Would you prefer Yamcha to be stronger than Krillin?
I personally think that Tien is the strongest amongst the three.

Re: Would you prefer Yamcha to be stronger than Krillin?
Yamcha has been around since the beginning, I would prefer if he had a bigger role overall. Having Yamcha as a secondary or tertiary rival to Goku would have been nice. I am of the belief that if Goku never landed on Earth that Yamcha would have taken his place as Earth's strongest warrior and hero. That's a whole other can of worms that I won't get into in this thread though...

Re: Would you prefer Yamcha to be stronger than Krillin?
Nah. It honestly makes more sense that Krillin is stronger than Yamcha due to training alongside Goku for awhile, living with their master for several years of his life, and being married to a SSJ-tier woman. He also got his potential unlocked by Saichoro which seemed to work wonders for Gohan as well.
Perhaps if Puar could actually copy even 1/1,000,000,000,000 of Beerus' power when he shapeshifts into a Hakaishin, Yamcha might have a decent sparring partner to get stronger.

It might have been good for the 22nd Budokai arc as Yamcha was putting over the new villain, but other than that, I don't see it impacting the story much.

No. I like Krillin being the strongest human.

I just love it how Toei made Yamcha and Tien look good in filler. Mostly Yamcha.

Other than stopping Krillin from hogging the stage/camera out of all the humans? Oh, I don't know..
Re: Would you prefer Yamcha to be stronger than Krillin?
I mean he doesn’t and he certainly doesn’t hog it because he’s the strongest but go off, I guessBenjamin-Simons-91 wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 10:49 pmOther than stopping Krillin from hogging the stage/camera out of all the humans? Oh, I don't know..

Just to put it in perspective so you'd see - the usage of the human Z-Fighters throughout Dragon Ball Super:MasenkoHA wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 12:03 amI mean he doesn’t and he certainly doesn’t hog it because he’s the strongest but go off, I guessBenjamin-Simons-91 wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 10:49 pmOther than stopping Krillin from hogging the stage/camera out of all the humans? Krillin:
1. Battle of Gods - about to fight Beerus per Yamcha's request, despite its obvious outcome.
2. Resurrection 'F' - fights after telling his much more powerful wife to stay back.
3. Champa Arc - takes part in the recruitment of Team Universe 7.
4. Zamasu Arc - Is the only human Z-Fighter around.
5. Tournament of Power - Fights.
6. Moro Arc - Fights more than the rest of his human peers.
7. Super Hero - Plays active role in the prequal parts, and fights in the final clash with Cell Max.
Tien:
1. BoG - fights Beerus with no fear.
2. RoF - fights.
3. Champa Arc - Just watches.
4. Tournament of Power - fights after getting a horrible recruitment episode.
5. Moro Arc - fights, yet proves that he can't mock people anymore and fails in this and his next fight.
Yamcha:
1. BoG - Bystander, eventually a frightened one.
2. RoF - Wasn't shown and was described as "weak".
3. U6 - Just watches.
4. ToP - The living joke of uselessness.
5. Moro Arc - Fights well at first, then gets defeated along with Tien and Chiaotzu.
Chiaotzu:
1. BoG - bystander.
2. RoF - same as Yamcha.
3. U6 - bystander.
4. ToP - Fights against Yurin and her possessed minions, then bystander again.
5. Moro Arc - Fights, but his only vital showing was the mockery of the Metalman.
Master Roshi:
1. BoG - bystander.
2. RoF - Superstar all of the sudden.
3. U6 - bystander.
4. Zamasu Arc - Teaches Goku the Mafuba.
5. ToP - Superstar again, at least in the manga version.
6. Moro Arc - Fights, but seems to hit his limit.

In perfect world Kuririn, Yamcha and Tenshinhan would be equals.
But the only one who trains is Tenshinhan, so he should be the strongest.

Re: Would you prefer Yamcha to be stronger than Krillin?
No. I enjoy Krilin being the strongest
What I would prefer however would be treating Yamcha like a character and not just joke or comic relief.
I mean the amount of times he is treated as a gag or as a stupid cocky character rivals the way Goku is portrayed as stupid in modern DB.
In og Yamcha wasn't the main hero off course but was always a wise martial artist, the go to guy about other masters, a loyal friend and boyfriend.
So I would like to see that Yamcha, maybe not strength wise but character wise.
Unfortunately his character decline started as early as Cell saga...

I would like Yamcha and Krillin to be rivals competing against each other to see who is stronger and eventually both trying to compete with Tien Shinhan

Re: Would you prefer Yamcha to be stronger than Krillin?
I never liked Kuririn as much as Yamcha or Tenshinhan in the manga. In fact, it always felt wrong to me when Kuririn suddenly started to surpass Tenshinhan around the Namek arc. As early as the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai, Tenshinhan was established as a true martial arts genius, someone far more knowledgeable than even Goku when it came to techniques. He was able to copy the Kamehameha just by seeing it once, which really sold how skilled and perceptive he was. For most arcs after that, Tenshinhan consistently stayed ahead of the other Z Fighters, with only Goku and Piccolo clearly above him. Then Namek comes along, and I am supposed to believe Kuririn surpassed him mainly because his potential was unlocked through a ritual. Even after that, Tenshinhan continued to show better feats, like holding back second form Cell, who was vastly stronger than Piccolo after fusing with Kami and even stronger than Android 16, or being one of the few humans skilled enough to avoid Buu’s genocidal attack.
As for Yamcha, even though he was never portrayed as the strongest, he was simply cooler. He was one of the best characters in the first arc, had his own distinct fighting style, and managed to learn the Kamehameha before Kuririn despite starting his training with Roshi later.
I don't hate Kuririn, by the way. He is funny. But I prefer the other two.

While I don't disagree with you about Tenshinhan's affinity towards the martial arts, it's not implausible to believe that he had at least some knowledge of the Kamehameha beforehand. Goku, on the other hand, really did learn it just by seeing it once, when he didn't even know that ki blasts were a thing.BernardoCairo wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 7:18 pmTenshinhan was established as a true martial arts genius, someone far more knowledgeable than even Goku when it came to techniques. No. I love Krillin more.
Plus... in my humble opinion...
Krillin became stronger by training harder than Yamcha.
Yamcha had Bulma and Capsule Corp technology to train, but instead of asking her from drones and augmented gravity he: https://youtu.be/c0Ky78wc2_k?si=aP0KiF80W_DBHihm
I think Yamcha was somehow depressed and that is why he could no longer train seriously. He dedicated himself to be a baseball player, getting sports cars and living the lifestyle of a city. Whilst Krillin stayed with Roshi at Kame House and he would swim the ocean to get groceries and then he married 18 and they would train together. It makes sense Krillin is stronger. Krillin is such a cool guy.

Re: Would you prefer Yamcha to be stronger than Krillin?
I understand your point, but the characters made it such a big deal that I'm almost certain it was meant to be an impressive feat. Like, the Kamehameha was nothing to him. He had the Kikoho (a much more powerful attack), the Dodonpa, he could fly, he could use ki blasts, etc. Nobody else in the series had that kind of power.nineko wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 8:41 pmWhile I don't disagree with you about Tenshinhan's affinity towards the martial arts, it's not implausible to believe that he had at least some knowledge of the Kamehameha beforehand.
