Masako Nozawa meets the Emperor

If this doesn't show how important Nozawa (and effectively Dragon Ball) is to Japan. She met with the Emperor at the Spring Garden Party in Tokyo a few days ago

We also had the Prime Minister of Japan do a Kamehameha pose with the President of France for press photos recently:

Anime and video game characters like Goku have become sort of pop culture ambassadors for Japan to the rest of the world, bringing a lot of international business and tourism, and Japan's government very much recognizes that.

I wanted to post about the French president doing the Kame Hame Ha but just did not get around it. It is nice to see someone else did it  .

And of course Goku's voice will be cheered as a veteran war hero in Japan, and globally, her legacy will live forever and I am happy for her.

Also most DB fans who grew up watching the series are now in their 40s or 50s, a time in life where the world stops seeing you as a young person and you start to be recognized in society as a full adult. The children are grown up so they don't need as many changes of clothes or shoes so you also start to have a little bit more money and time for hobbies. Dragon Ball being recognized and Masako Nozawa meeting the Emperor is part of that, I believe...

There was such a delay in Dragon Ball in the U.S (I know there are some fans in their 40s and 50s) but to think of Japanese fans who grew up with the series hitting that age hit me for some reason lol
