For some reason DB games are really particular about alternate costumes displaying other versions of the characters. Piccolo Daimao in B3 is a rare exception.WittyUsername wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 11:02 pm Now that I think about it, the version of #17 from the Tournament of Power probably could’ve just been an alternate costume that has a slightly different moveset. This game already did that with his sister, so why not?
In any case, I stand by what I said about Hell Fighter 17 being a waste of resources. Rilldo and Oceanus are probably the most requested GT characters that haven’t been in a console game before, so either of them would generate a lot more enthusiasm from fans.

I'd like to see Kid/Teen Krilin, but I think that is as unrealistic as having Batman in the game.

Crazy statement, but what's even crazier, is that you're unfortunately correct lol I don't understand why og Dragon Ball is so under represented in videogames.Koitsukai wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 8:32 am I'd like to see Kid/Teen Krilin, but I think that is as unrealistic as having Batman in the game.
I mean I understand it's due to popularity, but it's not fair, we've had how many games at this point?

4 of the 9 upcoming DLC characters are from og DB, so I don't think Kid Krillin is the most unrealistic choice. Considering the vast majority of main characters from Z, GT, and Super are in the game, future DLCs will have to think outside the box, so what better way to do that than to look towards og DB ?PhantomSaiyan wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 2:55 pmCrazy statement, but what's even crazier, is that you're unfortunately correct lol I don't understand why og Dragon Ball is so under represented in videogames.

Mighty Mask is such a deepcut
Here's the DLC Character roster:

3. Zangya
4. King Piccolo
5. Grandpa Gohan
6. Mercenary Tao
7. Spike the Devil Man
8. God of Destruction Champa
9. Super 17
10-11. GT Vegeta (Base, SSJ)
12. Nuova Shenron
13-14. GT Trunks (Base, SSJ)
15. King Vegeta
16. Cheelai
17. Jaco the Patrolman
18. Uub (End of Z)

I think Hell Fighter 17 might be a playable character but might just be a costume, same with GT 18 (being a costume).

They usually count transformations as their own characters, right? SSJ Trunks and Vegeta GT are probably what they count as two more.

Damn. Looks like they didn’t pull any punches. The game is basically its own sequel now.

The press release lists the following, and also says "over 30":Bardock God of Time wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 5:55 pm Mighty Mask is such a deepcut

I think Hell Fighter 17 might be a playable character but might just be a costume, same with GT 18 (being a costume).
Grandpa Gohan, Mercenary Tao, Demon King Piccolo, Bardock Super Saiyan, Zangya, Pikkon, Hell Fighter 17, Super 17, Champa, Nam, Eighter, General Blue, Tora, Fasha, Chilled, Salza, Mighty Mask, Supreme Kai, Uub (Kid), King Vegeta, Cheelai, Jaco, Vegeta (GT), Vegeta (GT) Super Saiyan, Trunks (GT), Trunks (GT) Super Saiyan, Nuova Shenron (GT)
So that's Hell Fighter 17 as his own thing, but not 18 GT (unless she's just left off the list). Notably, it also leaves off Devil Man.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread
It seems like there are a handful of characters they've yet to reveal, so hopefully Cyborg Tao and 23rd Tenkaichi Chi-Chi are among them, as both were found in the game's files alongside everyone announced here.
Yep. They're really going all out in making improvements to the game, from characters, to stages, to game modes, and now even changes to the actual gameplay. Everything we've gotten (and will get) this year is what I expected the sequel to have, so you can tell they want this game to have the same longevity that other games in the franchise have enjoyed. I expect another season pass next year under the "Meteor" title, which coincides with Tenkaichi 3's 20th anniversary, just as this year is Tenkaichi 2's (Neo). As for what it'll contain, I expect it to focus on the missing characters from Super (up to the TOP) and Daima, as this upcoming pass is clearly focusing on the classic era. I do however expect Moro, Granola, and whatever comes next to be saved for the sequel though.WittyUsername wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 10:13 pm Damn. Looks like they didn’t pull any punches. This new game mode is what I was missing from the game.
If you can pick any character you like, and not just 8-10 characters to pick from, this will actually become a game I really want to play and spend a lot of time on.

Here are the missing stages from Tenkaichi 3 that have yet to be added:
The Planet stage (the one that looks like a mixture of Namek and where movie 8 took place).
The Mountain Road (where Vegeta and Android 18 fought).
The Desert (where Goku and Yamcha fought in Early DB).
King's Castle (where Goku and King Piccolo fought).
Muscle Tower.
Mount Paozu.
Ruined Earth.
Hell (where Janemba and Gogeta fought).
I doubt all 8 will make the cut, so if I had to guess, I'd say Mountain Road, King's Castle, and Hell will be part of the potential next expansion. Ruined Earth might also make the cut so that all stages can be destroyed.

I’m almost excited about a Dragon Ball game again which is something I haven’t genuinely been in well over a decade.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I just need GT Goten and I'm set. GT Gohan could be just a new skin for Z Adult Gohan.
And the Tamagamis that got shafted in favor of stupid Panzy who doesn't even fight.
And the new skins, this is sweet.
As far as stages, I'm not completely sold with these, but it ain't bad either. Mountain Road, King's Castle, Beerus' planet, original TB arena, and U6 Tourney arena are those I still need. And maybe Hell.

I'm not one to fall for cheap fanservice, but holy hell, the GT opening poses and characters getting their own character are amazing.

My favorite part of the trailer is Vegeta (Leather Daddy) being playable, because that design is fire as hell.
