With
yesterday's drop I thought I'd make a thread where we can share information about Dragon Ball on Disney+, if it has been on the platform anywhere in the world. Update if any Dragon Ball content pops up on the service in your country.
So far the only examples I'm aware of are the following:
- Dragon Ball Super Broly in Taiwan, Hong Kong and maybe other Asian territories?
- Dragon Ball Kai in Canada
- Dragon Ball Kai in France
- Dragon Ball Kai in the UK and Ireland
I'm talking Disney+ specifically because, to my knowledge Dragon Ball has never been on a linear channel like Disney XD anywhere, certainly not in the US or UK.

If you have the Disney+/Hulu package in the US, Kai and Dragon Ball are on there too
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

GT, Super, Daima, Battle of Gods, Broly, and Super Hero too. All dub only except for Daima (since it simulcast on Hulu/Disney) and Super Hero (though the Japanese version is its own page for whatever reason).

Canadian here, it's Uncut (has a TV-14 designation, full OP/ED, includes The Final Chapters).

Better to just hook up your laptop to your tv thru HDMI and watch it with the VPN activated to UK since the Japanese audio track is available there.

Ew, Disney.
Couldn't they have picked a less shitty company?

Probably not, it was very likely a consequence of the Dragon Ball movie rights in the west belonging to 20th Century Fox, which is now owned by Disney.

But we're talking about Super Hero, which was distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures, and I think that Fox/Disney no longer holds the rights to the films they distributed, Toei is now handling that.

But we're talking about Super Hero, which was distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures, so the old agreement with Fox doesn't apply to this since they were not involved in either the production or distribution of this film.
Strange, I can recall seeing something related to it back when was still getting new trailers, I guess bad memory then, thank you for the info though. I have no idea why it's on Disney then, might be part of a new agreement with Shueisha / Bird Studio, Sand Land was there too if I'm not mistaken, could indicate something.

Based on what? The
Broly steelbook from 2025 still had the
20th Century Fox logo on the packaging.

Disney Plus has plenty of third-party content, so there's really nothing unusual about Dragon Ball showing up. There's plenty of more obscure and more adult anime on there already, unless Latin America has a completely different catalogue to the other international versions?
Sand Land seems to be a different deal entirely though, as (correct me if I'm wrong) Toei wasn't involved and Disney had the global first-run rights.
