There's a survival mode coming in a few months, apparently.

I really hope this game continues to get support like Xenoverse 2 has, as there's so much more they could do with it, especially with the Moro arc on the way. New modes, characters, stages, attacks, etc... The sky's the limit with what they can do, so I hope this is only the first of many major updates to come.

I wonder how expensive this DLC will be?
If they add everything missing from Sparking Meteor/BT3, that's a lot of characters and stages.
It looks like they're adding more than just missing characters, they're adding people like SSJ Bardock & Champa.

This game's not a live service game & its multiplayer components are trash because of the amount of people who cheese it. I can't see this game getting more than another year or 2 of content. It doesn't have the online infrastructure of Xenoverse 2 & it doesn't have the good single player experience of Kakarot. It's an arena fighting game first & foremost. It doesn't have much they can do to keep it going, especially as most of the playerbase dropping it after the first month. The Dark Knight wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:14 pm I really hope this game continues to get support like Xenoverse 2 has, as there's so much more they could do with it, especially with the Moro arc on the way. Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Now that the manga material for DBS is getting adapted, I suppose they can probably include all that stuff in a sequel. In the meantime, this game should focus on bringing back as many of the missing characters from BT3 as possible.

Also adding more single player content than the story mode.

Already handled since Mission 100 arrives tomorrow, Survival arrives in a few months, and the new mode featuring a world map with various events arrives in summer (I'm talking about the 2D world map you see on the screen in the trailer, not a world map in 3D on which you can fly around).
So yeah, ultimately this game offers Story, infinite Custom Battles, Mission 100, Survival and [New Summer Mode] (name still unknown) for the solo content.
Guess it's gonna be hard to say "not enough solo content outside of Story mode" now!

Yeah, you're right; I guess at most we can expect the missing characters form BT3 to make a comeback, as well as some of the stages.Scsigs wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:11 pmThis game's not a live service game & its multiplayer components are trash because of the amount of people who cheese it. The sequel to this game is going to fly off the shelves once that material is given the OK to appear in games. I know a sequel won't be released until 2028 at the earliest, but just thinking about all the new content it will include already has me excited. Besides all the new manga content, you've still got missing content from Super 1.0 and Daima, as well as characters from the classic era that didn't make the cut in Zero. We'll very likely get a story mode that covered everything properly, maybe something like BT2 where we start at Raditz and go all the way up to Granola or even Black Freeza. GT and the old movies can be used as alternate paths depending on how your choices turn out in the main game.WittyUsername wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:40 pmNow that the manga material for DBS is getting adapted, I suppose they can probably include all that stuff in a sequel.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread
The last sequel to a Dragon Ball game Bandai Namco did was Xenoverse 2. Every other game they've done is just a 1 & done, base game & DLCs. I'd sooner believe they'll do several rounds of DLCs & expansions like Xenoverse 2 has gotten for a few years before putting out the next game. They outright went radio silent for months since the 3rd wave of DLC came out & now we see what they were cooking with the solo content, especially when they desperately needed solo content because people dropped the game like a rock after a month & the DLCs they've put out weren't enough to bring many of them back because it was just characters & a few things in the patches. That's it. Like, I personally got all the achievements, then haven't played it since. There just wasn't a lot unless you wanted to play the online battles where too many people cheese the shit out of the game mechanics because they're too damn easy to exploit. No thanks. The Dark Knight wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 11:10 pmYeah, you're right; I guess at most we can expect the missing characters form BT3 to make a comeback, as well as some of the stages.Scsigs wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:11 pmThis game's not a live service game & its multiplayer components are trash because of the amount of people who cheese it. Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread
I have to come out… I do still play the game. It gave me that versus experience from old BT games at least, that I jump in after work, pick characters and blast things between each others… unfortunately missing a lot of maps from before or objectively. But XV2 failed me big in that regard, as I don’t enjoy multiplayer much (as a working family man, there is so much skill gap I have to overcome by practice), but the gameplay is bad, ballance out of the window, combo system broken and AI in solo play outside of rigged story mode is probably the worst I’ve encountered in DB games that I played (honorable mention for difficulty settings in Infinite World).
That’s why I have so much ill will towards the game, as I rather enjoy it, but the more it reminds me of what is missing. So I am happy.
I just wonder, when it actually does release and for how much, as frankly, this should be part of the game in the first place.
Looking forward to try the new mode today and hope it will bring in more satisfaction beyond just competing in score attacks across global leaderboard

So, I'll give my predictions for the big DLC (without even knowing how many characters or even the character limit for a DLC)
NEW CHARACTERS
NEW STAGES:
- Kame House (Confirmed).
- King's Castle from DB.
- Beerus' planet (again, with the Beerus arc being remastered, this cannot be missing).
- U6 arc Stage (I feel DBS won't be overlooked if they are remastering it).
- ToP Stage in good condititions.
- Ice Stage (doubtful).
- Space (extremely doubtful)

Enjoying Mission 100 so far. The scoring system is really the thing that makes it stand out, as the fight scenarios themselves are otherwise easily replicable in Custom Battle. I totally get why it was grouped with that mode in the menu.
Trying to get Z rank for everything is a fun way to burn time.

Mission 100 is actually fun! Spent 2 hours in it yesterday.
Sadly, no other incentive to play except for getting Z ranks and ton of cash to rot in your virtual purse, but it was fun to do themed match-ups and have something else than tournaments, with opponents having various “challenging” presets.
Cool, gimme more! Gimme now!

Would be nice to add Kid Goku or other characters into Episodes with stories or do a mix for whole arcs of DB, GT and Daima with all relevant characters in contrast to Z and Super being disjointed inbetween solo characters. Always missed Z Trunks in it and it’s weird how they treat Super and Z Trunks kinda like separate characters while just Goku, Freeza and Gohan have straightforward continuity.Koitsukai wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 12:01 pm So, I'll give my predictions for the big DLC (without even knowing how many characters or even the character limit for a DLC)

I definitely wouldn’t miss that pointless Goku Black, playing the short arc in-game from a fourth angle and it being just playing as villain. Freeza has at least some interesting alternative developments.

I wonder if Mission 100 will be updated too for more missions after the next DLC lands. Some missions could use one of those guys we are getting in a few months.
About M-100, I've noticed something that isn't a problem but bothered me a bit: no stage-related outfits. Vegeta on Namek is wearing his original armor instead of the version without the leg guards, or even the other one without the shoulder pads.
Tenshinhan in the first mission is wearing his DBS attire.
I'm not sure if the fix for this minor issue is customizing each character, but that would be a pain in the ass.

I was bit sad about going with purple Gohan against Bojack, instead of having the orange giKoitsukai wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:07 am I wonder if Mission 100 will be updated too for more missions after the next DLC lands. Some missions could use one of those guys we are getting in a few months.

So far, the mission with Bardock had Solid State Scouter and the rest had the base game BGMs, I wouldn’t be against more custom soundtracks from the series being used or having the option to pick ours like with tournaments.
I am happy for what it is, but having the missions “live” to switch them periodically would be cool, otherwise, I’ll Z the mode the near future before the DLC drop and that’s it

If they do include GT Vegeta, I’m struggling to imagine what his moveset would be. The only real noteworthy move he has in GT is Final Shine, which they already gave to SS4 Vegeta.
As for the dragons, apart from Nuova, I think Eis is the only one who has a realistic shot at being in this
Regarding OG Dragon Ball representation, I’ve heard that there’s potentially some legal shenanigans that would make it difficult to include Arale in this game, but I don’t know how accurate that is.

Why not Oceanus, she has more moveset than Zangya. Rage Shenron with his plasma electricity attacks and giant mode could be added too. Of course they're always stubborn on picking the same few ones, and we're lucky to even get Nuova these days.WittyUsername wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 2:59 pm As for the dragons, apart from Nuova, I think Eis is the only one who has a realistic shot at being in this
