The first game I haven’t bought and didn’t return till PS4 era

This is definitely Xenoverse 3 (or Xenoverse: insert subtitle here).

When they show a bunch of different DBZ characters before honing in on Goku and then the guy goes SS it made me wonder if maybe this is a Xenoverse type game where you can switch races (or simply transformations/moves from them) on the fly like you're Ben 10 or something. Like when you have Goku selected you can go Super Saiyan, when you have Piccolo selected you can turn Orange, etc.

This announcement was the highlight of the event for me as I have always been utterly enamored with DBO's concepts.
...As long as it is actually DBO 2.0 or a reboot or revamp or something actually proper DBO ideas and concepts and world that is.
Let the world finally and change move on. It sure as hell is not gonna happen in any "canon" content at this point so at least let it finally happen in one thing.

It’s interesting.. the aesthetic of the new character seems in line with Toriyama’s modern sleek, slender style of character models but I couldn’t picture this dude being apart of anything relation to the original run AT ALL. At best he’d be a background character for either a filler episode or a movie.

Regardless, I’m curious to see where this goes, I haven’t been the biggest fan of many of the Dragon Ball games we’ve gotten since Raging Blast 2.. hopefully this wins me over.

Do you guys think this game will look as good as the teaser? IMO, it kind of looked like cgi until the guy transformed. It's the hair. The way it moves is a lot more stiff, the lines look kind of low res, and the yellow is a lot darker and shinier.

At first I thought the cutscene was similar to Xenoverse's, but not only is it a lot higher quality, but Goku also looks completely different than how he looks in theirs.

I think the game will look way better than Xenoverse, no oily/plastic models but I don't think that was how the game will look.

It could just be some sort of countdown to Age 1000's reveal and it might not be Xenoverse 3 but it's interesting they're highlighting the AGE.

The way they described the game feels a lot more original-story and world driven than Xenoverse is. Plus they claim Toriyama had a lot of input into it, kinda like DBO, and it'd be weird to do that for 3 when they already had a story set up for 1 that lead into 2. A story that's also heavily outdated. If it is Xenoverse 3, then it's probably going to be a remake.

On a side note, back before Future Saga 3 officially released and when I foolishly thought that Conton city being destroyed was going to stick, I assumed the game reveal at Battle Hour was going to be a vague teaser with a vague project name pretty much like how it actually went, and then a official reveal at Battle Hour

As far as the visuals go, I am very worried that it's going to be ugly (especially if it really is Xenoverse 3), but I'd like to think Toriyama's involvement pushed the staff in the right direction. Plus nowadays the CGI cutscenes usually aren't that far off from the actual models. S0's was pretty much 1:1.

I don't think it's XV3. I know it would be a hype reveal and all, but if it was they would just say it from get go. Sparking Zero was immediately announced as a new Tenkaichi and that had a longer time frame than XV2->XV3 would.

Yea I’m leaning more to this being a new developer. If it’s not Dimps and is an original story I’m interested. I really didn’t want another Xenoverse game, that story just doesn’t interest me.
