Throughout the Tournament of Power, seven universes had the unfortunate fate of being erased from existence. Thankfully, the Zenos had the foresight to ensure that the winner would bring them restore them all, ensuring that their erasures were merely temporary.
However, there's something that's really been gnawing on me lately: what happens in between erasure and getting restored?
Erasure isn't like death as we know it in Dragon Ball. When one dies in Dragon Ball, they get sent to the afterlife, be in Heaven or Hell. Erasure? DEAD in all caps. No body, no soul, no existence. Just flashes of white, and then you get bye-bye'd by the Omni-Kings.
However, as mentioned before, all of these erasures were merely a test to see if mortals cared enough for those erased universes that they revive them. And thanks to 17, the Zenos' beliefs were validated, and everyone and everything from those seven universes were restored.
But what happens in between one's erasure and one's resurrection? That's the question I want to know.
Let me give you an idea on what happens when an erased being is restored. Universe 6 served as a showcase of what happens when one who's erased is restored into existence. Champa eyes widened as if he was shocked, and checks to see if his body is still there by staring at his hands--yep, still alive. And Caulifla was delighted to see Kale and Cabba as well.
So, it bears repeating: just what happens to someone in between being erased and being restored?
When one gets erased, do they only "see", for lack of a better term, blackness for the entirety of their erasure? Or the remains of the universe they were a part of, similar to what the original future timeline and Universe 9 "looked like" after their erasure?
Or maybe erasure and restoration is effectively King Crimson: you get erased. You glow white, and you begin flashing. Immediately afterwards, you suddenly find yourself back in your home universe, as if you were aggressively yanked from the Null Realm and sent back to your home universe. You would never have known you were erased unless someone told you. Basically, you skip through time.
Could that be what happens when the body and soul are completely erased and restored? I implore you to discuss your thoughts.

If you're erased, you have no means of being aware of your non-existence.
