Finished the Daima DLC. Disappointed with both parts tbh, but Part 2 felt crazy incomplete even though they dragged on the release. Idk what happened here, I mostly liked the rest of the main game and DLC.
I almost don't want them to do anymore if it's going to be like this.
Also, PC version got the remaster a few months back so I switched to it and did a replay of the main story. It looks worse than the original. Everything is moving all the time even when it shouldn't be in focus, the wavy water messes up the old effects for when you would fly close to it. It's like they didn't QC it (unfortunately common in these video game remasters, I remember the old Assassins Creed re-releases looking uglier than their original too)
If they adapt more and I hear good things I'll re-download and buy it. I feel like GT isn't on the table creatively, both the og side content and the EoZ DLC already tried to give good "alternate endings" to the story.
Movie adaptations would be interesting and make for good boss fights but I feel like the real opportunity to do that was to actually work them into the adaptation of the main game, have them fit into the timeline, or maybe even as Shenlong wishes, the same way you can bring back other villains. I don't know if I would care about it now.
I think it's pretty obvious that if we get new content at this point it's going to be Super, and the structure of Super between RoF and Moro really doesn't lend itself to this genre so I don't think they will do that, they're all set in alt locations that you go to, do a thing, and then it's immediately irrelevant. How would a ToP Kakarot work?
So yeah, I think Kakarot is over. I've enjoyed my time with it, mostly for the writing, probably won't ever touch it again. If the Boo Arc adaptation wasn't so aggressively abridged I'd think more highly of it, I was hoping Kakarot would basically be "the DBZ remake" disguised as a RPG, and sometimes the cutscenes live up to that, but overall it comes up short.

Well, they had to condense 20 episodes into roughly 6-10 hours' worth of gameplay, which should've been doable, but even then, they cut some of the more important or noteworthy stuff from my understanding, mainly in the second half. Like, they changed how Neva gives Goku the power up to SS4 iirc. I think they do better for these DLCs when the stories weren't that long. Like, every DLC after Battle of Gods & before the Daima ones were pretty good because they put what was in the original stories in them & just expanded on them. Daima, they would've needed more time to properly adapt (even thought hey had a year to do so), but even then they didn't properly adapt everything in the base game for no reason. Like, I enjoyed part 1 more than part 2, if only because they put a lot of the main story elements into it while the second half was all wrap-up stuff.kprison wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 9:45 am Finished the Daima DLC. I'd like to see them do more, but only if they can actually do the stories more justice.
I disagree with the remasters of the Assassin's Creed games looking worse than the originals. Every AC game before 3 looked like shit in terms of the character models & textures, which everyone forgets because they made up for it with good voice acting, storytelling, & gameplay. The only things they did that make the games show their ages in the remasters were increasing the resolutions & changing some things like the lighting & color saturations.
The remaster of Kakarot actually looks a LOT better than the original, tbh. Maybe not the little things like what you said, but they added more vegetation, touched up the textures, & some other things. The only thing that I would say the remaster doesn't make look better are the pre-rendered cutscenes since those were, for some reason, not redone with the new backgrounds or at a higher resolution. They also could've easily made those in-engine, but nope. So, they look out of place as a result.
I mean, they adapted the 23rd World Tournament & that's all tournament. The easiest thing to do to me would be for them to start at the beginning with Goku recruiting everyone, then just focus on the main stuff that the Universe 7 cast does in the story. This would maybe also have to be spread across 2 parts as well. either that, or it's the size of 2 parts. They'd also maybe have to make more characters playable, but it depends on how they'd do it. I honestly think Super's the direction they're gonna go if they do more DLCs, though I think a full sequel would be better. Properly adapt the Battle of Gods stuff & maybe carry over your save data from the previous game since Super doesn't have as much exploratory stuff as the original manga or DB & Z did. Depends on what they'd do.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

The 23rd Budokai has a hard divide between the main story and the side content because of it, and it also abridged the story to pace it out. Almost all the unique content comes after you finish the arc.Scsigs wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 4:28 pm...they adapted the 23rd World Tournament & that's all tournament.
That worked though bc they mostly just reused assets. Think about this for the ToP. You'd have a very abridged telling of it, only hitting the key moments, and then a bunch of side missions after. I liked the main game side missions but Daima's were boring, they didn't really build the world in an interesting way, it's just filler content, and do I really want either of these things?
No, I don't. I'd rather they just let this game be remembered as "the fun recap game" and not ruin its reputation.
