LEGO Shenron set releases in November

Post by MCDaveG » Fri Feb 13, 2026 4:43 am

So far, it's a lowkey rumor, coming from BrickTap,
but Dragon Ball LEGO display set is reportedly coming in November as part of the 40th anniversary.
The reports are supposed to be coming from the same source, that leaked the One Piece sets.

I really wonder what it could be. LEGO has a long way of doing anniversary sets, I bought myself that Batman Forever batmobile that came out for the movie anniversary.
The company doesn't have a great track recently, with monopoly pricing combined with higher prices for licenses and their lesser quality (Batman Forever had just one Batman figure, no Robin etc. not to mention the cheaper minifig designs in that 999$ Death Star).
The Pokémon sets are awesome, but honestly, beyond my price range.

I invest heavily into Batman IP with Lego, even building my own Gotham City display MOC, ignoring Star Wars except for few 18+ sets,
but I'll go for Dragon Ball for sure if it won't cost a leg and a liver.
Any LEGO fans here? :)

UPDATE:
The Dragon Ball set is said to be a Shenron build with minifigures and releases in November.

Dragon Ball is one of the most popular franchises in the world, so it getting a Lego set isn't an "if", but a "when". If it doesn't happen this year, it could next year or the year after that.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a Dragon Ball lego set yet, that said I haven't kept up with lego since I was a kid. I always thought something Dragon Ball-related would be neat though.

There is lot of custom/knock-off minifig scale characters, that do not look half bad, but it just isn't it.
But since Mario and how is Lego going around these sets, I expect it to be either Brickheadz (those fit the display set kind of),
or and I think that would be the probable outcome, 18+ set that will be either scaled-up Goku on Kintoun, or Dragon Balls with Shenron (check the Mario and Pokémon sets).
The least probably IMHO would be for example minifig scale diorama, like the Budokai stage.

I remember when I lurk around the Lego forum in 2014 because of the movie, and you had people that felt like DBZ was too violent for the line  . Considering Lego has done characters from Marvel and DC who are way more violent than anything seen in Dragon Ball.

I really hope that's true. I don't have many Lego sets, but I bought one or two from Mario. It's a lot of fun to put together (like a 3D puzzle) and it's a nice decorative piece.
They have to start with a Shenlong set!

I remember how my friend’s schoolmate got banned from watching DBZ because his mother saw Trunks slicing Freeza in half…

Only policy Lego has on violence is that it forbids real life military themes and even took down their released set of Ospray, because it is first and foremost military plane even tho it was branded in it’s rescue version.
Sci-fi and movies do not count… the darkest theme probably being The Batman, with Uzi machine guns, not to mention Riddler himself. Marvel, Stranger Things, Avatar. Star Wars is the most militaristic theme… Dragon Ball shouldn’t be a problem. We already have One Piece sets :)

Interestingly Freeza splitting and all shots of him in the next episode were cut on the Finnish SubTV airings, but the manga still managed to get temporarily suspended there, for different reasons.

Just goes to show some people will always find problems with Dragon Ball.

Some people will find problems with anything... interesting thing about Finland tho. In central Europe, it was mostly about individual parents, but that kind of western censorship wasn't standard here till 2010s. Nobody cared much about what the TV airs, only erotic content was strictly forbidden until 22:00 hour.

Anyways, Shenron and minifigs are coming!
