I wish they would've allowed to us save our progress and switch characters after every 10 fights or so, as trying to do all 208 with one character in one sitting is just pure insanity.
Yeah it is pretty crazy but there are people out there that would do it in one sitting. For example there's a speedrunning category of 100-percenting Budokai 1 and it takes 13+ hours.

Seeing the likes of Goku's EoZ gi as a new alternate costume for the guy AND Young Uub(!!) making his first playable appearance in a DB console game since... Budokai 3(?), I legit have some hope that THIS will be the game where Trunks (EoZ), Goten (EoZ) AND Pan (EoZ) appear as playable characters as well.

On that note, if they DO join Sparking Zero? They (alongside Young Uub) NEED *these* fits as alternate costumes (ESPECIALLY Goten).

Honestly, I can't shake this feeling that Sparking Zero is going to become the (widely-available) fighting game equivalent to that of Heroes and Dokkan Battle where nearly every DB character who even simply wields a weapon will eventually join the game.

They can have their GT and Superhero designs as alternate appearances.

Yep, that's exactly what I think this game is becoming, at least until the sequel is released. If someone like Mighty Mask of all characters can make it in, then there's really no one off limits. I expect fan favorites like Bio-Broly and Appule to eventually be added.

Well... I WOULD agree with you, but given how we're apparently going to get Trunks (GT) as a separate playable character from the other older incarnations of Trunks?

I imagine that maybe Goten (GT) will get the same treatment and be a separate playable character from Goten (EoZ), should the latter be playable.

I know, right? No joke, with the addition of folks like Mighty Mask and Cheelai? I can actually see folks like King Kai(!), Teen Chi-Chi(!!) and Bulma(!!!) joining the game as well.
To be fair to them though, they DO make appearances in Ultimate Butoden (King Kai), Super DBZ, Heroes and Legends (Chi-Chi and Bulma).

It's funny... while I was sending my last post? Mighty Mask in particular is what put the whole 'Sparking Zero is probably going to be to DB fighting games what Heroes and Dokkan Battle are to DB gacha games' thought in my head (BTW, I know Heroes isn't really a gacha game, but you get my point).

In the lead-up to the initial release of Sparking Zero, I was actually quite confident that THIS would be the DB fighting game to add Bio-Broly, as I had felt that the usual vitriol towards him seems to have died down (at that point in time) just enough that his presence in this game wouldn't be met with such negative reception.

Heck, there's STILL folks from BT3 who need to be added (Young Chi-Chi, Arale, Appule, etc.), so they're not really hurting for additional options.

Bio-Broly, False Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Grade 2 and Super Saiyan Grade 3 Goku all debuting in this game would be nuts, but it would live up to the "reputation" that Budokai Tenkaichi has.

I'm very glad that King Vegeta and Chilled made it. They should have been in the base game, of course, but eh.

Now my only wishes are for Tarble, Abo, Cado and Neko Majin and we're set. Hatchiyack and Ozotto would be cool to include, but I highly doubt it.

I forgot about Trunks GT, but I still believe EOZ and Superhero could be one character.

Teen Chi-Chi (I assume you mean from the tournament) is actually in the game's files.

Why would you doubt Hatchiyack? He was in Raging Blast 2, I think he's more likely than Ozotto. Though I do wonder if we'd get his Super and Giant forms from the Playdia game.

Imagine a Copy Vegeta skin (with Brian Drummond voicing) and Barry Kahn (Watagash)

I think both Hatchiyack and Ozotto are likely, as Hatchiyack appeared in a number of games starting with Raging Blast 2, and Ozotto got a mini animated arc in Heroes. Considering the likelihood of a "Meteor" expansion next year, they alongside the Tamagamies can be the selling point for it character wise.

I can only hope that the continued baffling lack of Arale in the roster means that they're saving her for some future "World of Toriyama" DLC pack, alongside new characters like Neko Majin, Ackman, Beelzebub, Cashman, one of the proto-Gokus, maybe Mashirito as a villain... You'd think they'd save Jaco for such a bundle too, but at this point he feels almost more associated with Super than even his own original miniseries.

Oh yeah, I should mention that the full announcement of this surprisingly varied ~30-character "Neo" DLC, plus a conveniently-timed sale on Fanatical, convinced me the game was finally worth my while to buy. Snagged the Shallot and Bardock/F.Gohan DLCs too while I was at it, and set a heartwarming screenshot as my custom Steam background for the game as soon as I could.

Don't know. But I'm not expecting Hatchiyack, so I will be surprised if he shows up.

Oh, definitely. Heck, Trunks (EoZ) is basically wearing the same clothes during that point in time, just color-swapped. His jacket was yellow in EoZ and purple in Super Hero, in case you're wondering.

Yeah, I was referring to Chi-Chi during the 23rd W.M.A.T..

That said... she's really in the files???

Yes; fans were able to datamine everything that was unfinished but not completely removed from the game's files, and she was found alongside a good number of the characters we're getting in the upcoming DLC. There are characters like GT Trunks and GT Vegeta who weren't in the files, but are making it into the game, so someone not being there doesn't mean they won't make the cut. The game's files include 150 characters NOT including transformations (ssj, ssj2, ssj3, etc...) and other variants (early, mid, late, etc...), which is huge.

Here's a list in case you want to take a look at it:

Thanks for this! Like you said, the inclusion of Vegeta (GT) and Trunks (GT) at least gives me hope that folks like... well, ANY older incarnation of Goten or Bio-Broly or even Bulma would be eligible for Sparking Zero.

On a related note, if Bulma IS playable? I wonder if they'd go the whole nine yards and just give her every design she's ever had throughout the series as alternate costumes.

I would be surprised if Bio-Broly were included. That character has always been treated as taboo for any game that isn’t Heroes or Dokkan Battle.

Bulma has so many skins, like she could literally be her own DLC

We have Mighty Mask; no one's off limits. Bio-Broly could actually be a selling point alongside Hatchiyack and Ozotto, all of whom are main villains in their respective stories. I personally don't think he or the other two will make the cut in NEO, but the eventual Meteor update ? definitely.

Given how Sparking Zero seems to now be truly... "embracing" the craziness that is the Sparking games via the upcoming NEO update?

I can totally see them go either way with Bulma, where either her various designs from over the years get added periodically as DLC or (as you said) she alone ends up constituting her own DLC pack with said different designs over the years all being bundled with her.

Bonus points if she ends up being a "Barbie doll" character of sorts and end up being allowed to actually mix-and-match whatever costumes she wears in a match.

I will say this much... should my idea of her various designs come to pass, I'm hoping that this is one of the useable costumes for her.

Oh, without question. I mentioned it earlier, but I was so sure that THIS would be the Sparking! game to add Bio-Broly, given how the vitriol surrounding him seemed to have died down JUST enough that his inclusion wouldn't be looked at like a wasted character slot.

So I was genuinely surprised to NOT see him in.

So far...?

I think Bulma and her designs being its own unique pack would be the funniest thing to come out of any DB game.
