Tenkaichi Budokai 3 for PS2 or Wii?

Post by disturbed001 » Sat Jul 26, 2008 1:58 pm

The only Tenkaichi Budokai game I'm missing is 3 and I don't know whether I should get it on the PS2 or Wii. I have TB 2 on PS2 and I'm not sure if playing on the Wii will be too annoying with the movements and such. Anyone play both and have a preference? Thanks.

Hey! No prob... lol I see nobody answered... :/ Anyway.... I'd say the PS2 version, because the Wii version has lag for online play... and it takes a long time to load....... but I would also say the Wii version... since you can use the Wii remote and nunchuck attachment to mimic some of your favorite DBZ moves!!! :D So... it pretty much comes down to this.... button mashing... or mimicing DBZ moves? :) You decide!

PS2, the Wii movements work worth a shit in my humble opinion and if you're just going to pop in the classic controller anyway you may as well just go with the PS2. Wii has online but it's laggy as hell it'd be quicker to invite your friends over then waiting for all the lag to pass.

Actually... I'd go with NeptuneKai on that one... I've had help from this feller a while ago... lol

If you need exercise and don't use online play, then get it for the Wii.

Also, if you aren't experienced on the Wii (and even if you are I guess) the Wii version of BT3 can be a little hard to pick up (especially since most of the people you will play against online will be very experienced), whereas BT 1-3 on the PS2 are all pretty similar as far as the controls go, there's just more combinations that you can use.

Honestly, I'd go for the Wii version for the variety. These games are similiar enough as it is, a completely different control scheme should make the game feel a bit fresher, at least.

Yeah... button mashing all the time gets pretty repetitive... I have yet to see a VR simulated DBZ game.

You get an extra game mode out of the PS2 version with your BT2 game disk.

Man, I have it on the Wii. I totally don't like it. I totally don't like the Wii. I thought what I was buying was THE coolest console of the century, but it's not. PS3 rules imo.

But I never really played the BT3 because the Wii didn't work for me.

So you never really played a game just because you don't like the system it's running on ?
You could have said "I don't like the controls", or "I don't like the graphics", but no, you just "don't like the Wii" ? Let me tell you something : videogame systems don't suck, games suck.

Anyway, I only have the Wii version (I don't have a PS2), but it seems the graphics are better, and the controls are great if you take some time to practice. And even if you don't like the Nunchuk + Wiimote controls (which, by the way, are not especially exhausting, you don't have to move a lot), you can use the NGC or the Classic Controller.

Wii version FTW.

The Wii controls make a somewhat boring game fun.

Get it on thge PS2. You get two extra Ultimate Battle Modes and two more items. You could have more "fun" with the motion controls, but I think you'd enjoy the gameplay more with pricisioned controls.

I only got the Wii version for the online battles but thye lag is horrid.

If you don't care about the extra game modes on the PS2 version, get the Wii version. If you don't like the motion controls on the Wii, it can be used with the classic controller (I think).
I finally bought a gamecube. To bad they don't make any games for it now.

Yes, the Wii version has three ways to play the game. The Wii Controls, Classic Controller, and Gamecube controller.
