But judging from the online play in the hub on PS5, the game is quite dead. I remember not being able to fit into some servers as they were full or nearly full. If I meet 4 players in the hub online and active, it is quite a lot as I usually see it empty.

• The Last DLC. •

It's been one hell of a journey this last decade. What an amazing game, literally thousands of hours spent on it! Thank you for being there in all kinds of situation for me, when I was happy, when I was sad, I would just boot the game to do tons of Parallel Quests, have fun at the Hero Colosseum mode, run around Conton City and interacting through those action poses with other Time Patrollers. I never thought I would be able to play as Super Saiyan 2 Bardock, my favorite character using my favorite transformation? Wet dream! So thank you so much for giving me exactly that! I remember when it was about to launch, I couldn't contain my excitement, hours were passing slower than the pacing of a Dragon Ball series or the release gap of modern manga chapters (which is usually one month), all because I couldn't wait to play it. And all of that led to countless memories throughout the years. I can't say thank you enough, and while my time with Xenoverse 2 ends, a new one is about to start...!

I've fallen off of Xenoverse 2's DLC for a few years but I think I have to pick up this Last DLC and experience it myself instead of watching a Youtube playthrough.

Said this in a Discord server yesterday, but I'm surprised they actually got 10 years out of this game. Like, my god. Has to be the longest ongoing anime game support in gaming history.

I was initially happy with the support for the game, but after a while, it felt like their updates and DLCs were focused on all the wrong things, IMO. What separates Xenoverse from other Dragon Ball games is our ability to make our own character and become immersed in Toriyama's universe. Very few of the updates improve that experience. The story of being a Time Patroller protecting the timeline sounds interesting, but most of it boils down to "what if [insert villain here] had a dark ki that made them stronger?" Boring. And why is it when they'd add new costume pieces, they wouldn't let us change their colors? I had to rely on a mod to do the obvious thing and made it so every costume can have its colors changed.

Also, adding that figure mini game was just baffling to me. They made a game within the game. Who asked for that? What's the point? Just to give us something to spend money on?

Ignoring Heroes, this might be the game that stayed active the longest in the entire franchise. I really hope this last DLC comes packed with content and interesting stuff, kind of like a farewell letter for the players who are going to move on to XV3. In my case, I’m still waiting for more info about that Bulma being an active character in the story there, otherwise I’ll just keep playing XV2 without any issues lol

Technically DBO is. Not officially I don't believe, but people still play it on private servers for love of the game.

As far as XV3 goes... I honestly don't think it'll be for me. I certainly won't be picking it up day 1. It looks like a massive departure from the story thus far and is entirely replacing the Year 1000 world and story from DBO, which I feel would've been significantly more Dragonball than what is being presented in the XV3 trailer. Which is just it's the future but everyone is just a Great Saiyaman-style super hero. Xeno Bulma being there for the time travel stuff would be fine, but thus far it feels like they're just going to rely on nostalgia and using old faces to bring people in instead of actually anyone or anything new.

I guess right now there just isn't enough actual info to go off of, but from how the game is being presented, it feels like our past Xenoverse characters from 1&2 will no longer matter. That everything you did and built up is just being flushed away so you must start over. To not continue our own personal stories makes me feel like they don't care about the actual player experience. It did suck that you could only transfer your XV1 character to XV2 as just a plot bit and you couldn't actually play them. To have it happen again just isn't endearing this next installment to me.

Like I said, I probably won't day 1 this. I may end up waiting a year or longer post-release to see what actually happens. I'm not thrilled and that's almost as bad as being apathetic to any new release. I really wish this had gone in another direction. I really do. But right now it just looks like a Super Hero knockoff using DBO as a backdrop. And not even the good parts of it. I hope I'm wrong, but there isn't much hope there.
