Kanzenshuu Wiki Has Launched!

Post by VegettoEX » Wed Apr 01, 2026 10:16 am

Your best Dragon Ball and Akira Toriyama wiki is finally open!

WIKI www.kanzenshuu.com/wiki
MAIN SITE POSTwww.kanzenshuu.com/2026/04/01/kanzenshuus-wiki-open/
PODCAST www.kanzenshuu.com/2026/04/01/podcast-episode-0537/

Development

This wiki is maintained, supported, and produced in full by a small, ragtag group of editors working their collective butts off, completely unpaid and unsupported in any way, because we’re very silly and we believe in old-school projects like this. Everything you read on the wiki (just as with the main site) has been written by someone with their own fingers, having picked up an actual book to reference, popped in an actual DVD, etc. etc. etc.

No “AI” has been used in any way, shape, or form to develop any written content, and we vehemently denounce and condemn its use. We are doing everything in our power to fight back against the “Dead Internet.”

What to Expect From Articles

While we have "launched," that doesn’t mean the wiki is "complete"; it's impossible for this to ever truly be finished, so keep that in mind as you click and tap around. Some articles may be unfinished, have placeholder text leftover, etc. It’s a work-in-progress as it's always been.

You're also going to find more articles about esoteric topics and materials than more mainstream ones. For example, there's no article for "Big Bang Attack" right now, but we sure do have articles for the various manga compilations given away at recent Jump Festa events!

Just like we've always done with the main website, we want to do what no-one else is doing, what no-one else seems to care about, and to cover what has been seemingly lost to time.

An Expanded Focus

You'll also discover far broader coverage and reach around the expanded world of Akira Toriyama than ever before. Looking for a complete list of Dr. Slump chapters (in actual publication order) — including the accompanying weekly comments from Toriyama? How about release dates and documentation for his uncompiled one-shots? How about spin-off manga for other properties based on his character designs?

This has been our dumping ground for all this kind of information, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with you.

User Experience

You’ll roughly get the same experience in our wiki that you do on the main website, which is one of the biggest differentiators we have: no ads.

We’re not a company, we’re under no obligation to shareholders or investors, and we’re just as frustrated with the larger internet browsing experience as you are. When you load a page, you’re loading a web page, and that’s basically it. There’s a little bit of analytics running under the hood just for us to broadly be aware of what pages are getting traffic, but that’s it.

If that sounds awesome to you, we wouldn’t be opposed to a little help keeping the lights on each month.

Access

While everyone in the general public now has access to read the wiki, our small group of existing editors will remain in charge of actually developing it further. We have no plans for open registration access — this is the only way that we can maintain the quality of the project, which is what sets it apart from other documentation sources in the first place. While we do not plan on actively recruiting, we do hope we can learn about and meet others out there who have extremely niche, specialized knowledge in certain areas, and have either already worked on their own independent documentation project(s), and/or would like to discuss how they could perhaps get involved with ours.

I thought it was an April Fools joke because of the date but I saw it's the real deal.

it's impressive how much effort and time was put on this Wiki. I really like the format of the articles.

It definitely will be my go-to English source for Dragon Ball information from now on since Fandom's Dragon Ball Wikia is unreliable, biased and full of FUNimation's terminology.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

I asked about this about a year ago, and my wish has finally come true!

The Kanzenshuu Wiki will be my primary wiki source for Dragon Ball and Akira Toriyama information from now on.

Great to see this is finally up and running. I hope this will become the fandom's new default Dragon Ball wiki as its the only one I'll trust to be objective, unbiased and genuinely informative.

I'm happy to share the wealth of information I've gathered about Dragon Ball in countries other than the US and Japan (with sources) if its any help?

Fun fact, tomorrow will mark 25 years since the Westwood dub first premiered in the UK and Ireland.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

Goddamn, I remember you talking about this as far back as like 2009 or 2010 maybe? Perhaps earlier.

Very cool this is finally online.

I also like the simple UI and general design to match regular Wikipedia compared to the obnoxious stylized design of the Dragon Ball wikia. Makes it look very professional and easy to navigate.

And I can totally understand why this took so much time looking at the music catalog for each episode. That is some serious dedication and what I assume was a massive time sink to detail each piece.

Holy shit! Had to double check if it isn’t April’s fools, but you’ve finally done it!
Awesome. It’s been like years since the initial idea and respect for the time and steady pace that you guys put into these things, not for FOMOs, not to compete with anyone or anything - DBwiki, cough, cough, but that’s not a competition anymore :)

Also, kudos to the overall look… I’d love to lend my senior design skills, as I can’t offer much else, but honestly, I am not needed in this comunity and grateful to just enjoy the ride )))

Awesome. Great job man!

I know you're not opening registration to edit but is there a thread where people can post information to contribute?

BTW, the Michael Jackson trivia says the Smooth Criminal music video came out in 1987. While the album it was on (Bad) came out in 1987, the actual music video was released in in 1988.
Rocketman wrote:"Shonen" basically means "stupid sentimental shit" anyway, so it's ok to be anti-shonen.

Hey, all:

Yesterday we did a two(ish)-hour live stream giving a tour of everything we have available on the new wiki along with some audience Q&A. That's been archived up on our YouTube page now-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFfh6keadPY

Thanks for any minor corrections or typo spotting!

In terms of general "contributions," that's just not a thing we're ready for right now. We go into it a little bit during this live stream, but right now we're looking for less in terms of "I want to help do general stuff" and more "I am a complete sicko and documented expert in (blank) and I've already produced a bunch of (blank) that I am personally capable of contributing and working on". If that's you -- cool! Let me know. I know that probably/might kill a little bit of excitement, but that's the reality of what we're working with and on.

How on earth did I miss this? I've waited so long for this project to release that it actually feels surreal to finally browse more than the few pages available before, even if it's not yet complete (not that you can ever truly complete a wiki, since there's always new and old stuff to document, but nevertheless). Even as it is now, it's far better than the inaccurate, poorly-running Fandom/Wikia wiki. Great work! Now to spend the next few hours trawling every page...

Congratulations on the launch; it's been a very, very long time coming. I can definitely appreciate the interest of quality over quantity, as letting the average fan contribute to this will just result in it being a mess like the other Wiki this franchise has.

Congratulations! Looking forward to exploring the Wiki more this week! From what I've already seen it looks like it'll be an excellent resource.

The tradition continues -- Kanzentai and Daizenshuu also merged on April 1st, if I recall!

Congratulations to the team. A day long awaited.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
