Hey Everyone!

Today I can announce that the Kai Z-Cut has now reached the Cell Saga! (Except for EP39 & EP95, still on the way)

If you go over to the Archive.org page, you'll find episodes 56 to 98 (except EP95) are now available in their final version, with all of the new changes including the Colour Corrected Z footage from Seed of Might, Z's Opening, Title Card, Eyecatches and Ending, and audio tracks for English + Kikuchi, English + Faulconer and Japanese + English Subtitles.

Not to mention, EP98 contains a custom next episode preview made for EP99 so you can seamlessly watch straight into the Buu Saga when it's up! The preview is included in all 3 audio tracks (the Japanese version uses the original Z NEP for EP200)

As mentioned at the top, Episode 39 & 95 are still on the way. Hopefully I can incorporate them into the project before the Buu Saga goes up but for now though, you can watch the Version 1 of EP39 & EP95 that are already up.

As for the Buu Saga, it's almost done! Just need a few more things to touch up but it won't be long until the complete Z-Cut is available.

Dunno if this also is a Dragon Box Kai issue, but the frame in 94 RIGHT after the eyecatch of the scenery panning is the Kai footage and the next frame it cuts to the proper Dragon Box SoM footage.

That's a semi-frequent issue I found when editing the episodes and footage from DBOX Kai. I hopefully caught most of them when I exported my episodes but some will have slipped through the cracks. I'll fix that up soon and re-upload within the week. Please catch as many errors as you can and I'll fix them all up haha

GOD I hate being so nitpicky, but I promise it's because I love this project lol. But some of these title cards reach the very edge and while that's good on modern digital displays, knowing it is outside the "Safe area" for overscan and just... well the fact that the text literally touches the edges has no breathing room and is a bit... well imperfect. Not saying go back and adjust them all right away, it's a minor thing but just a suggestion if you ever do have the time to glance through and maybe shrink a few of the ones that might fall in this same camp?
And you might have caught it but right after the title card, the kai footage slips in for one frame in 96 as well lol:

No please nitpick away! If it'e easier, I'm happy for you to send anything you find via DM just so the forum post doesn't have too many comments anout the errors haha

And good pick up, those are things I try to spot. Especially in TFC as they went widescreen, there's longer episode titles which meant I shrunk those particular episodes title card text so I'll go through and fix anything like that that gets found along the way

Thanks! And I see where you're coming from. My mentality for the project was to keep it as close to Z elements as I could which meant minimising the kai elements including the soundtrack, the only use of it being in the Japanese audio track as there's no alternative at the moment. In the meantime, my recommendation for watching the combo rescore would be the Dragon Box Kai episodes. While they dont feature my changes like OP, ED, Eyecatches etc., they do have multiple audio tracks and the Seed of Might footage

Honestly I still would love to give applying the Kikuchi rescores to the Japanese version but I never could get perfect results with Ultimate Vocal Remover, yet I heard the Kienzan guys used that for their Z Recut so maybe I just didn't use the right settings. If I could do that we really would have all the Z style audio tracks we'd need even if Kai's voice acting situation's not as good as it was in Z.

When the day comes that we have a true high quality Kai Japanese Audio with a Kikuchi Rescore for all 167 episodes, that would be when I release a V2 of this project. There's a few more things I would like to do for the project like:

• Any necessary audio leveling

• Create a 2nd video track for title cards with Japanese text

• Adding English dubtitles

• Explore potential extra audio tracks

The key thing is I want the project when it's finished in it's current form to feel complete but have room to grow which once the small errors are ironed out and every episode is available, I think it will be

Well. I usually use handbreak and reduce it to a mp4. Then I readd all audio tracks making it an mkv file once again. I used this just last night and the quality difference wasn't super bad/noticeable! And one episode was only about 256mb which is way less than 2gb for a full sized one. I usually put it at around 480p or so which retains a good amount of quality but sacrifices some minor grain

I just experimented then and I chucked an episode into Handbrake, picked Fast 480p30, MKV file type, added all audio tracks, selected the subtitle track, marked to create chapter markers and it came out at about 300mb.

I can definitely make a lightweight version once everything is all done. I don't want to make and upload it now as I occasionally have to go back and fix some errors, but once we have most of the errors fixed, I'll post it up. Until then, feel free to make a personal lightweight version for yourself

Quick Update!

Two new episode uploads are available on the Archive.org page!

The first is an alternate version of EP58, which now reincludes the Driver's School Segments from DBZ Episode 125. Now you can enjoy Kai but with the best filler in DBZ!

The second is the now default version of EP92. I have extended Gohan's SSJ2 Transformation Scene back to the original Z length. Some new details and effects not present in the Kai/English versions of the scenes have been included too. For the three audio tracks, they include:

• In the English Dub/Kikuchi Rescore, Unmei no Hi is included + an Oozaru roar behind Gohan's scream similar to the original Z Japanese Audio (apparently the original sound isn't an Oozaru but I wanted a similar sound for the Kai scene and the roar suits best)

• In the English Dub/Faulconer Rescore, I've used the Gohan's Anger Tracks and arranged them differently to Diccolo's placement + the Oozaru Roar

• In the Japanese Kai track, I elected to use the original Z audio of the scene. You may notice the dialogue and music audio is of course lower quality than the Kai version but it keeps the original scene fully intact for the Japanese Z enjoyers.

For those wanting the original Kai version, it's available on the archive page as EP92A.

Hey Everyone!

I'm pleased to announce that the Buu Saga will begin uploading to the Archive.org page in the form of each mini-arc gradually over time.

At the moment, I'm going through all current episodes to find any errors or mistakes, and reuploading fixed episodes which will be completed and uploaded in groups between Buu Saga's mini arcs. Once EP39 and E95 are uploaded, and the final episode of Kai, EP167 is uploaded as well, this current version of the project will be finished.
