I generally prefer the anime colours, but with Piccolo it's reversed. I wish he had the yellow arm/red waistband throughout the anime too. Pink and blue aren't bad, just not as good.

I think both look great, though I think I prefer the pink!
Anyone who knows about color theory can say if either of them have some good theory going here?
I believe that detail talks about Namekujins in general in the anime, not just Piccolo.

Piccolo Daimao debuts in the anime with his old design having those parts of his arm colored yellow, and Kami works the exact same way until his very last scene in the anime.
Those details change to pink when Daimao gets young.
In flashbacks with Younger Kami in the anime, those parts are colored in pink.
With the other Namekujins, The Grand Elder and older ones all have those parts of their arms colored in yellow.
The younger ones are pink.
So that pretty much tells us that the pink in the anime is because old Toei viewed the yellow color in those parts of the arms as a Older Namekujins feat.

I prefer the red waistband too, this + Goku wearing a orange gi closer to yellow (like in the manga), instead of red, at least in Z Movies 6-9 you get to see that (+ Movie 10 also has the "fake Piccolo" with red waistband, and strangely, reverts to the typical anime blue waistbaist when it's revealed to be Kuririn)

I remember hearing the first part of the word Gedestar (the mechanical thing on Namek that Cooler uses in a movie) is based on a Japanese word but i'm not sure what word it is referencing

I don't know if this is the right place to say this since the previous thread about Vic Mignogna has been locked but it was announced a few days ago that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

I in no way support his behavior, but I do wish him and any other cancer patient the best of luck in this type of battle. I hope he can get access to any available treatment that he needs.

Dude's a piece of shit & I'm glad he got blacklisted from the industry, but yeah. 1 thing I've seen him say is that it was because he got blacklisted, but he more than likely would've gotten it if he didn't get blacklisted. That's just not how cancer works. This dude is 63 & we're 7 years removed from when he got cancelled. Blaming it on his firings is infinitely stupid on his part.

But, yeah, hope he makes a recovery. As someone whose father had cancer that ultimately took his life, I don't wish that upon anyone else. Even someone as bad as Vic.

Is this on the official DVDs by Pioneer?

I only had the VHS of the Pioneer release so I am unable to confirm whether or not it is just a meme edit

I saw that clickbait Twitter account getting shared around. Of course there's no context.

Yes, these are from the original 1997 Pioneer/FUNimation DVD release of DBZ movie 1 ("Dead Zone"):

Thank you. Is it just Dead Zone or all 3 of the Pioneer movie releases?

Dead Zone is the only one with that menu. It's also the only disc that had scenes deleted from the dub. The scenes were of Gohan and the robot and him falling into the river and almost dying but ending up miraculously on that brach.

Anybody have copies (or at the very least memories) of Dragon Ball GT Abridged by Fan In The Attic in 2009?

Fun fact: As a result of being the one to rip out Fat Buu from Super Buu's system, Vegeta is technically the one who defeated Super Buu. The strongest villain in the series was defeated by someone messing with his digestive system; classic Toriyama. 8)

I always assumed it was the Vegeta in Vegito who came up with the absorption idea to rescue the children.

How many times did Toriyama right Muten Roshi's name in English, be it this or Kame Sennin and the various ways he spelt them?

This World Cup period reminded me of when I brought this debate up in this thread.

Exactly what I meant, mate. Vegeta (current) doesn't hate Goku either and even though he see him as a rival, don't want just to be better than him, but the best of all time, just like Ronaldo, who share similiar motivations, and he said back in 2014 that he wants to beat Messi current Ballon d'Or record (indicating that he sees him a rival too).
I suppose. After giving it some thought, they both really have traits of Goku and Vegeta. For example, Ronaldo is kinda like Goku in that he was born in the middle of nowhere (a tiny Portuguese island in the Atlantic to be precise) whereas Messi comes from a city rich in footballing history. And of course, while they were both stars at a young age, Messi was the ultimate prodigy, which is obviously much more of a Vegeta thing.

Messi's recent behavior is also very un-Goku if you ask me, quitting the national team after another failed campaign.

If you ask me, Pele is the Goku of futbol. Never saw him play myself, but they have similar backstories and both were obviously very good at what they did.
It's kind of sad that this might be the last time we'll see these two legends playing in the biggest sporting event in the world. It'd be pretty cool to see Ronaldo go out as a World Cup champion, but I just don't see it happening. This France team is on a completely different level. It'd take an absolute collapse for them not to win it all this year.

Ronaldo is well past his prime, probably should have quit while he was ahead as he has made no difference to the Portuguese team this year.

I think Messi may have one more World Cup in him, obviously he's a little bit younger than Ronaldo and his decline hasn't been as steep.
