Yeah that comic sums it up real well in my opinion. I think Goku does love Chi Chi. He said he liked her feistiness and so do I. I doubt he'd ever divorce her. He does love her and he once said that she understands him better than anyone. And I think he appreciates that. I also think he is a pretty good father and husband considering his lack of experience in both regards.
"We became like friends, we became like good friends." Broly to Cheelai and Lemo about his fur pelt.

Doubt it. Goku loves her enough even if he neglects his duties as a father or a husband and the reason he fails is that he is too under-educated at anything other than fighting.

It was only really the Z anime that made such a big deal over Chi-Chi being such an overbearing "banshee" for supposedly humorous purposes (I personally never found that entertaining), but unfortunately that seems to the main reference a lot of vehement Chi-Chi haters use to bash her character.
It's designed to appeal to the humor of Japanese boys and men, not us Westerners.

There is nothing inherently sexist about Japanese boys and men. Those things are all taught and re-enforced and it normal and correct to be critical of publishers for releasing and marketing media that portrays women and girls are something to not be respected as equals and fellow human beings.
We do not need to normalize "women are annoying," especially in a comic and cartoon franchise aimed at
children.

You make it sound like the east and west are somehow a totally different plane of existence when it comes to these things.

For the Japanese, watching an old man trying to see the underwear and touch the breasts of a 16-year-old girl is funny, even if that is considered criminal within a realistic context.

People putting up with regressive views of gender in media does not equate to said media being acceptable or having no dissenting views of it. This is just a ridiculous missing of the forest for the trees.

There's people here in the states that would find that funny. Plenty of dirty and gross humor stuff exist in the west too.

Goku said innumerous times that he cares about Chi-Chi and his family. He literally said that to Vegeta in Super.
Just sit here and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, don't do it right away. Don't do it when you can. Read my posts instead. It's the only way to live a life without regrets.

I did not watch super but I watched Z.
In Mexico abuelas used to say that you catch a man by the stomach. Meaning a woman needs learn how to cook. Please consider the context, once more this is latin american culture from early 1900s. Taking the previous example Chichi was a genius. It is know Chichi isnangeat cook. Even Videl mentions she is better than her chef. She raised Gohan almost on her own. She was in charge of his education as he was homeschooled until highschool. She kept the house and was always willing to be with Goku. What else could a man possibly ask from a wife? She was strong willed. So it was needed for being with the strongest guy on Earth ( same Bulma and Vegeta). Chichi is perfect for Goku.
Chichi was such a great wife Goku would be so wrong to divorce her.
