub episode 28 and as such all the other missing songs still be absent.

On the one hand, it was a given Crunchymation would just dump the existing dub audio onto the new master. In the other hand I would have hoped in the year 2025 that Crunchyroll could have acquired a more complete M&E track to mix with their already recorded ADR track. As is the dub is missing 10 of the 14 vocal insert songs played in the Japanese version.

It's such a shame there hasn't been prefect home video release of original series in North America.
Blue Bricks are fine and remastered Hulu looks better, but it would be nice if we get boutique release for original series, along with Z and GT.
We really need classic series (original, Z, and GT), released in good quality with all the music/song intact.
How come one of the most iconic and important anime EVER, hasn't got proper home video release?

Skimming through this, the upscale quality seems to significantly imrpove later on. The frst episode looks like dog shit, but I put on a Red Ribbon episode that looks adequate. Shame it's not the AB Groupe release though

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!
