Kai returns to Adult Swim weekdays
Re: Kai returns to Adult Swim weekdays
So yep, Daima's set to replace Kai on 2/23, two episodes per night. They're gonna burn through that pretty quickly, wonder how long that'll last...

I think Daima ALWAYS needed this sort of release, but again, put on afternoons and not 5AM. Even if 5AM is doing surprisingly well.wjbraden wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 4:44 am So yep, Daima's set to replace Kai on 2/23, two episodes per night. Re: Kai returns to Adult Swim weekdays
You're right. How odd. They'll be done with that run in 2 weeks. So, Kai really was just a temporary thing. Damn. Oh well, like I said, this ain't 1998 when Toonami would restart at Radtiz after reaching Ginyu. All of Dragon Ball including Kai is readily available to stream and buy at this point. Still, imagine getting invested as a first-time viewer who doesn't have streaming, physical media, or internet and reaching when Goku goes Super Saiyan just for Kai to restart and then once again reach Super Saiyan Goku just to jump ahead to Daima. Reminds me of when Kai aired on Nicktoons and finished the Cell Arc right when Kai was canceled in Japan. So, instead of doing the logical thing and just airing the Z Buu Arc episodes (I know the TV deal/episodes might've been expensive or complicated, but still) - They skipped ahead to GT. I know for a fact a lot of younger viewers were confused because the Buu Arc has a lot of new characters and concepts that bridge Z to GT. It's like when Future Trunks returned in Super and was confused by how everyone in the past changed since he left.wjbraden wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 4:44 am So yep, Daima's set to replace Kai on 2/23, two episodes per night. But hey, I'm just glad Adult Swim is at least interested in airing Dragon Ball in ANY capacity. Maybe, that bodes well for them airing Super: Beerus and beyond on Toonami. Even though I don't care at all for that sort of thing anymore, it's nice to see Toonami continue on TV (even when traditional TV/cable is so dated now). Honestly, though, I would like Crunchyroll to partner with Toonami and create a Toonami viewing experience on the Crunchyroll app that has bumpers for certain anime, like DBS: Beerus and beyond whenever they get dubbed. I doubt it'll happen, but that'd be a cool way of keeping Toonami alive even in the streaming age.

like Orange TV in Spain have started experimenting with using the Toonami and Adult Swim brand names for add-on packages, although I don't know if they created banners.
I definitely think Crunchyroll should take note though, especially if they want to make a huge push for Super Beerus for its debut to feel more like an event.

I mean, this trailer for Sparking Zero (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qOkd6pXHt ... xlcg%3D%3D) at least shows they're aware of the hype of Toonami promos. Hopefully, they bring that to Super 2.0.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 5:12 pm It's a great idea, and some streaming services

Re: Kai returns to Adult Swim weekdays
Not only does Kai return, SAILOR MOON DOES TOO! I guess they are just using their rights they have because they spent so much money on them. But wow 5AM Adult Swim could have been so great in the afternoon!
Re: Kai returns to Adult Swim weekdays
Should be noted Sailor Moon replaces the weekday slot Daima was going to have. Wouldn't be surprised if they run Naruto again after that, if there's still time in the contract to run it, that is.Yellow Flower King wrote: Thu Feb 12, 2026 4:22 pm Not only does Kai return, SAILOR MOON DOES TOO! I really dont know why Adult Swim continues to refuse to keep good things going.
Re: Kai returns to Adult Swim weekdays
Ok, so now Daima is back on again for next week at 5am, with no Sailor Moon now. Can't make up their minds lol.

Presumably when Super Beerus starts Adult Swim will be more consistent and air that as much as possible.

Oh yeah! Saving the right for the time there is A REAL Dragon Ball frenzy is a very smart move. Airing Kai when Daima is airing creates a lull Adult Swim might want to avoid.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 8:47 am Presumably when Super Beerus starts Adult Swim will be more consistent and air that as much as possible.
