"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3" Official Discussion Thread.

In development for about six or seven years. Akira Toriyama is heavily involved in many aspects of the game, such as world-building, character designs, settings and etc. Xenoverse 3 occurs two-hundred and sixteen years after the original manga left off and it aims to be a massive and long-lasting online game for players to experience for a long time.

The animation reminds me of Xenoverse 2's CGI Cutscenes, I do think this could be Xenoverse 3

I don't know enough about this game to be excited yet.

Hopefully it isn't just more "travel back in time and play through the same story arcs with the OC donut steel" shenanigans. If this is Xenoverse, count me out.

Yeah, hopefully it is a "spirtual successor" or something related to Dragon Ball Online. Though I would prefer for that game's content to be adapted into a proper series, not another game reviving it. If we can't have that, then I'll take this game.

From everything that was said, as well as the fact that they implied this game is set in the future, then it's safe to say it won't unnecessarily retell Dragon Ball Z for the gazillionth time. Thus this game already has my full attention. It already presenting a new character is a plus. I thought Dragon Ball Z Kakarot's Bonyu would be the last one, but thank Dende Toriyama had time to give us one more new character for the games.

Can't wait for what this game will add to the franchise, as all games going forward should be doing!

I was hoping for something along the lines of Burst Limit or Budokai but it’s truly looking like that will NEVER happen. They tried in 2008 with an unfinished game and said fuck it..never again

I’ve said this before, but I think Dimps has long moved on from the Budokai style. It’s simply not what people look for in anime fighters anymore.

Saiyaman colors and “GS” on the chest must indicate that the mantle of Great Saiyaman is some kind of Capsule Corporation title? If it’s this far into the future maybe it’s some kind of defense force continuity to what Gohan was doing with it? Makes sense for the CC affiliation since Bulma designed it. Maybe you play as crime fighters!

As a fan of DBO I'm excited. Hoping it's a MMO like game to relax in and work together on quests.

And this character almost looks like Toriyama's take on Enzan/Chaud from Mega Man Battle Network

Nothing, otherwise it would've gotten announced instead of this. We'll probably get some port for the Switch 2 or a collection of older games.

I am not excited for such characters much, reminds me of Sealas in Heroes. Generic player avatar/villains.

I still have fond memories of playing DBO on Taiwanese server back in the day, loved the backstory on what happened during all those years in Dragon Ball future.
Xenoverse kinda canibalised and took just the core concepts and villain designs but didn’t do much with those.

I would hope that this is a more daring project with it’s own identity then look, it’s Goku versus Freeza on Namek, but Freeza is 3 times stronger and there is also Cooler…
I did enjoy the mission of just escorting small baby Goku from the space pod to Grandpa Gohan as he was to be assasinated way more than most of the XV stories.
I am tired of these Battle Royale versus fights using the original roster and the story being forced dialogues built around them. It’s been done to death and both Dokkan and Legends are doing it. The writing is bad.

Based on the title I imagine they will be reviving more ideas from DBO. He provided quite a few designs and story input on the original game so without any well for new material this makes sense. I wish we knew the genre for this game...hoping it is a traditional JRPG myself.

And very weird to see "Akira Toriyama Presents..." I wonder how far they will go to milk his name. The return of Kurilien soon?
