The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
The only interesting thing the manga's version of Battle of Gods gave us was some Champa arc foreshadowing that also led into F. Would be cool to see that included, but I'm not counting on it.

Totally Not Mark said that those early Champa scene are likely to make the cut. When these stories were being produced the first time around, no one knew where things were going, but that's not the case anymore. What I would like to see this remake do is better connect all these stories together; make them feel like one on-going narrative, rather than standalone stories that just happen to be part of the same series. Champa running into Beerus after fighting Goku on Kai's planet sets up the U6 arc, showing Freeza's soldiers getting wiped out early on sets up Resurrection F, showing Future Trunks escaping Black before RF begins like that extended TV version of the movie sets up the Zamasu arc, as would a scene of him watching Goku and Hit's fight during the U6 tournament.

I wonder if Toei Animation is going to let Latin America change their title to Dragon Ball Super: Bills for consistency reasons.

They have to. It’s his official name around here and it’s used for everything. Maybe it wasn’t used in FighterZ, but that game has a wonky Portuguese translation that often translates names directly from English instead of using the official Portuguese counterparts, like “Ultra Instinto” instead of the official “Instinto Superior.”TheRed259 wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 3:25 pmI wonder if Toei Animation is going to let Latin America change their title to Dragon Ball Super: Bills for consistency reasons.

It would however be the perfect opportunity to erase that awful mistake and correct his name definitely. I wouldn't mind that lol

I wonder when the remake reaches Goku Black, will Goku be the one who uses the Mafuba on Zamasu this time like in the manga? I always hated how Goku trained overnight to use it in the anime, only for Trunks to learn it from watching a video. So stupid. I hope the remake corrects that in addition to Goku also using the Hakai.

I don't really mind Bills in Portuguese. I don't know if it's because I'm so used to it, but Beerus just doesn't sound rightCaulifor wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 5:19 pmIt would however be the perfect opportunity to erase that awful mistake and correct his name definitely. I wouldn't mind that lol
But if they went with it, I wouldn’t mind.

This third version of Battle of Gods is only worthwhile for me if they make Daima Canon i dont understand why so many people dislike Daima it was Akira last project and should be Canon i would like to see Goku and Vegeta transform into Super Saiyan 4 and 3 or at least to have some reference to Daima to improve the continuity i dont know if there will be a Remake of all of Super but i would like to see it

I wonder if Toei will insist that all dubs switch to Beerus, given that consistent romanisation seems to be a priority for them these days. E.g. there was the gradual switch to 'dubbed' names in the English Dragon Ball subtitles, and recently they commissioned a second German dub of One Piece which ignores the German names that were already established and continue to be used everywhere else (i.e. the new dub of the first season uses "Luffy" and "Usopp", while new seasons, plus the manga live action series, have always used "Ruffy" and "Lysop").TheRed259 wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 3:25 pm I wonder if Toei Animation is going to let Latin America change their title to Dragon Ball Super: Bills for consistency reasons.
This recut would be a good time for them to change "Bills" to "Beerus" if they were so inclined.

Yeah, even just for branding purposes I don't see there being a title change for any of the dubs like the way international versions of Battle of Gods used that name rather than Kami to Kami.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

Nah, we're used to have the original logo with the announcer saying the Latin American name of the production aloud. So expect to hear Jorge Lapuente (the current narrator) to say "Dragon Ball Super Bills" with the big Beerus subtitle on the screen.TheRed259 wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 3:25 pm I wonder if Toei Animation is going to let Latin America change their title to Dragon Ball Super: Bills for consistency reasons.
Of course, there are times where logos are in Spanish but that's mostly for Disney dubbings.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years

As a fan of how to rework things, how to refresh, correct and update works, I'm very impatient to see this series!
I love "updates that go big", the "refine everything we already have to visibly take it to the next level" approach, the "let's make it version 2.0" concept!
For example, if they use the Funimation dub as the international default, they might call the next arc "Dragon Ball Super: Frieza" or "Dragon Ball Super: Golden Frieza". But in France, ALL translations by all translators (anime and manga alike) have always chosen "Freezer" as the better version for a French audience.
So Latin America will have to think about what to do with Bills/Beerus, France might have to think about what to do with Freezer/Frieza.
Shueisha might be a bit permissive with titles when it is justified, such as France being able to change Dragon Ball Minus to Dragon Ball Bonus / Dragon Ball Bonus Story (since "minus" would mean "Dragon Ball weakling" in French).
But I'm not sure with Toei. They did allow a French title for Resurrection 'F' though (which is just French for "The Resurrection of F", no big change ultimately). Maybe they would allow countries to change the title so that the name of the character fits the local dub, who knows?

It's a question one could wonder for many countries with upcoming arcs.TheRed259 wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 3:25 pm I wonder if Toei Animation is going to let Latin America change their title to Dragon Ball Super: Bills for consistency reasons.

This once again confirms that this remake/remaster is essentially Dragon Ball Super Kai and I'm completely here for it. Especially knowing that's how Toei referred to it internally. I think Super will shine cutting out all the filler-ish stuff. Imagine the U6 tournament ends and the very next episode is Future Trunks. That's gonna be perfect (even if the episode counts will be specific to arcs now most likely).JulieYBM wrote: Thu Jan 29, 2026 2:49 pmWhy would it is the idea is to cut down the length of each arc? Toriyama did not have a hand in those episodes.Koitsukai wrote: Thu Jan 29, 2026 1:40 pm Sorry, this just hit me but this means that awful Copy Vegeta arc is definitely not going to happen, right?
I mean, sure, it sucks to lose the fun episodes like Pan getting lost and the baseball episode, but just like with OG Z before Kai came along, OG Super will always have those episodes available to watch.
Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
Yeah that's how I'm choosing to look at it. The baseball episode is probably my favorite episode of Super. That or the Dr. Slump crossover. And we would presumably be losing both of these in this revamp. But I think most people would agree that Kai is the definitive version of Z and that's missing the Goku and Piccolo get drivers licenses episode which is one of my alltime favorites.mecha3000 wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 2:04 am This once again confirms that this remake/remaster is essentially Dragon Ball Super Kai and I'm completely here for it. A version of Super that has better animation and gets straight to the meat and potatoes could be awesome. The TOP specifically will be fascinating to see, because there's quite a bit of fat in that arc. I remember being annoyed that it took like 3 months of IRL time to get the tournament started because they had to do like 8 episodes of Goku going to each fighter and saying "Will you fight with me?" I bet the final result could be surprisingly short depending on how ruthless they are with the cuts.

Talking about the French version I wonder if they will re use Legrand's Vegeta where possible or just use a new actor (please, don't let it be Antoine Nouel).Cold Skin wrote: Sat Jan 31, 2026 7:55 pm As a fan of how to rework things, how to refresh, correct and update works, I'm very impatient to see this series!

I have been reading so many conflicting things about this beerus. Some say its only battle of gods, some say its the whole super anime... and nothing is the same, so many conflicting articles....
Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
Officially confirmed is just Beerus saga, but there's no reason to assume the other ones won't be adapted too. It would be extremely weird if it was just Beerus and then we go straight to Moro saga that's only going to be released next year. Of course they will adapt the other sagas in the meantime.

If they only do Beerus then I'm calling this a money laundering scheme from the studio. Of all the sagas they're doing the one with the most adaptations? Even RoF would be a better choice for a one off.

Would be super weird not to do all of it while they are at it.
