Was the Vegeta Saga II Boxset going to be 5 or 6 total DVDs?

I know the Ultimate Uncut Edition can still be a sore subject for some but was the Vegeta Saga II boxset supposed to be 5 or 6 DVDs totals? I can't tell if it's supposed to be "Saiyan Invasion" plus 5 more volumes or if it's 5 including "Saiyan Invasion". Apparently Volume 11, Goku's Best Shot was supposed to have Episodes 31-33. If it is 6 volumes with 3 episodes each, it would've ended at Episode 39 where the first orange brick ended.

Also do we why Funimation choose that episode to be the end of the season? Episodes 35, 36, 38, or 40 I could see but their season division cuts the spaceship children two-parter in half!

I wonder if they were gonna rename the Namek Saga to keep it distinct from the Pioneer release. Not sure what else they could've called it.
