We know of two changes from Toriyama's initial concept to the Future Trunks arc that happened in both the manga and the anime: Vegetto appearing, and Merged Zamasu being a near-unstoppable force of nature. According to that interview in volume 4, Toriyama's idea for Merged Zamasu was that he'd still be at a level where Goku and Vegeta could 1v1 him, and the focus was more on just wearing him down until the fusion expired and they could finish the fight decisively. Yet, what we got in both the manga and anime was a Goku Black who eventually reached a level roughly on par with Super Saiyan Blue, and a Merged Zamasu whose power was absolutely overwhelming. I think, since this happened in both versions, we can indeed assume that Toriyama, Toyotaro and the anime writing staff did talk during the planning stage and agreed ahead of time that, yes, a super powerful Merged Zamasu whom Goku and Vegeta fuse to fight is indeed a thing that should be in the story.
...Though I do have to wonder if Toriyama's initial notes even had any specifics on how we get to the timeline wipe, if his version of Merged Zamasu was not stronger than Goku and Vegeta combined... The "We're at the end of our rope and the only way out of this is to summon the Omni-King!" thing doesn't really seem quite as justifiable if the guy they're dealing with is only somewhat stronger than our heroes... And both the manga and anime took wildly different paths to get to that ending so I almost have to wonder if Toriyama's notes were just "Trunks seemingly defeats Zamasu, but then he gets back up and becomes far too powerful for them to handle!" or something.

I doubt that they will do it, but I hope that they do not include Vegetto in the enhanced version. He's not interesting as a culmination of Gokuu and Vegeta's arcs and I would much rather see Gokuu and Vegeta work together to defeat Merged Zamasu, ala Naruto and Sasuke battling Momoshiki together. It's a more interesting visual.
They'll just do more Vegetto Blue, though. That's what the fans expect lol

I'm not gonna lie, I don't care what they do with Magetta. The text to speech voice in the Super dub was stupid, but the character's such a nothing character that's only there to get shit on & have his feelings hurt for stupid comedy where you laugh at his pain, then be an obstacle for an episode before becoming irrelevant.mecha3000 wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 5:33 am Also, I just realized as far as the dub goes, they need to get rid of Magetta being voiced by a "text to speech". It worked back in 2017, but now, it reeks of AI slop. This time around, Magetta needs an actual dub voice actor.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

According to Ajay, apparently Yuya Takahashi will strictly follow Yamamuro's character sheet for the remake. I have to say it's a little bit odd for him to retract his steps after he went against Yamamuro in Tournament of Power arc. How sad it is for someone of his stature to lower his standard for Yamamuro.

I kind of doubt that it's a big deal to Takahashi. He can work on whatever projects he wants to, he's freelance.

Well, what the redraws in this are is touching up what's there, which means using Yamamuro's character designs. Especially since they have the time to really make them shine. Like, when it was in the last 2 Z movies, it looks good. The only things that I'd change are taking away the unnecessary white highlights & maybe revamp the shadow shading to look better. Probably a few more minor things too.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote: Fri Feb 13, 2026 5:23 pm According to Ajay, apparently Yuya Takahashi will strictly follow Yamamuro's character sheet for the remake. Which, just to say this, I don't entirely hate Yamamuro's character designs. The problems, however, are that they require a specific amount of time to animate to look good because of the overly specific ways the characters are drawn. Now, I would rather them switch to the Shintani designs from Broly since I think they just look better & lend themselves better to animation, but that goes beyond the scope of this project, sadly.

Even modern Yammamuro at his best looks significantly worse than anything Takahashi has put out with his own style, it's not even close.Scsigs wrote: Fri Feb 13, 2026 8:27 pm Well, what the redraws in this are is touching up what's there, which means using Yamamuro's character designs. I get they probably want to have a coherent look throughout, but erasing individual styles in the instances where they actually looked amazing like in the case of Takahashi is just foolish imo.
I would just touch up the scenes that actually looked like shit, not the ones that are already top tier.
Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
A general issue with modern anime is that there's this desire from a lot of producers to push for a consistent look within series. Merchandisers want the kids cartoons—like Dragon Ball and PreCure—to look like the merchandise as much as possible. Inconsistency isn't a bad idea: letting skilled animators do their own thing gets us the coolest-looking episodes in anime, something we've been time-and-time again in series like NARUTO or even the old, old Tate Naoki-supervised episodes of One Piece back in the 2000s. With Dragon Ball Super, the consistency factor hits us hardest because Yamamuro Tadayoshi's character designs and animation supervision suck. The funniest thing about BLEACH is that on the original series, Character Designer Kudou Masashi rarely worked on the series personally, but when he did he wasn't very religious about drawing very close to his models.
Meanwhile, they just let Takahashi Yuuya go wild for the Tournament of Power arc lol and Dragon Ball Super: Broly lol

I was just watching a video of the new Dokkan units(?) and I really really hope the remaster can do something like this for the bigger fights.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3deHaarwEGk
And this was exactly what I've been talking about. For both of them. SSBE Vegeta could be amazing but Toei dropped the ball so laughably hard with him, and most of the other games just adapt the anime 1:1 so he's underwhelming there too. And on the other hand, UI/MUI Goku had a relatively better showing, but he's bogged down because 1. they've been milking his fights with Kefla and Jiren since the anime ended and he desperately needs something new, and B. while his fights were great by DBS anime standards, his fights simply age badly when you compare it to everything that came after it (and the same goes for Vegito).
But yeah, I hope they really are committed to adding new content.

Nakamura and the others did the best that they could do for Blue Evolution, given the lack of preparation time and available staff. If the enhanced version can spare talent for making the fights for that form cooler, then I would be very happy.IntangibleFancy wrote: Sat Feb 14, 2026 3:31 pm I was just watching a video of the new Dokkan units(?) and I really really hope the remaster can do something like this for the bigger fights.
