"Dragon Ball Daima" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread
Re: "Dragon Ball Daima" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread
What a disaster the Daima situation is. It's not making things better that there hasn't even been announced a french dub of Daima yet.

Finished watching my copy and found no real reason why it would have been scrapped on a technical level, so I'm going with "Toei stepped in and said no" for what happened. Oh well, maybe we'll see the set in the wild some day, but until then I'll just count myself among the lucky ones to get a copy.

Here's hoping it's to rewamp the subtitles.Lance Freeman wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:16 pm Finished watching my copy and found no real reason why it would have been scrapped on a technical level, so I'm going with "Toei stepped in and said no" for what happened. I assume the recent layoffs at Crunchyroll have most likely jeopardized their home video release of DB Daima.Lance Freeman wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:16 pm Finished watching my copy and found no real reason why it would have been scrapped on a technical level, so I'm going with "Toei stepped in and said no" for what happened.

Sorry guys, that’s beyond my capabilities. The last time I tried to rip a BD I got zero sound on the output.wjbraden wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 6:55 pmAnd ending as well!songohan619 wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 4:09 pmCould you post the dubbed intro?Lance Freeman wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:16 pm Finished watching my copy and found no real reason why it would have been scrapped on a technical level, so I'm going with "Toei stepped in and said no" for what happened. Possibly, but they just announced a home release of the Dr. Stone America arc and some other stuff, so stuff IS still coming out, it’s just certain Toei things that appear to be in the lurch.TechExpert2021 wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 7:13 pmI assume the recent layoffs at Crunchyroll have most likely jeopardized their home video release of DB Daima.Lance Freeman wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 8:16 pm Finished watching my copy and found no real reason why it would have been scrapped on a technical level, so I'm going with "Toei stepped in and said no" for what happened.

Any news from Crunchyroll?
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Their home releases these past few months, as well as what's been announced for the next three months, have been very light, so whatever's going on isn't exclusive to Daima.

Re: "Dragon Ball Daima" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread
Hopefully its just a production issue and copies had to be recalled. I'd hate to think a Dragon Ball home release got cancelled.

Re: "Dragon Ball Daima" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread
It just happened again; Crunchyroll appears to have removed One Piece Season 14 Voyage 9 from their store, though it's still readily available on Amazon Canada. So whatever's going on, it definitely looks like it's a Toei thing, because they also just announced home releases for Re:Zero S3 and the vending machine isekai S2.

And it seems like Toei has been interrupting a lot of European dubs of Daima lately... They seem to be control freaks in a negative way.Lance Freeman wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 11:59 am It just happened again; Crunchyroll appears to have removed One Piece Season 14 Voyage 9 from their store, though it's still readily available on Amazon Canada. So it's just Toei being Toei, what a surprise.
Re: "Dragon Ball Daima" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread
I've been away for a while, but I wondered where my preorder for Daima was and came across this thread. Very disappointing
I meant to post this a few weeks ago, but they actually acknowledged the delay on the announcement page (it was updated March 27). The links to the Daima product pages still give a 404 error though.
Also, I did get an email from Crunchyroll on April 8th saying it's been delayed. Maybe it's just me, but from the way they worded it, I got the impression that they are nudging me to cancel my preorder instead of waiting.

So it was updated three months later, and they didn't even remove the release date from the body of the article. No wonder no one found the update (and, of course, a statement that vague isn't much help weeks after the expected release date).ricecake wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 7:28 am I meant to post this a few weeks ago, but they actually acknowledged the delay on the announcement page (it was updated March 27).

Re: "Dragon Ball Daima" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread
Damn, I didn't even think this thread would still be active at this point. Hell, I almost thought Daima didn't even need a home release thread when making it and thought I'd get pushback for even doing it. But due to Crunchyroll's piss poor handling of their Daima home release, it's still relevant. Seriously, I can't believe Daima's still not out on Blu-ray and that only some people were able to get it. Apparently, it's coming in July, but that hasn't been confirmed by Crunchyroll and I think they just announced their July solicitations. And Daima wasn't on there. I'm telling you guys, like I said before, I would not at all be surprised if Daima is the last big Dragon Ball home release from Crunchyroll. Based on them gutting pretty much a lot of their home releases, I think the upcoming Super remake won't even get home releases and will be exclusive to their streaming service.
And if that happens, I'll just start importing the Japanese home releases. Hopefully, they would come with the English dub, although I doubt it. But hey, Sand Land came with an English sub so maybe I can hope for that, at least. Because even if Crunchyroll continues home releases, if the Super remake dub releases early next year, we'd have to wait over a YEAR to get the home release anyway.

I dont care about it but Toonami WILL have it as the markee premiere. I bet on it. It might not have a home release but Toonami WILL want to air it. Dragon Ball Super Beerus I mean. And then the Moro arc.

Amazon US has re-opened pre-orders for the Daima collectors edition, but it still has a release date of Dec 31, 2099. You can try ordering if you want, maybe this is a sign of good things to come.
