How many times have you seen the anime?
How many times have you seen the anime?
Was kind of curious how many times people here have seen the anime.
I'll start with myself:
Dragon Ball - 2 (once in English, once in Japanese)
Dragon Ball Z - 2 (once in English, once in Japanese)
Dragon Ball GT - 3 (once in English, twice in Japanese)
Dragon Ball Kai - 0 (only seen a few episodes, wasn't anything new so wasn't interested)
Dragon Ball Super - 0 (currently watching in Japanese for first time)
Dragon Ball Daima - 0 (will watch after I finish Super)
What about you?

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
Dragonball - I think twice, but I'm not certain I've finished it the second time. Only in japanese both times.
DBZ - too many to count. Many times in spanish, at least 5 times in japanese.
DBGT - again, I've lost count. Easily 5 times in spanish and the same amount in japanese.
DB Kai - Once and only up to the Cell arc, in japanese. Never watched the Buu arc and never will.
DBS - Twice, both in japanese.
Daima - Once, paying attention. In japanese. I've watched every episode of Daima in spanish but not in order, just catching a few episodes here and there, eventually catching every episode because it isn't that long of a series.

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
I don't remember? I've surely seen Super and Daima twice each thanks to watching the live broadcast and then the subbed release later that day, but for Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT? Twice? Three times for Dragon Ball Z, if we're counting the English dub? I haven't watched any of the first three series in over a decade, though, outside of occasionally spot-checking episodes. For Dragon Ball Kai, I think maybe only twice? Less than Twice? I still haven't watched the Majin Buu arc lol.

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
The classic trilogy (DB, Z, & GT): Too many times.
The 13 Z movies: also too many times.
The 4 Dragon Ball movies: Never, but I will.
Dragon Ball Kai: I think a couple of times.
Battle of Gods: Also too many times.
Resurrection F: Once; and never again.
Dragon Ball Super: I couldn't get through it once.
Dragon Ball Heroes: Never, and I never will.
Broly and Superhero: Once each.
Dragon Ball Daima: twice so far, and I expect that number to grow.

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
Dragon Ball 86 probably too many times in both English and Japanese. Z once each in Japanese and English w Kikuchi score and of course I followed the Toonami run casually during the Ocean days and early Funimation Studios day. Obsessively around the time Goku and Frieza fought until just when Kid Buu showed up.
GT once in Japanese and Super once in English. Only got about 6 episodes into Daima before losing interest.
I watched tv rips of the Nicktoons broadcast of Kai until the Kikuchi score takeover around the time 17 and 18 showed up. Then I watched the uncut version of the dub all the way through once. Never got around to watching Final Chapters beyond spot checking some clips

Dragon Ball - 2 times (1 in Portuguese and 1 in Japanese)
Dragon Ball Z - 1 time (Japanese)
Dragon Ball GT - 1 time (Japanese)
Dragon Ball Kai - 2 times (1 in Portuguese and 1 in Japanese)
Dragon Ball Super - 3 times (1 in Portuguese and 2 in Japanese)
Dragon Ball Daima - 1 time (Japanese)
I think I've read the manga about 5 times, though.
And I'm counting Kai as just one thing. I'm almost certain I've watched "The Final Chapters" alone more than twice.

Just sit here and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, don't do it right away. Don't do it when you can. Read my posts instead. It's the only way to live a life without regrets.
Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
As someone who loves international dubs, I am pretty sure I might have watched most of the franchise's anime series multiple times.
So, I'll just list the times I watched it with my native dub (Latin American Spanish dub) and the original Japanese version.
From the most watched to the least watched:
1) Dragon Ball Kai: Nine. Yup, I am one of those people who watched Cartoon Network's constant reruns of Kai. I watched it one time in Japanese (at the time it was still airing in Japan) and eight times with the Latin American Spanish dub. This perhaps explain why my initial hatred for the Kai recasts (ok, most of them) faded away.
2) Dragon Ball Z: Seven. All of them with Latin American Spanish dub. Watched it on Cartoon Network, Telefe, a bootleg DVD, Warner Channel and currently, Adult Swim Latin American channel.
3) Dragon Ball Super: Four star. Watched it twice in original Japanese with Spanish subtitles and twice in Latin American Spanish dub on Cartoon Network.
4) Dragon Ball GT : Thrice. All three of them with the Latin American Spanish dub. Two of them through Cartoon Network airings and once through a bootleg DVD.
5) OG Dragon Ball: Twice. Both with the Latin American Spanish dub on Cartoon Network. You can expect this from someone who was introduced to this franchise through Z.
6) Dragon Ball Daima: The only and one time in Japanese with Spanish subtitles. In my opinion, Daima is not something that deserves a rewatch.

A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years
Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
Original: Three times, two in Japanese, one in English.
DBZ: Two times, one in Japanese, one in English. Both times me and my friends had to drop several times at Freeza, Cell and Boo before resuming because pacing and story were getting bad.
GT: Three times, two in Japanese, one in English.
Super: One and a half times, one full in Japanese, half in English. Me and my friends dropped it in English after Goku Black.
Daima: Once in Japanese. 4 episodes in and me and my friends dropped it. I returned after it was finished to see if it got any better... Needless to say, I don't plan to rewatch it anytime soon.

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
In terms of full watches? Hard to say, db probably about 5 times, Z maybe 15, gt about... 6 or 7? Just a guess. I tend to rewatch random arcs and episodes all the time when I'm in a Dragonball mood though.

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
Original Dragon Ball : 2-3 times in Japanese, 2-3 times with the Blue Water dub and once with Funimation's dub, so I guess 5-7? The earlier episodes I've seen more times with other dubs like BLT and Harmony Gold.
Dragon Ball Z : 2-3 times in Japanese, watched the Westwood dub 3 times, Funimation's inhouse dub at least 2, the Saban dub maybe 4 or 5. In total, for the whole series? I suppose 7-9, if not more as I lost count of how many times I watched random arcs that over time make up the whole series.
Dragon Ball GT : 2-3 times in Japanese, 2-3 times with Blue Water and 2 more with Funimation's dub, adding up to about 6-8, although I've seen the last two arcs a few times at random.
Dragon Ball Kai : 2-3 times in Japanese, 4-5 times with Funimation's dub. This includes multiple variations (Yamamoto, Kikuchi, Nicktoons, etc). Again I've watched random arcs in full, but for the entire series I watched at least 6-8 times.
Dragon Ball Kai The Final Chapters : Twice, once in Japanese and once in English.
Dragon Ball Super : 3 in full. Probably 1 and a half in Japanese and then another 1 and a half with Funimation's dub, but I've seen the early episodes a good few times, including once in full with the Bang Zoom dub.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes : Not sure if I've seen this in full. I watched a load of episodes at one time, but I think I fell behind as I keep forgetting this exists and where I left off.
Dragon Ball Daima : Twice, once in Japanese and once in English.
I couldn't count how many times I've seen the movies or specials as I watch them in an even more random fashion than the series. I may watch one or two at any one time, a bunch, or on rare ocassions go through them all. I've seen the Japanese versions, Funimation dub and Big Green dubs once each though, and I've seen the Pioneer trilogy a couple of times.

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
I have no idea... attacking 40s in few years, my mind starts to get blurry going back to kidhood.
My first TV experience with the anime was in German, by sheer luck, as they started to air Pokémon in Czechia around 1999.
We already knew the franchise through the game on Game Boy and we've discovered with my friend, that in Germany, they air the new episodes sooner and quite quickly, we switched to Digimon. Dragon Ball aired before together with Sailor Moon, Ranma and Detective Conan.
That opened a bigger world of anime to me, as anime was not a mainstream thing here until late 2010s, with arrival of Naruto, Bleach etc.
Dunno how many times, but chronologically:
Dragon Ball - twice in German, once in French with Polish overdub, once in English (Blue Box) - at least twice in Japanese.
Dragon Ball Z - once in German, once in French with Polish overdub, once in English (Orange Box) - at least 3 times in Japanese.
Dragon Ball GT - once in German, twice in French with Polish overdub and in Japanese.
Super and Daima both twice in Japanese.
I have seen the show on TV first, later with my ex, we rewatched all DB and Z as the US releases came out in english with japanese BGM, but because of games since SNES and somehow developing a purist attitude during my teens and learning about all the errors of the dubs, I have switched to Japanese completely. Not to mention, all the other anime series were in Japanese anyway.
I have never seen originals of Pokémon or Digimon tho.
I will always have a soft spot for German version of Chala Head Chala!

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
I watched through all of DB and DBZ on TV in English once. For simplicity's sake, I'm folding the five laps of Raditz-to-Ginyu that I had to sit through into the "one" time I watched Z on TV.Kid Buu wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 3:39 pm Was kind of curious how many times people here have seen the anime.
Near the end of highschool I watched through all of DB, DBZ, GT, and the movies, in English, online.
I watched bits and pieces of Kai, but never the full thing, so I won't count it.
I watched all of DB, DBZ, and GT in Japanese via the Bricks and Funimation Dragon Boxes at least once in full, while showing my wife the series. I know I watched a lot of DB and Z this way prior to showing it to her, but I don't remember for the life of me if I ever did a full watch through of both in order. I'll add a "+" to indicate that there may have been an additional full watch through.
I watched Super all the way through at least once, but many I probably watched twice, once for the raw live, and later for the subs. Some episodes I've rewatched here and there. I'll add a "+" to indicate that I probably watched a bunch of it twice.
I watched Daima all the way through at least once, but same as Super, some eps were raw, which I later re-watched a second time with subs. Also a lot of the eps I watched by myself, so I watched again with my wife. I'll add a "+" to account for this, just like with Super.
So, I guess my score would be something like this:
Dragon Ball - 3+
Dragon Ball Z - 3+
Dragon Ball GT - 2
Dragon Ball Kai - 0
Dragon Ball Super - 1+
Dragon Ball Daima - 1+

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
Too many to count, and it's not all even. I watched what I had access to. I don't know how many times I watched the Ocean dub episodes, and I likely watched those 2 Captain Ginyu tapes over and over as I was just happy to have Dragon Ball Z back.

Re: How many times have you seen the anime?
I've seen Z too many times to count, largely because of the constant re-runs on UK TV from 2000-2005. I've also watched it on DVD and Blu-ray a bunch of times.
For both OG DB and GT I'd have to guess 6-8 times each?
I've also seen Kai quite a bit thanks to the Kix broadcast from 2012-2015. They ran the Saiyan and Frieza arcs a ton, but showed the Android/Cell arc considerably less. I've watched The Final Chapters twice on Blu-ray.
I've only watched Super in its entirety once. I did start a rewatch twice, but abandoned it after struggling through the retellings. I will watch it all again at some point.
Daima I've seen once in Japanese, and will hopefully be able to watch the dub at some point.
